At 9:30 AM it was 93 with heat index at 101!

86F or 30C is what we are looking at this afternoon. Feels hot to us after having such a long time with under normal temperatures. Getting 10 round bales of haylage delivered later this morning, we’ll see if the tractor can lift the approximately 1,000 pound bales.

Unfortunately, it looks like most of the rain will be to our south today.

The birds have managed to clean out all the black oil sunflower from the large feeder so that will have to be refilled today.

I have a few more rocks to move down to barn from the pile up by the garden .... and then I'll have a little "rock rodeo" and start sorting them out as to size by pushing them into piles with the loader. The photo below is from yesterday, at about the halfway point:

Good morning. Ron I see you found the raccoon latrine. They will use the same place so that is one area that they frequent. Had to dispose of a copperhead on the pavers last night. A toss of a big rock did the trick. They can have the other acres just stay away from the pavers, I go barefoot there (but always with a big light).
A hazy 86 now and it will get to 99 with a chance of scattered showers.

At 11:18 it's 91 with a heat index of 98. This is supposed to be the first day in over a week that are supposed to be below 100. Also we have a good chance of rain.

Man, I feel for you guys! Looking at the map, it looks as though the only area of the country with "normal" temps has been northern New England, I feel lucky!

Started out today with 58 and MUCH less humidity, though we missed 90% of the rain that came by yesterday and last night. Looks like MA got hammered.. again. Just a few sprinkles here. Right now sunny, nice breeze, low humidity, and a very pleasant 77F. (I'll take it!)

79 here, supposed to get into the mid 80's. Much better than the last few days, anything over about 95, I start to stay indoors with the A/C on. I might go do some work on my wife's shop. Or not..... Hope you guys have a good, and if youre still in the heat, take it easy, nothing needs to be done bad enough to get heatstroke or worse.

The chance of rain went from 20 % to 79% so hopefully we'll get the much needed rain.

Morning All.

My temp gauge on my thermostat said it was still 84 this morning. Supposedly we are going to have some rain this morning, I will believe it when I see it. We do need it.

I have to go back to work this week, vacation is over now excep for a long weekend or two (maybe) until well into fall I suspect.

Good Morning 4 A. M. guys. Still 78 after a cloudy day yesterday and some just missed showers. Our best chance of rain will be tomorrow when he winds change and come from the north. Today I'll start on the design and maybe framing of a compass rose for the last section of the circular paver drive.

63 here, headed for 84? Looks like a real nice day, we need it. The 100F days were simply insane. I need to get back to doing some outside work. We don't get that many nice days here.

Low 70's this morning but humid as a steam bath! 80's today which is much better than the 102 we got yesterday which was the 5th over 100 day in the last 11. Many years we never see 100. We somehow missed the heavy rain that was all around us last night, that's happened 4-5 times this year, it's like we have a rain shield over us, we got a few sprinkles and within a mile they got 1/2" and it was that way all around us. We did some nice showers this morning and may get more today.

74 and very pleasant here this morning! Predicted high is 87...should be a great day to mow.
The storm we had Saturday night moved through quickly, but put enough rain down that the grass isn't brown...that's good news!
Maybe more rain on Tuesday...and looks like 2-4 days of steady rain next week (I hope so).

Hi guys, 81 here now just came in from spraying garden for bugs. They forecast rain for today but I doubt if we will see much, if any. Hey Roy how's your buddy the sucky guy? He sent me a PM from LMF the other day goading me for not being on that forum.
