Kyle, I was thinking the same thing - what's going to be in short supply?

Whipper told me that there was thunder in Giddings when she came to back door and wanted in. I looked on the radar and saw yellow and red in Giddings - did that one small isolated shower hit you also.

I think we got 0.1 !!!! Yippee, hooray!!!

you Texans are mighty hot out there. 73 degrees here, rain stopped, might get a little more later.
And I saw a fun truck yesterday and just had to take a pic.
nice to see the uploader working again

Good evening all. 82F this morning, 98F this afternoon. Sunny w/ light breeze. Did some sweeping & vacuuming before hitting the spots in the lawn that still grow. No rain from the front. Inspected brakes on the Vue, in good shape for 80K, no need to replace for a while yet, have at least 1/8 in wear if the grooves are any indication.

Last night I looked up to the sky and made a half hearted attempt to see something of the Perseid meteor shower, which is supposed to be one of the best ever displays this year. After only a few minutes of searching the night sky, I realised I was way too tired and gave up. Maybe I can catch a bit a sleep in the late afternoon and if there are no clouds, have a more determined try tonight.

Thought of all you sweltering in Texas. Does it fall to a comfortable temperature at night ? If so, why not go nocturnal for a while and try a bit of sky watching too.

This morning was anything but clear skies, with a thick mist pressing down onto the dripping wet grass.

To the left of the picture, in the middle of the pond, you may just make out an ancient abandoned cart jutting out of the water. Story has it that it came to be there after it broke loose, rolled down the hill and flipped over. Usually only the leaf springs are exposed. This may be a good year to see if it is willing to come out.

64 headed to 85 and clearing. Got two nice storms yesterday, got run in from mowing due to the first.

Eric, the Perseids shower is on my plans for tonight...hopefully will be clear enough. I think tonight is the peak. Hope your fog clears.

Heading out to the dermatologist today for a regular check up. I think she'll lecture me again for how much sun tan I have...but I do usually use sunscreen, just outside too much this time of year. Probably do a little shopping while in the city, and grab some lunch with my wife.

Then back in the seat to mow. also need to put the tiller on the tractor to till some food plots now that there's a little moisture in the ground.

70 degrees going up to 87 today on what should be a nice summer day.
Need to get a haircut this morning; he was on vacation last week and I'm getting a little shaggy.

otherwise, a few errands and then back to putting down my weedkiller on the grass trying to bust up my driveway.
And then I might work in the woodshop a little, getting down to the last boxes of tools and parts to unload and I have stuff everywhere; need to get it more organized.

Decided on putting in a concrete pad to the rear of the barn with a open shed roof over it and accomplish my rolling implements that way. Not exactly what I wanted but one has to be content with what one has...Will put the 50K I save into a nicer boat. I might make it three sided; will see how much more that adds. but adding walls just means a wall to hit...though would likely keep things stored in there a little cleaner.

Roy, keep on improving. Buppies is doing fine, seriously busy at work and said just had no time. He'll be back to say hi I'm sure.
