70F light rain mid 80's for and humid.

Could only putter on removing shed wall last evening because of rain,after work hope to cut wall free and start re studding.
E muffin feed little critter and slow roll to work.

74 and rain going to 80 and more rain. Fortunately, the heaviest rain has been east and west of us so far. We have had a plenty already.

Took advantage of the break in rain yesterday to get the ladder out and scrub 5 of the windows and trim on the north side of the house...with all the rain and shade, had some green algae spots. Now looks sparkling clean. Just used Simple Green.

Forgot to start coffee maker again. 66° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with chance of rain. Got lawn cut yesterday. Not sure what I am going to do today.

Flight is scheduled to fly into National (now Reagan) airport in Washington DC. Looks like some pretty bad weather there...I'm expecting a bumpy flight.

Don, got the mail chime installed. Works good at 125'.

I should have taken mine to my moms before I installed it to see if her mailbox is out of range. I think she would benefit from one also. Mine came from Amazon in a big box with several other things I ordered. The mailbox chime box was open and there were no instructions or power cord with it. I called the number on the box on a Saturday evening and the owner answered and was mad at Amazon for lousy handling. It reminded me of Rox's hard time with Amazon with her olive oils. He shipped a cord priority mail and I had it installed by Tuesday.

84˚ before sunrise and it actually feels cool after the heat yesterday. Only getting to 100˚ today after the wind shifted from the North. Need to take the Whip for her morning walk about and then a bike ride. I'll search the local bike shops for some bike shoes today. Even the old ladies in the Saturday morning group ride had bike shoes. When I said I got my vintage bike out of mothballs one lady looked at my sneakers and straps and said yes it looks pretty old . . . .

Waiting for windshield replacement in new subaru. Yesterday was tire alignment and oil change in honda.

At least yesterday there was an equipment dealer next door and i got to check out some Ferris ZTs.

Only 75 degrees this morning going for a high of 97. While it was cool outside, I went out to see if my Mantis tiller would start and run; it did, even though that gas/oil mix is well over a year old.

You could always just let the wife open that big box, letting her think it was for her birthday, Eric. The look of disappointment on her face might be a bit hard to take, but the surprise, joy, and relief she’ll experience as you whip out her real gift from behind your back will be priceless. Have your camera ready.:laughing:

Power went off yesterday at about 5:30PM, and sure enough, there was smoke in the sky to the south. Two small fires, about 1/2 acre each, at the marina about a mile from here. A water bomber circled for about half an hour but didn’t drop, hand crews had it under control after a very quick response. That makes two fires from the same park this year. The house was getting warmer and warmer without the A/C, so after a dinner cooked out on the BBQ I slipped into some swim trunks and gave myself a quick dousing from the shower head on the back patio. Instant relief! For some reason I still had cell service this time, so texted the neighbor to make sure he was OK and called an old friend to see how he was doing. His wife answered, explaining that he was napping after an endoscopy procedure. I suggested that now was a perfect time for her to trade up to a new car, as he’ll have no memory of anything happening that evening.:laughing: Power came back on shortly before 9PM, the delay leading to one more soaking to keep cool. Plenty of time to take in a movie, and I enjoyed watching Charlie Heston again in the original Planet Of The Apes.

Morning! I haven’t been posting much lately, been pretty busy fixing things at home and at the shop. Doing lunch with my retirees group today. I’ll find out what’s up in the ville!

66°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today.

Wife sent me a text on the way to work that the carpenter and his son showed up at 06:10 this morning to start on the roof. I left the house about 05:55, and the dumpster had yet to be delivered. They have typically been delivering them just before sunrise.

Didn't sleep well the last couple of nights, and feeling it today.

It's was 48* this morning and sunny. Yesterday was in the the high 80's and partly cloudy. Looks like today is going to be about the same just a little warmer. They don't show any rain for the next few day's.

We didn't find any hummingbird feeders in town yesterday. I'll made do with what I have for now.

Did get the the AC electrical system working in the camp trailer. Getting new tires for it this week and packing the bearing, that levels the water system to check. Then just finish some little things on it.

It is pouring down rain again. Flooding across the road to the office, but not deep enough to worry about.
My last roof replacement, they delivered the dumpster late (roofer had shingles off and waiting), and showed up with a 10 yd instead of larger one i requested. Then when i had to have it dumped mid project, tried to bill me extra for the extra trip. I didnt pay.

The company we have been getting our dumpsters from is the same company who has the contract for trash pickup in our area. They've actually been very good to us, even waving some fees. Of course, it probably didn't hurt that we've spent a ton of money with them in the last two years during our cleanup and remodel. We ordered a 40 yd again, as we still have some stuff to get rid of in the barn, in addition to the roofing materials. Hopefully, this is the last dumpster at our place in our lifetime.

Our roofer had a backup plan, and brought a trailer to put the stuff on in case the dumpster was late. Wife told me it finally arrived about a half hour ago.

82 currently was 66 this morning. Humidity is low. Nice for July.

Spent yesterday hauling in hay. 7 loads 82 bales. Still have 40 to haul in. Probably going to finish tomorrow. Currently waiting on allergy shots. Then to school for kindergarten phase in for oldest boy.


Eric I gave my wife a gift one Christmas with a disclaimer. “This is not what I thought I was ordering and I didn’t have time to return and find something else.” She was happy I had given her the disclaimer. I then showed her the add and she liked the picture in the add and agreed that it wasn’t the same and she would have probably ordered from that add also.

Air Fryer ordered on Prime day arrived, have to find it a home. Somewhat larger than I anticipated. Will have to try it out later.

Heavy showers training over us now, .84 “ in the last hour, gusty south winds 20-25 mph. Humid and just lain miserable outside.

Dealing with sore swollen knee, no idea what it is, maybe gout. Swelling isn’t as bad as in the past but the soreness and stiffness is. I’m trying to pretend it’s ok. So far the prednisone isn’t fixing it.
