good things good minds think alike
I complained about the pressure tank my first year here, plumber came out and replaced with a whole new unit.
So not the bladder though I could check the charge
pump makes enough noise sounds like it will cough a bearing, no idea how old it is.

finished fussing with rv and ready to take it to dealer tomorrow morning for an inspection and trade in value.
I'm quite sure I will bring it home with no solution that doesn't involve a financial beating.
would rather keep it another year. Now that my old friend has his first rv, means we can meet up places.
but a lot of maintenance if I want to keep it nice. Travel trailer would be a lot easier.
dealer admitted motor home pricing had tanked.

going to get pretty cold tonight

highlight of my day was having to crawl through the window in the garage, again, for the third time..., since the gfi tripped and the stupid garage door battery backup failed again. I need to fit a bigger battery in it, have a spare, maybe wire them in parallel. I'm too old to be crawling through windows onto top of plastic table rated for 300 pounds, that already had a bunch on it, that sits under the window. Have no idea why gfi trips, don't think it's the rv hooked up. I ran the generator on that today and glad I did, took a while to pump gas until it started.

am looking forward to a quiet night with a good book.
Drew have you considered a double throw switch on the outside wall with a generator wall plug. Plug in an extension cord and flip the switch.

34 outside right now, heading to 60.

Will be attending to burn piles in a few.

Back it town, for a while now. Been rough closing out business with the real job. I have four more days, and then I am out for a while on recovery. Seems the timing is just right as I get a break mentally and physically. I had a pain going down my right leg on the inside ab area to my knee. Seems I tore some muscles. Been on and off bothering me for a while. Sometimes a stop in my tracks pain, other times just enough to turn me into more of a grouch. Only took four doctor visits to find it. LOL.

Got lots of ketchup to do, probably will not get to it, so thanks for mostly's summary.

Hope all have been having good days and are safe and sound.

Time to get the tractor moving and the farm maintenance mode in gear.

That cabin up near Andrew camarata’s new mountaintop retreat.
yes but further West on 28
actually my nephew has a home not far from the metal castle
Camarata finally made a video of just skills and not clickbait so I watched his last one where he
welded a lot of stuff.
talking about prepping for the zombie apocalypse. Surprised he didn't build gun turrets in it.

that whole area was the Northern part of the old Borscht Belt where Jews came out of NYC due
to discrimination at home. No blacks, no Jews, part of our history.

Winterdeere,my family used to allow local hunters on the farm in deer season until my Father found a big chunk
out of the side of our house, in the mortar between the fieldstone. Seems some hunter down by the church below, just this side of Bowman's tower,
in the woodline, fired at a deer and didn't think of the clear field behind. Much less our house sitting there. After that, years of no hunting signs went up. We slowly let a few bow and arrow
hunters back in.

of course we did have one strange tenant who would sit up in his tree stand, with a salt lick below,
and shoot the deer in the head from above. Not entirely sure that's legal any more.
of course around here, the only good deer is a dead deer and sadly probably got that way in your bumper.

Good Morning
46° and clear, forecast is for upper 50’s and fair skies.

I don’t think that I’ve checked in for a while, keeping busy with chores.

Wife fell at the hospital after getting blood drawn. Apparently, she didn’t trip, just passed out. Fortunately she was just outside the ER, so they rushes her in.
She hit her head, small cut not requiring stitches, and after various scans and tests had no other maladies. So that killed one day. She is back to normal and at a farmers market today.

Did a couple of welding repairs for friends and neighbors, another one scheduled for today. I also want to make some progress on the small plane, and balance the airflow on the ERV.
We will see what actually gets done.

Quite the display!
That said I guess I'm one of these grumpy curmudgeons .
How to Become a Curmudgeon (And Why You Should)
When ever I see these huge decorations and displays my first though is how much money and time did that cost. I have a hard time frittering away that kind of money, unless I'm shopping for tractors or tools or implements.

43F and "Fair" @ 11:00, heading up to around 54F for the day's high. Nearby LWS reports this morning's low was 30.7F.

Had a roofer out yesterday to survey our roof and give us a quote on replacing it. Seemed like a nice young man, smaller company. Been in business for around 20 years. Lives down the road a couple of miles.

House was built in '68, was re-shingled once (2 layers) ... after the solar heater panels for the pool were pulled. No leaks yet but figured it's about due (57 years between the two of them)

Guy was willing to entertain doing it in sections, in so far as it makes sense to split it at certain point to spread the $$$ outlay over time. Suspect the cost will be rude ... but we'll see.

After he left I got back into basement, moving more stuff around to make room to work.

Got the old water heater tipped over to drain so it won't drip rusty water as it travels across the white carpet in the family room.

Hauled another couple pieces of 2" foam board back into the utility room. Need to get one of those cut down to fill in the last section on the south wall and get it glued up.

Woman has showered and about to head out for an eye appointment ... so I'll be able to shut off the juice to the well pump and see about relocating the control box and pressure switch so I can get the first insulation panel put up on the west wall.

Once those 2 items are done I can start framing the stud wall on the south side.

Last thing I did yesterday was remember to move the pressure washer into the garage so it didn't freeze.

Looks like the sun is trying hard to make an appearance ... but it's supposed to be near 60F and sunny on Monday and Tuesday so will probably hold off until then on any mowing and leaf clean up. Give it chance for more leaves to fall.

Bird feeders are due for a refill, probably tackle that later this afternoon once it warms up a little more.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

Maybe this is a sign that I will not need to drive 3 miles of dirt road to get to Menards. That 1000 vehicles have driven over after a rain.

Good morning! Low of 36°, heading to a sunny 68°

A few delays on the build.... Mother Nature decided to throw some spotty but frequent showers at our area.... not complaining because we need the rain.
And.... I needed to have a break to recover. It's a rude awakening to find out that I can't do what was "easy" just 5 years ago.....

Over the past couple days, took care of those little things that need to be done, just not a priority..... like nailers/backing, clean up scraps, etc....

Back into full swing today, with the son's help. We will attempt to get the roof on, after getting the facia boards and drip edge on. The facia boards are like a 16' long piece of spaghetti..... definitely requires 2 people. Multiple attempts of installing by myself resulted with 🤬🤯.

Now, as long as the wind doesn't get too overly rambunctious.....

Everyone have a great day!
