62 going to 76. Local weather man said last day of above normal. Should get to the 40s next 4 nights.

Don, that was a Chevy turkey...chasing your Ford.

Kyle, sorry you lost your white duck. Hope you catch the culprit.

I think we've said goodbye to the last hummingbird...none spotted for 3 days now.

Having a hard time typing this morning...coffee so good I can't put the mug down.

Wag, we haven't had our clock changing Sunday yet. Later this month, I think.

Did a dump run/hike/swim with Della and came home to tackle the splitter. Oil change pretty easy, but hydraulic fluid was tough. Manual says disconnect flexible hose from the fitting at the bottom of the tank. Was flexible last time I did it, but not anymore. It's a clear, wire reinforced tube over a 1.25" threaded pipe fitting with a barb. Wouldn't slip off after various tricks, but would twist a bit. So, I unscrewed the fitting from the tank side. Couldn't get but a couple of inches of throw and had to use a pipe as a cheater over the wrench, but it came off. Cleaned it up after 3 gallons of fluid gurgled out. Got too dark to finish, so back out this morning to change the filter and refill.

good morning, 52 going to 68 wet outside so must have rained some

Cody started pulling when taken him out, turning light up and here was the skunk again. Backed off very slowly.

D called from Berlin busy as always. She is taking on an incompetent manager. When her ire is up watch out

Removed the compressor from the van and slid the battery forward and finished servicing it. Had to use long extensions and swivel joints in tight quarters. Left the compressor out and will work on mounting it in a more work friendly way. The new flip work light turned out to be very handy since it can get down in very small cavities

good morning from Quanah Texas
Mostly, wonderful suggestions, I reprogrammed nav system to take me to
Walmart Supercenter in Gainsville, very close to where I turn South off 82 onto 35.
Makes better sense instead of backtracking as I was. I'm headed down 35 later anyway.

2 hours and 38 minutes on nav usually means about five or ten minutes longer if I stay, as I do, at 65-66. Stoplights, steep hills, lots of things slow you down. Coming through these small Texas towns, there is usually a good progression of speed limit drops getting you down to where they want you, often 35. I figure they were radar trap places but never saw any police. I always try to stick within 5mph of speed limit and so far have not had to deal with a school zone. I go irritatingly slow through those based on the faces of the car behind me.

I just drive through other people's small towns like I would through my own small town.
with respect
be a fool on the freeway but slow down in town

had to google time, didn't trust laptop though phone usually is...5:15am
these time changes are actually annoying
I wonder how folks do it when they live near the time line and constantly have to drive back and forth. Talk about confusing. My doc appt is in what time zone?...

I really do need to go food shopping. Trying to get healthy food though have been eating lots of blueberries every day.

good morning and good Monday.

Morning all,
First cup of coffee down, quess I'll get ready for the propane installers to arrive some time this morning. Between 8 AM to noon. Had a minor sprinkle of rain last night so all the loose dirt will be nice and slimy/slippery.

I used to live in Seminole Tx., that was just across the line from Hobbs NM., the state line was the time zone it wasn't bad, it became almost 2nd nature to add or subtract that hour. Always interesting to get somewhere before you left home, then a long "time" to get back home.

Stay safe and healthy or get well.

cattle trucks, I finally saw some cattle trucks.
Empty, had to look while at stoplight, and they were running 10 more than me, at the speed limit. I was looking out for them sucking my proverbial doors off going by but they were good drivers just getting there.

I have left the west coast hordes of EVs and now back in pickup truck land.
Though I bet I'll see some Teslas here near the cities

there is a disconcerting trend I'm seeing in gasoline octane ratings.
they are labeling 85 and 86 octane as regular, and 87 octane as mid grade.
how can they do that?
I'm paying 40 cents more a gallon to maintain 87 octane

are there really vehicles that run fine on 85 octane?
seems like bait and switch to me

and as far as fuel, time for breakfast

up early, now just finished eggs, muffin, and cottage cheese. Trying to get more protein in my diet. Just saw the weather for englewood Florida. That’s where dad is. He has never evacuated, don’t think he will this time. Doesn’t care what I think about that. I will call him in a little bit. 90 years old a stubborn as hell.

Going to spend some time in my shop today, I have been busy and my shop has gotten cluttered. Does my mind good to be in there.

Good Morning.
62° and overcast, but no rain forecast. High in the low 70’s as it becomes mostly sunny.

Yesterday was another day of minor progress. Started out with getting the drone out to take pictures of neighbors corn mazes, I did a few here while I was at it.

One of them is a true maze, the other is for little kids, if they follow the path, they will come out the exit.

I set the elevation and pitch for a 4” pipe under the new walk for the downspout, did a batch of trash cleanup, split up all the cedar siding scraps for kindling with a hatchet, I filled a large trash can with it, seems like a good way to store it.

Swept out the old folks home, installed the washer and dryer
In the laundry room (closet actually), did a few drywall repairs before the walls get painted. That was probably a waste of time, I’d bet that the painter is better at it than me.

Concrete is coming at 8am, rebar needs to get placed first, but other than that it’s ready to pour.
