Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 10.8C and it's presently 15.3C, overcast & calm.

Just doing 'sign erection' yesterday arvo and continuing that today. The Prime Minister finally called on the Governor General, dissolved Parliament and officially announced a Federal election of the 3rd of May.

Oh, well... it looks like I won't be going to AGFEST this year. (probably just as well, due to the potential draining of my wallet)

Saturday will be a similar 'sign erection' day, but down South... especially in & around Swansea. I've got a Mate to help with that.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Evening,
Came home from work today to notice that Kathleen drove over the mole trap I put in yesterday close to our DW. I’m not sure I can bend it back into shape, it’s pretty distorted. 😒 So I’ve got grubs and crabgrass on that side of the lawn along with moles 😒 Great Scott 😉

All the snow has melted except on the ski slopes.
Billy, thanks for those beautiful shots , truly breathtaking 🙏

my last manual grease gun was an Alemite,
When I first got my B7610 I was concerned about not having enough grease guns.
I bought a case of Alemite Screw Type Grease Gun Model C600

They were about $3@ IIRC. I planned on dropping one in each vehicle/place I needed a grease gun. Think I used 1.

Randy(wag) is the Prime Minister move a good one?
Honestly, it's a 'grubby move'... unfortunately, to answer your question, (and NOT to get political) I need to explain some of the Westminster system of government.

We (and those who follow this 'system') don't actually have a set 'permanent' election date [such as the first Tuesday of November every 4 years]. We do have a set, maximum, term of government but an election can be called at any time within that term if the government (1) thinks it is to their advantage [ie: they're very popular] or (2) they lose a "no confidence" vote in parliament.

In this case, the Prime Minister waited too long [due to circumstances = the cyclone in Queensland & the potential natural disaster] so that he had to [time wise] deliver an official Budget. His Treasurer did that on Tuesday evening. Officially, the Opposition has a 'right of reply' [a counter-budget] two days later, which was yesterday evening.

The 'grubby move' was that, this very morning [the next day & mere hours after the 'counter-budget'] @ 0700, he, the PM, went to the Governor General (Our 'Head of State' as the King's representative) to dissolve Parliament and, therefore, call a general federal election for the 3rd of May.

By doing this, at this day and time, there was no media news cycle to analyse the Opposition's counter budget and the government can get a jump-start on campaigning.

I don't believe that I've gone 'political', just explaining a political 'system'.
