Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 66 going to 78 and cloudy , light rain. less than 1/4 inch so far, but we'll take it.
Got some more plantings and cleanup done.

Uncle may get out of hospital today and back to his apartment under 24x7 care. That hopefully will cheer him up, back brace and all.

Happy Anniversary David/Sodamo !

The main Ghiardelli store in San Francisco used to actually make chocolate there, we got to watch that little mixer hum along.

Scotty - good to have long term (chair) goals :)

Drew - Flagstaff is always much cooler due to elevation and on the way to grand canyon as a bonus.

Don-sounds like good progress, hope the 6 weeks is even better than expected

Be well,

Ken, Flagstaff will be tomorrow and I will slow down and play tourist along route 40.
today I head East on 10, take the 303 bypass North around Phoenix and arrive in Mayer AZ.

I was supposed to do laundry at place here, so thankfully next place has coin ops also.
warning light on dash
Low Underwear

headed outside to unhook soon. Might as well leave early; folks at next place said just fine to come in early. Just going to take my time.
coffee sure helped this morning.
at least another dry day and more bugs to splatter

good morning, 70 going to 78 and rain stopped this morning. Rained all night

Stay at home day and hope to get a few pending things done among others find out where that exhaust leak is on the van. Want to make sure it does not fry any wiring nearby.

Drew hope you enjoy AZ. We lived in Bullhead city one of the warmest towns in the US. We had a swamp cooler only but it actually did a pretty good job of keeping it cool because of the low humidity

seems I'm getting due for a haircut.
don't like longer hair when hot out though mine is so thin
now...
maybe Ted has a place, Monday we are headed out Indian jewelry hunting for folks back home and might see if I can get my hair cut by Indian Joe.
This whole area of the West is dominated by Indian reservations.

Frits, I had never seen 7 percent humidity before.
I'm having to drink more, just seems like I'm drying out faster.
probably because I am

I have been very impressed by enormous size of windmill farms near Palm Springs and the solar farms in this area. They are absolutely enormous if you look on the map.
at one point the windmill farms came right up to the highway, which seemed a safety concern to me, since when they catch fire and explode they often chuck their blades....

but for at least a minute driving by drivers can see up close the blades going round and round, both sides of highway, whole place spinning away. Blades on top of mountains, blades in the valleys. I sure hope they make a lot of electricity because they sure are ugly. Of course the folks on Cape Cod don't want to look at them either.

onward

I was told that I didn’t need an appointment at Quest Diagnostics ! I arrived at 9:30 and checked in at their kiosk and sat down. About 20 minutes later a girl comes out to tell me I either have to wait until 1:30pm or just go home and then come back!

The last time that happened to me, I thanked them and told them I could use the extra time to sober up, hoping that might get their attention (it didn’t).

Thanks Ken ! 😉

Paul, that’s thinking quickly! I’ve never been accused of that but I like that idea ! 😉

For those that may wonder of you can slice a piece of wood on the table saw that’s only .010 thick ! Yes it is possible with a little patience, ok maybe a lot of patience and a sharp blade ! Hopefully this will correct a couple of my dados that are slightly too big , along with a bit of sanding ! 🙏

Good morning! Low of 46°, heading up to 86°. Sunny. Today will be the hottest day of the week. Then supposed to cool into the 70's....(seems I heard this last week).

Still didn't get to fix the tractor tire.... filled it up to 40psi, down to 8 psi 24 hours later. Maybe today I'll run it up to the tire shop.

Scott, getting closer to completion..... how long have these been in process?.... 2 years might be good target.....

Bill, sorry to hear about the hassle with the doc and the forms. Hopefully a fair outcome is heading your way.

Plowhog, hope you can get over the illness quickly. Always seems that fall illnesses are worse.

Don, good to read your shoulder is doing great!

Drew, getting out of that heat is a very good idea! Definitely cooler east of there! You'll probably run through pocket areas of higher temps.
Be careful going through Albuquerque..... traffic / drivers are just as bad as Cali ..... Now, going through on a Sunday morning--- shouldn't be too bad....

RNG, that Norton is nice! I had a riding buddy back east in the early 80's that rode a Norton. I don't remember what model, but he was fixing it more than riding. I think he got it as a basket case.

Time to go do.... well... something.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. Expect mist and reduced visibilities at times. High 72F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

When I got my first Norton Commando, genuine parts were still available, but junk parts from India were getting pretty common. Five years later I bought a basket case and used many improved aftermarket parts to fix most of the known issues. Making my own wiring harness helped, too. I put 40,000 miles on that bike, including quite a few in England when I flew over with it to attend the Isle of Man TT races. That bike, along with the first one, a yellow fastback, are two that I regret selling. The one Drew took the picture of hasn't run since the day I bought it. Took it to bits, cleaned and polished and painted, put it back together, and parked it in the living room. Most reliable Norton ever!

Replaced a missing nut on the zebra bike yesterday. Used a Nyloc, leaving off the washer so the screw would go all the way through the lock ring. Then cleaned the red grease off a couple of the machine tools using paper towels and parts cleaner solvent. Still have lots to go, some of which I can do with the parts washer. Thinking I should contact Lucas for a refund on the exploded can, I sure don't want a replacement.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Morning all;
Not much going on around here, two wet drizzley days so far.
A little puttering around and that's about it.

Say safe
