Good morning!!!!

Just want to let everyone know that our little Finnly has had a GREAT week at school. We thought we were going to have to pull her out, but all the ladies (principal, her optional teacher, counselor, & special ed administrator) and us, had a good meeting about it. After a good cry by all, they really bent over backwards to accommodate changes to her curriculum. She will be pulled out of the mainstream class for studies. She will join the mainstream for class activities and outside class stuff like art, music and computer classes. They put her back on her previous bus where the ladies who drive it just love Finnly to bits. We told her about these changes last Friday after the meeting and she was happy. They are going to give her special counseling each week, along with her previous speech and occupational therapies.

Come Monday, she was eager to get on the bus, had a great day at school, earned the highest conduct color possible, and the same for Tuesday. Came home in a great mood instead of crying and afraid of home punishment for getting bad conduct grade. I know the Lord has his hand right smackdab in the middle of her education and well being.

Thank you all for the prayers. We have our happy child back.

Good news, indeed. Congratulations on your positive change.

Kyle, so glad to hear things have taken a turn for the better. There are some good teachers and school employees out there. It sounds like you guys are lucky enough to have some of them.

Just looked at my 10 day forecast. Sunshine or Partly cloudy all the way across. Highest chance of rain is 8% on next Thursday. I had to do a double take just to make sure I was on the right site. Maybe I will be able to hoe around some after all.

Finally a dull start to the day, can't complain after such a long run of sunshine.

Interesting piece. I know to dispose of the bodies by burying, but I didn't realise the "second-generation" poison they are now selling builds up to higher toxic concentrations than before. Certainly agree that poison is only a last resort.

Some of the techniques advocated in that article would have moral or legal issues in the UK. The courts have decreed that causing an animal to die by drowning is not lawful. Glue traps will often make the trapped animal bite away it's own legs in an attempt to escape, so are not considered at all humane.

My aim is to keep the rats away from the house in the first place by not giving them feed or places to hide. I am also gradually surrounding the house with gravel borders as they are less inclined to cross over gravel.

Another beautiful spring day is almost over as the sun is about to set.

Up at 1AM to drive to meet my son and turkey hunt near the VA/NC border. Saw at least 200 deer on the drive - most I've ever seen along that road.

I finally got the boss tom around 9AM after quite a bit of calling and waiting. It would be a lot easier if they came into my bird feeders like your pic, Ron, but baiting is illegal in Virginia, and if they came to my bird feeders, I'd rather watch them and listen to them, too, than hunt them anyway. One interesting thing happened at about sunrise - a red tail hawk flew in and landed next to my hen decoy...looked at it for a couple of seconds and took off.

Success at last ! Isn't it funny how some things are so much more satisfying when they are difficult to achieve.

Kyle : So good to hear that all found ways to make her feel happy again, that's what matters most of all.

nothing like starting off the day with some good news, and smiles on a young lady's face.

55 degrees here in rain, on and off for the next few days, only going up to low sixties.
But then, like Larro, I looked at the forecast and next week is six days of clear weather with highs in the low 80's and lows in the low sixties at night.

My orchard fence was finally finished yesterday though they never brought the last gate for the white horse fencing, and therefore the check for the balance remains in my kitchen. I'm sure that last gate will get installed pretty quickly since they want that check. And they aren't getting it until they are done.

I think I've lost six fruit trees. The apples and the pears are doing great, the peaches plums and nectarines are really stressed from wet roots. If the leaves haven't fallen off on some, they are hanging on for dear life it appears. This rain system should only be about an inch total, which is fine, and next week's warm drier weather should make things right.

And maybe next week I go rent that mini excavator. My next door neighbor and I were talking about the excavator and he through his family has gratefully given me permission to cross the main road to the property on the other side, which his relatives own, where the main ditch system is clogged from debris, and clean out about thirty feet of clogged ditch on that side. Then all the water from our side of the road can actually go someplace, other than backing up from that point. Going to have to do some preplanning crossing deep ditches with the excavator, make sure I can do it safely. Expensive machine and they don't provide insurance...need to call my insurance agent about property damage to non owned property while in my care, custody and control. Boring insurance language, but that fine print in this case is really important. I think there may be an exclusion...the big print giveth and the little print taketh away...

Coffee is brewing. 43° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 57° with clouds all day. It rained good overnight. Need to get my rain gauge put out so I know how much rain fell. Did not get motorhome washed yesterday. Put it on the list for weekend.
Kyke, great news.
Drew, will be watching for pictures of the stuck mini excavator.:D
