42 F and overcast this morning after yesterday's rain of 2". It's supposed to clear out and be perfect weather on T-day with 71 F. I'm smoking a Ham and some short rib racks tomorrow when the forecast is for 66 F; about perfect.

Well the sun came out today after a dark, windy and rainy night. Taking the neighbor to look at a Jersey cow she is interested in, about an hours drive so happy the weather and roads will be nice. :)

Seems to be where my wife and I hang out on Sundays. Funny how we can go to HD not needing a thing and come home with stuff. Go to HD needing something and they don't have it and come home with nothing.:confused2:

I generally try to get a couple extra of common things, since I am about 10 or 12 miles away from HD. That's one thing about living in a rural area, you tend to drive more, and you have to drive to get anything. And it takes time. If I am going to pick up some milk, it's still about 45 minutes to an hour, just because of the distance involved. I do sometimes come home from HD with stuff I didn't intend to buy, simply because it looked like a good idea. Not that the ideas always work out. :)

Every Friday, I run my errands. Get gas, groceries, visit the ATM, Menards, etc. I even try to schedule all my doctor/dental appts. etc for Fridays !!! Must be working--in August I drove 170 miles, September 260 miles, October 195 miles. I have quite a stock of lumber and a huge supply of hardware and plumbing and electrical supplies of all kinds because the nearest home center store is a 38 mile round trip. There is a mom and pop hardware 6 miles away and I try to get any needed stuff there if I can. Costs more, but I save on gas so it evens out.

The local Feed h/w store (MUCH CLOSER) has PT 7' 1/2 round fence posts for my horse fence for SUBSTANTIALLY less money. Same is true of the 2"x6" x16' fence boards. Pretty darned cool I thought!

I tried to get a elderly lodge brother to come to a lunch meeting on a monday. He looked at me like I was crazy and told me that he didn't go to town on Mondays. I was surprised, he only lived a couple miles outside of town. What I found out was that he had been a dairy farmer all his life, he got his milk check on Tues, and went to town on Tues. That was also the night for lodge meetings. His wife of 50 years said, that as far as she recalled, he had never been to town on a monday, since he graduated from high school. We moved the meeting to tues.!!!

Up at 0500, it's warm and VERY wet. The ducks will be the only ones happy today.

Way too sloppy to go move Walnut limbs and stuff...

I've been working on my list of Blessings to be thankful for and a big one is TBN. A large number of you TBN'ers have been Blessings to me this year.

This is a great place to learn, teach, share, and find outstanding people. There are a few curmudgeons, but even they will freely give of their wisdom and years of experience to a n00b like me. Where else could I learn about hydraulics and Zombie Werewolves in the same place?

TBN is my favorite spot on the internet. I find myself very interested and concerned with all of you fine folk and your trials, tribulations, and tractors.

I look forward to the next year and the incredible number of Blessings I will be able to count for all of the help, advice, jokes, support, and knowledge I will get here on TBN.

Good Morning y'all, may you be richly Blessed this Thanksgiving, and every day, from here on out.

Be well,
David
