No no offense taken, I know a lot of people here don't want to hear anything that affects there right to the pursuit of happiness - which is to eat anything they want to. I know sooner or later If they are lucky they will get a second chance at life and if they are smart won't blow it the second time. Would you like meat with no seasonings - delicious veggies are all about preparations and seasonings. My wife likes the Happy Herbivore cookbooks. Some people starting out with diet change have to take baby steps, if you have the time (I don't), first start off with breakfast. Then a few meals a week etc. etc.

As far as your mental issues caused by your childhood memories, I'll have to take the DR. Phil approach: Get over it you are a big boy now!

I Had my once a month flat this morning (rock puncture) and went to Bastrop and had to make 3 high water detours. Oh wait, it's the 31st - that makes two flats for this month.
The RV park on Hwy71 at the Colorado river is flooded and 5 of the RVs did not get out and have water up to their windshields. The office also has the river in it. It rain 14" in 6 hours near the Austin Airport. The river is still rising.

You really need to start a nutrition thread. Not trying to be sarcarstic or rude. You have such an abundance of good and helpful information, it would be nice to have a central location to find all your posts, rather than digging them out of this general thread.

Congrats on your success, and please keep the good information coming.

Still raining here. Supposed to be much nicer tomorrow. Didn't get much done in the shop, the outlet thingy will have to wait!

Have a good one!

The gravel cleaning continues apace ... all the small/fine gravel has been double washed (at least) ... halfway through the second wash on the large gravel for the big tank.

Got the UGF's cleaned for it too ... as well as resurrecting a seemingly dead Magnum 330 powerhead /motor (bad switch)

I have absolutely no idea where that powerhead came from ... I had (and still have) a Magnum 200 ... never had a 330 as far as I can recall. It looks pretty rough, like the filter leaked on it ... but the motor runs fine when the leads are wired direct.

Got the rocks done too.

Back to cleaning.

These are handy and a lot cheaper at Home Depot

Drew. Skip the fitting that Kyle posted. Those suck to be polite. If they don't have a double o-ring they'll leak as soon as installed. These are the best for quick repairs on anything under 1 1/2 inches. http://www.supplyhouse.com/Matco-No...pling-400T04?gclid=CM_ziu247sgCFdgGgQodhUMCGQ Anything over 1 1/2 inches just use a Harco 2" PVC IPS Knock-on Repair Coupling (G x G) - The Drainage Products Store If you can find a knock on for 3/4 that's the best way to go.

If the glue joints are popping then you have movement. Or they weren't primed. Sounds like you really need to get that fixed. And move the power line. Typical DIY. Half assed. Deeper and conduit. But you know that.

Good morning. It is strangely quiet this morning, partially due to a thick blanket of mist, but mostly because our grandson has returned home. Dog looks quite lost without his playmate and I am back to thinking what I should do today. A dolly for the log splitter is on the list, using part of an old wooden ramp, with a bit of scrap angle iron to stop the splitter sliding off the edge. I'm not sure if I would have any implements sat on wheels if I hadn't stumbled across TBN. Now the ease with which things can now be moved around has turned me into something of a dolly evangelist.

Don, I don't mind at all if now and again you climb up on that soap box of yours and tell it like it is. Statistically, you are quite probably adding years to the lives of some lucky individuals who read what you have to say and then follow even a small part of the new txdon healthy eating lifestyle..

Working away for a few days next week, so if you don't hear from me for a while, it doesn't necessarily mean I have died from my not quite so virtuous diet.

good morning all. Farmer, thanks, I actually have a few of those I stocked up on for emergencies, if I couldn't get someone else to dig the hole. Since I'm going to replace this entire water hose when the garage project is done, I expect to patch it a time or two before I get through. I don't think what they used had Orings, so who knows but the ones repaired so far, the three earlier ones, have not popped open again. I think the old glue was either defective or they didn't get the glue right. These guys used two part adhesive, purple stuff and white stuff. (actually probably primer and glue)Anyone who lays a water pipe directly to the street without a shut off valve likely did not get the glue right...

a warmer 58 degrees going up to low 70's today, a real heat wave...with rain starting mid afternoon. My fireman helper bought an entire pickup load of flowers and shrubs at closeout and gave me first pick, which was nice, another six little shrubs to plant today plus I got some nice flowers that will last until the next frost I suppose.
Crepe Myrtles are turning bronze out and dropping their leaves, which reminds me to run the leaf sweeper a little today. Found out the tow behind sweeper works remarkably well on lawn, but those brushes don't cut it on my paved driveway. Maybe I should have bought the giant trav vac but for now this works ok. Default is just to blow all the pine needles and cones into the woods, but thirty years of that has dumped a lot of junk into the woods right near my driveway and my hope was to suck it up instead of blow it away. Probably going to have to do a little/lot of both. All the pine trees are just full of brown needles about to drop, the yearly "harvest" and i bet fifty pounds of junk falls off every one of those pine trees. Larro loves it, he sells the pine straw/needles; me, they're everywhere, everywhere....

Lastly I scored some contraband and decided to use it up last night before it was banned forever...
(please note I did not buy bacon, sausage, ham or anything processed in my last supermarket trip)
But with a little steak rub on them, my they were good. Everything in moderation and for sure, less red meat from now on. Much less...
The handwriting is on the wall, we need to read it.

Waking up early this morning or late time change you know. Lots of people with diabetes because of weight and can control it that way. Mine is genetic have to monitor carbs and red meat is a no no. Shots help keep in check now plus plenty of walking five to 7 miles a day keep my sugar In a manageable number. The Fitbit really helps me keep track of what I'm doing.

Cool start today with showers bigger rain for tomorrow then mild with some 70s showing up for our Indian Summer. Beautiful pictures Drew sorry about water line but you will get it straight I'm sure.

Looking for 22Hornet in Ruger M77 maybe it will show up soon

Good Morning

40 degrees right now...high of 54 and maybe some rain today.

If the rain holds off, I'll mow the fenced in area with the walk-behind mower (since it has a grass catcher) to get rid of the leaves. The rest of the lawn...well, I'll just mulch or blow off the leaves.

Inventory yesterday went well...one of the smoother inventories I've been involved with. Started at 0700, done my part about 1500.

Poured second cup of coffee. 48° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 50° with lots of sun. Met buyer at my mothers house yesterday. We are all the same page. Hope closing happens soon. Having a birthday party for Son and DIL today. Wife is cooking their favorite Italian meal. Lasagna.
Drew, 4 burgers does not look like moderation to me. :D
Good Morning All.
