Good morning TBN!!
58 this morning and should be mid 80 with a cloudy sky
Happy Easter!!

Not much again yesterday.
Went to see my grandsons and fiancé's new house. Very cool to see a 25 year old buying a house. I was well in to my 30s when I did. He is about 30 minutes closer then he was. About 20 minutes now. I look at him and have hope for the generation. He works hard. He got his realtors license as a side hustle!
Then made a HF run. They finally got genny covers back in stock. Perused the store for a bit and then headed home.
It was too late to really get too much done.
Put the battery back in the rider and moved it to the garage. I need to wash it and do it's preseason service. I store it in a mostly out of the weather structure but it seems to be bird friendly. Poop all over it.
Light agenda today. Probably wash and service the mower. If I get real ambitious I may shovel out where the water lies in the tank to get leftovers out and try to decide if I can move to the next phase. We were truly blessed that the bridge is the only thing that got hurt but it is a PITA to drive the old gas hog pickup down and then get in to fuel efficient Buick and then repeat when arriving back home. Personally I would drive the Buick over the river but wife doesn't want to because it is still new :D You know what they say about happy wife.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe Easter Sunday!!

100 red bud trees must be amazing to look at
locally lots of fruit trees are blooming and it's very pretty outside
ah choo

on this day back when a big rain came through NC, flooded the farm, which didn't take much, and the
pine tree pollen wound up concentrated in drying lakes of pollen.
I'd have to hold my breath while mowing it when it dried up
this was an earlier picture, but after driveway got paved, but while I still had the white Laramie diesel dually.

Morning all, 62 going to 67 and cloudy. Windy
Did the dog walk at peddlars village.
Spent some time at the bank and went to Ace for a bag of soil and some canned gas.
Need another gallon of bar oil, certainly seem to be using that up fast.

Spent a few hours putting down mulch, still need to buy more.

Then went and cleaned up around firepit.
Moved the straw bales into the woods and the bench/table back to over by the pool.

Did not get everything done, still need to get some cedar cut to support two birdhouses. The branches holding them now are past their useful life.

Still nee to plant 2 trees and prep the area where I want to have a small enclosed patch of corn.

So many items on the list. Still need to join the two slabs for my friend, clean out the pots on the upper deck for my wifes new plants and flowers. Put the line tree in it's pot outside when it gets warmer. Prep the hummingbird feeder.
More pick up sticks, easy to keep busy.

BIL and wife here later.

Happy Easter!

Drew I’ll bet you miss that truck
everything but running over the same curb three times in Washington NC...
but geez now to haul a fifth wheel, would be marvelous.
big truck, but I found I wanted more tractors vs an expensive new fifth wheel so the tractors
won out. Plus once you start farming, hard to leave to travel

radishes by Easter
pretty small, but at least something to take to my brothers

Happy Easter, All!

Busy day yesterday. Out and about early picking up bolts for newly acquired Bush Hog 84T project, a new sledge hammer handle, and plants for the garden.

Got home, fluffed one pass in garden with disc and spread fertilizer on same. Then I planted spinach, broccoli, tomato's, and zucchini. Hooked up and set the irrigation timer and set one sprinkler for that section.

Plugged in camper, put out slides and turned on the ac so wife would be cool while prepping inside for first trip next week.

Installed new sledge hammer handle after wire brushing the hammer head. Man, it's a chore to find just a handle any more. Had to visit 3 places to find one, and it cracked at the end when I trimmed it to length. Sanded that down and soaked the head and end of handle in fluid film.

Then took the disc off the tractor and hooked up to the Woods RM990 and mowed for the next couple of hours.

Ya'll have a good day.

I went out with hand clippers for a walk, and one thing led to another...
soon I had a pile and had to stop because now I need the chainsaw.
edge of property pretty junky, never cleaned out
I'm just trying to get dead stuff removed and clip branches that go way over into
neighbors.

I was wearing nice clothes so decided that was plenty for today

going to call landlady tomorrow and ask her to send her helper up for several hours.
I'll let him haul this stuff to the woods, and about that much more in waiting.
this small house next door has been vacant for three years while guy rehabbed it.
if he is going to flip it or rent it out, think it would be nice to clean out the junky stuff right
in front of their front door. It's the part of the house/property I never go to but it's right where they park.

Happy Easter.

Big storm blew thru last night about 10:30. 80 mph winds.
Lots damage, saw roof of a barn blown off.

Power still out, and will be for awhile. Someone recorded a big flash at the local substation.
Right after the storm, I heard voices outside. Seems 2 girls, who sounded a bit drunk maybe, had pulled in our drive, and got into an argument with each other, lot of cussing. One must have tossed the car keys out, and one was running around using their phone light looking for them. They eventually got car started, turned around, sat for awhile, almost backed into my fence, then finally left.

Saw on FB someone reported a large teen party to the cops, they had a massive fire going when the storm blew in. They were racing cars down the road, where 1 usually dies every year. Matter of fact, one died yesterday afternoon on that road in a head on crash, but don’t think it was kids in that crash.

Pulled out generator and extension cords this morning. Powering 2 fridges, freezer and my internet.
Also charging my EcoFlow. It only ran 1 fridge for about an hour before it ran down. Don’t let their ads fool you, you better have a real generator in an outage. I really need larger one with 240v to power well pump.

Church service was good, still had power there.
Good thing my wife cooked ham and green beans yesterday, that was lunch. Heated beans up on grill side burner. Good thing I bought propane last week.

At the farm, the new stone road thru our field has brought in trespassers riding sxs into our fields.
Also, the hunter came at 5 am, parked behind our barn. This the one I told no hunting.
My sister left a note on his truck.
