Good morning TBN!!
23 this morning w/high in the mid 50s under sun.
Finished installing my air/hyd bottle jack in the 20 ton press and so far I am pleased. Squeezed and squished a couple of things to test. Time will tell now.
Started to set up the solar panel for the Blink cam. Finally got the correct one after three time. Have to charge it before use so will revisit again today.
Going to try and clean up tools from the various projects I have been working on.
Probably mostly R&R for the day.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning! Goodbye freezing weather for central Texas. 42˚F, heading to the upper 60s with a sunny afternoon sky. The house did well in the cold, I can find no damage. The skimmer baskets were full of leaves and the pool floor bot got completely full on the initial cleaning because the strong N wind brought live oak leaves into the pool.

Last week I just missed Checks daughter, she was on a different Royal Caribbean Ship that left a day earlier and made an extra stop and had an extra day at sea and came back a day later. We did the 5 day cruise she did the 7 day cruise. Her ship went to the two ports in Mexico that we went to only on different days. Weather was in the 80s and we had rain on the one day we we had already decided to stay on the ship in Cozumel. No Surprises everything went smoothly. A well planed vacation but I did think about the 16˚ morning at home and wondered if my pool pipes would burst but all the automatic freeze protections worked as they should, with no disruptions in power or gas. The citrus plants were in the 60˚ garage and were happy.

Today I'll unwrap the outdoor in ground plants to see what damage they sustained. I did notice a bunch of ice and a larger broken limb in a tree on the golf course but that must have come from a broken sprinkler head shooting up into the tree on a teens night. There was no lingering Ice after 4 days of freezing weather, except for that limb on the gold course.

Kyle the ice chip looks like a fern.

Don, hope your plants are ok.
sounds like a great time to be away...

I brought my fig tree inside when it started looking unhappy in the cold outside.
First it lost all its leaves, then sat for a bit, then woke up and said let's go.
Growing like mad but can't take it outside until freezing is done.
what's nice is the red flowers that were planted with it outside flowered all winter long.
nice having "fresh" flowers inside.

Good Morning
27° with a high of 44 forecast under mostly clear skies.

Yesterday was an interesting day. I got a call from a friend that is the bassist for the Harry Chapin Band, they have stayed together all these years after Harry’s death, with his brother Steve as the front man and vocalist.
At any rate he said that they were playing at the Sellersville Theater for a sold out show, but he would leave me a couple of tickets at the box office if I could make it. An offer that I couldn’t pass up.

We had a nice visit in the dressing room after the show.
It was funny, that he had shown his band mates videos of my biplane and they knew that I built his bass cabinet, so they were like old friends as well. It was a great show, extremely polished musicians.

I did manage to take the little plane to Reading for lunch, had a great sandwich, Smoked turkey burnt ends on a toasted pita with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a garlic aioli.

Made it home to take care of a few chores before it was time to head to the theater.

Today I’ve got to go down to the barn and throw some hay down from the loft, then get cleaned up and head to the airport for a trip to Palm Beach, which will consume the rest of the day.
