67°F and1.54 inches rain.

Yesterday morning lived up to the forecast, torrential rain making it an inside day, but that proved a good thing. I was able to finish and submit my Supplemental VA application. Took all morning but that’s OK. Weather turned really nice but could still see surface water. Just piddled about

In town Happy Hour was quite pleasant and a great way to close out the day.

Forecast is more rain today but currently looking hopeful I can get some tractor time.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Thanks for your prayers and concern for my mom. You guys are great.

Unfortunately, she passed away early this morning. I'll be back in touch in a while.

Billy,

Sincerest condolences, sorry for your loss.

Hmmm ... looks like things are working again ... (y)

Yesterday's post that wouldn't post:

Currently 61F with plenty of bright sunshine and heading to around 64F for the day's high.

LWS reports that it only went down to 33.1F so it looks like we dodged the "hard freeze" bullet again ... (y)

Got hopper and the two tube feeders refilled yesterday afternoon, also one nyjer feeder and the suet feeder ... plus scattered some seed and peanuts for the ground feeders.

Went down to the corner and picked up five gallons of gas for the Cub and got it refilled.

Cut and gathered the five largest heads of cabbage. They aren't all that big ... probably didn't get enough sun (and water) where they were planted. Will have to revisit that next year.

Will be no place close to filling the five gallon crock so probably will pick some up from the grocery to supplement the first batch of 'kraut.

Will leave the rest of them go for a while, should have at least another ten days of decent weather to see if they get any bigger.

Picked a one gallon bucket of California Wonder bell peppers, almost all of them no place close to being ripe (still green not red) but we'll use them for stuffed peppers. They made six packages for the freezer.

Also got a gallon bucket picked with the last of the Early Jalapeños, some more Habaneros, Hot Lemon peppers, and a few of those green cherry tomatoes:

Still a bunch more Hot lemons out on the bushes they just need to ripen up.

Got the Hot Lemons and most of green Jalapeños cleaned and packaged up with the vacuum sealer:

Have some more greens and some red Jalapeños still to do, along with the Habaneros. Probably freeze some of those but they supposedly don't keep quite as long so probably will dry the rest of them.

Did some more leaf mulching with the Cub, got back and east side mostly done ... for now anyways ... :giggle:

Took the trash up to the cans at the road.

Today's post:

Currently 75F and sunny. Chance of rain Thursday night into Friday morning with a big cool down on Friday. Only calling for a high of 54F. Warms back up to the 60's and 70's starting Sunday.

Schedule a couple of bills for payment.

Probably take the Cub up and grind some leaves in the compost/wood lot then work on the west down here around the house.

Then back to getting the rest of those peppers put up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday.

You guys are giving me the shivers with all those 40 whatnots. We could have another record high tomorrow. They're saying in the 90s. My air conditioner is still running. Glad this new unit also considers humidity.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.3C and it's presently 17.5C [heading to 22C], partly cloudy & calm.

Well, the first mow of the season is done. The Z-turn 'protested' a wee bit on start-up but fired up and performed great. House/driveway/front-paddock completed.

Today is 'into town' day for groceries, but first there's a 'coffee gathering' for the local Veterans @ 1000. Remembrance Day is not that far off, so there'll probably be a bit of planning going on. I'll reassure them that I can 'take the parade' as commander. :)

That's about it, take care all.

LS with 6ft rotary 8:30- 1345 without a hiccup. Well, except for getting stuck again, but I didn’t shut it off and it ran without hiccup. So feeling pretty good. I don’t normally run the tractor but 2-3 hours before taking a break. 😁😁😁😁

Mostly, sometimes in summer we get 100° heat, but not for weeks at a time. While unloading in gravel pits I sometimes shoot the ground beside the truck with my laser thermometer and see 105-110°F heat.
The summer that I got a touch of heat stroke the temp was 105 in the shade. The heat stroke was my fault, not enough water and I knew I shouldn't have been outside the A/C of the truck having had it before.
But regarding the cold temps, I arrived in Northern Alberta (west of Edmonton), in February 1980 and brought the warm air from Ontario with me. The day I arrived was the warmest day they had for the previous 2 weeks, -35°F.
