Good Morning
78° 77% humidity to start the day. High of 98 forecasted.

Yesterday I dropped the loader off the tractor and hooked up the Progressive mower and got all the open area mowing done. Then took the Lazer and did along the fence lines and smaller areas. Should have done the Lazer first, instead of waiting for it to get hotter….
The tractor with AC and stereo definitely spoils you.
Son’s generator turned out to be a battery, plenty of gas in the tank.

Hooked up the jump pack and it fired right up.

Today I’ll get a new battery and install it.
But before that, I’ve got to move hay and mow the pastures. I learned my lesson yesterday. I’m gonna throw hay as soon as I finish my Special K, the Tractor will be comfy regardless of the temperature outside.
Then I’ve got to get back to work on the old folks home, simple goals for today are to run thermostat wiring and install outdoor temp sensor for the boiler.
I’m using separate thermostats for the radiant heat and the heat pump. There is two zones for the heat pump and 3 for the radiant heat, so that’s 5 thermostats I’ve got to run wire for.
As I typed that, it dawned on me that I might be a geek if I’m putting 5 thermostats in a 1100 square foot old folks home….

🔋 YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES NEED THIS! Powermax PM3 Series Converters are used to convert AC power to DC power. Virtually all electronic devices require converters. They are also used to detect amplitude modulated radio signals. They are also used to supply polarized voltage for welding. The converter basically prevents your RV's battery or other electronic devices at home from draining when you're plugged in.

I'm interested to see whether upgrading my converter to a higher DC amperage would accomplish anything at all.
I'm not going to be doing any welding on this trip, so that part is out. And I don't think I need to detect any AM radio signals. (didn't understand that one)
and it clearly has some internal switching or blocking capability.
again, brighter minds than me can explain...

I only have 30 amps street/shore power as input.
so this circuitry has to amplify the current, was that a pun?
you have 30 amps AC powering 80 amps DC?
I'm guessing that creates some heat

this was fun to get into. Truly strains my rusty knowledge, switching diodes maybe on the part that keeps the batteries from draining.

5 thermostats. Oh my, Popgadget has gone to gadget heaven, he can control his environment remarkably well and likely conserve where energy not needed

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 4:45AM. Partly cloudy skies. High 68F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

I think weathunderground overheated, it is currently 94:
I did refresh, same result??
I think weather underground is also over rated. I'll be shopping for a new weather site when I move the Davis weather station down here. What are you folks using?
Does anyone have a recommendation on a good WiFi extender.
I installed a TP-Link X5300 Deco mesh network I purchased at Costco, Don. It was plug'n'play, and so far the mesh network is fast enough to get most everything on the network working. The only time I'd like it to be faster is when doing large file transfers. The mesh nodes are far enough apart that intervening walls weaken and slow down the WiFi signal. Some day I'll fix that by running Ethernet to each of the nodes.
I have same problem parking at tractor museum
looks mighty tight
Could you park the RV somewhere safe then call a taxi, Uber, or Lyft? Or find a parking lot with space big enough, within walking distance or on a bus route?

Had "fun" unloading, and unpacking, the box trailer yesterday. It's taking more time than I'd like because the unpacking part means finding a place for everything, and those places are getting scarce. Sometimes it means hanging new shelves or installing new hooks on the walls, but even wall space is getting hard to find, especially in the garage and backyard shed. I did manage to get the big BBQ cooker wheeled out of the trailer and into the garage, then close the ramp on the trailer and wrestle the BBQ across the front yard to the RV parking area. From there it was a tight squeeze to reach the back porch, but I made it without scratching anything expensive. Celebrated by BBQing some chicken breasts, and even avoided burning 'em for a change.

Homeowner's insurance is up for renewal next month, and the quote I got from the existing carrier is almost double what it was last year. Looks like I'll be on the phone sometime soon looking for better rates. Any suggestions would be welcome...

having water in your live receptacles certainly creates a ground, which I witnessed.
Yikes that sounds scary to say the least ...

Have a safe trip Buppies ...

Weather has moderated a lot here, mostly due to some cloud cover. Forecast for 93F-- much cooler than 105F recently.

Might see Big Boy locomotive after all! Tomorrow at first light, a friend and I are heading eastbound for Salt Lake City-- so we might see Big Boy locomotive "on the rails" adjacent to the freeway as we head east on I-80. I'd like to see it up close at one of the rail stations, but friend is short on time. He only has 2 days, and with 1,000+ miles to travel it will be a "put the hammer down" type of trip.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Good morning! 75˚F cloudless sky will be in the upper upper 90s.

Garage Cabinet crew due in an hour, can't wait to get organized.

Put new filters in the pool filtration system, the old ones were muddy and probably the original filters. another thing off the list.

Thanks for the info on the extenders. Do the wifi extenders extend your current signal or are they a new router?

Morning all, 78 going to 98 and sunny.
Got the weedeater and blower out and did some cleanup then went and watered stuff.

My 2nd almond tree, which has been struggling for years due to get a hydraulic oil bath when a cherry picker line busted, finally gave up. With only one almond tree left, doubt almonds are in my future.

It was hot enough that I was only out for less than 2 hours and pretty worn out.

Good luck L4N getting the medical release.

Drew - Make sure wiring can handle extra current for any upgrades. No smoke shows.

Later have a bunch of hedge trimmer work, to get done before I am away for a few weeks.

Be well,

Rose of Sharon overloaded with flowers.

Good Morning,
Ct, 70 to start going to 94 or so ! Sunny now with heat building quickly!

Bill, what a great video, loved it ! As Paul mentioned, definitely pre OSHA ! Reminds me that I haven’t done much with my Ford Model A lately! Need to get to a car cruise or show ! It’s just been too darn hot ! That Model A gets awfully toasty in this weather!

Thanks for the info on the extenders. Do the wifi extenders extend your current signal or are they a new router?
Don, I believe it just extends the signal ! My youngest son installed it but I’m pretty sure that’s the case !

Have a 10:30 appointment with my urologist this morning, that should prove interesting!

Bill good luck with the quack today ! And of course with getting the license back !

Hope all have a good day !

remembered to get a gallon of distilled water for golf cart.
have an auto watering system that usually overfills it

will drop off a few tomatoes to Popgadget on way by

I've used one of these for over 50 years Drew. Rarely overfills, if you listen or feel for the bubbles to stop.
