Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Areas of fog early, becoming sunny this afternoon. High 72F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
I push my weather station data to Weather Underground, and have had issues with the reliability of their infrastructure and their mapping. Just looking for an alternative weather site for my weather data.
I feel your password pain, Paul. The past few weeks I've been trying to update the address for my vehicles and driver's license, and the DMV website has been anything but helpful. Finally got a call back from a real person yesterday, who couldn't find anything wrong and told me to wait another couple weeks to see if it fixes itself. And if it doesn't, I'm to photograph the error message on the screen, print it out, and take it with me to a DMV office. Then and only then will I be admitted to their hallowed halls. Yes, they're forcing us to do all our registration and driver's license stuff online. And the idiots minding the store can't even fix a simple password problem.
LS, you must not buy tires at Costco if your biggest ticket is $500+. I've been very happy with their tire service, prices, and warranty fidelity...free regular rotations and balancing.
The previous tires on the Ford came from Costco, and after five years they refused to rebalance or even rotate the tires, claiming they should be replaced. BS, they had tons of tread left and showed no cracks, splits, cuts or other defects. Even when they did rotate them, it took them well over an hour, even though I had an appointment. I won't be back to Costco for tires again.
Wasted even more time yesterday morning after reading an email from the lender that financed the solar power system that came with this house. It contained a link to a DocuSign that turned out to be another loan agreement. At 4.5% interest, up from 1.5% on the existing loan. Took a half hour to satisfy myself I hadn't missed any payments, and another frustrating half hour on the phone trying to get someone at the lender to explain the email. To me it looks like an obvious attempt to jack up the interest rate, in spite of previous assurances it would remain unchanged for the life of the loan. I got no explanation, only an assurance that the existing loan is in good standing. If interest rates hadn't skyrocketed over the past year, I'd be refinancing with another lender. Might just pay it off to stop the irritation; it's not the first screw up from this company. I did file a complaint with the BBB, though. For all the good that will do.
Progress wise, I did get both the motorcycle and generator unloaded from the trailer yesterday. Had to make a pair of crude ramps from 2x4 lumber to get the generator winched up into the van, but got 'er done. Now have a half dozen cardboard boxes to unpack and put away. And go down the punch list to make sure I'm taking the parts and tools I'll need up north for the next round of repairs.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
