actually I didn't see one bug in that whole wet area, really amazed me. Maybe they hadn't hatched or something; there had been repeated heavy rain so who knows.
But over a thousand feet of ten foot wide ditch that looked several feet deep was just too much standing water for me. The other place just has the pond. Or whatever it is. Just made another hampton inn reservation for later this week; going back to look at it. With heavy boots.
most of this new prospective place is just grass, acres and acres of it. Which will be easy to plant a fruit orchard in with my phd and tree spade. No rocks...boy, this is going to be hard to get used to. Uh, for a minute. And I can lay water lines with my subsoiler easily; have a large quantity of one inch line from my last garden that needed water piped in. Those kind of projects don't seem too hard. Funny, I've been thinking that since my new truck can hold three tons in the bed, I should take a load of big rocks and boulders for landscaping down one trip. Of course if rocks aren't indigenous, which they sure aren't there, they might look funny. Maybe it's because I just can't imagine a place without rocks...
off to the plastic surgeon this afternoon to get some little things taken off my face, and always nervous that little turns out to be something else. After my second melanoma, I am happy to have both my dermatologist and this slicer/dicer guy give me opinions.
