Good morning to all! Low of 45, going to 74, clear skies.

The hummers are at the feeders this morning, looking in the window as to say: "we want some fresh nectar".... So that's first up this morning.

Then just take it as it comes today, might go into town for some errands. We'll see.

Drew, sorry to hear about your muscle cramps, not a pleasurable experience at all.

Ed, glad to hear your little road trip was a success! Prayers out for the experience of a new word sticks around!

Ron, I'm curious as to why you keep netting over your pond? We have plans to put in a small garden pond and I'm wondering if I've missed some aspect.

RNG, do you sleep? Seems like you are constantly going...like the E-bunny on steroids....:D

David, glad you are finally getting ahead on the mowing. Enjoy the outside as best you can.:)

Everyone have a great day, relax and enjoy. Prayers out for those needing.

It's not to bad this morning 43°, yesterday was sunny and in the mid 70's with quite a bit of wind. Today is going to be about the same. They don't show any changes in the forecast for the next few days.

Made it out to the rifle range yesterday. Didn't have to change any thing on the guns and the neighbor liked the cartridge guns. We had dinner with the wives in town afterwards.

I would like to get a few little things done today, I'll see how that goes.

We are getting things done like power of attorney, bank accounts and paperwork for are only daughter. But she seem to be more worried about getting rid of the things we have accumulated over the years. I have told her that she should sell the stuff and not just haul it to the dump. She has habit of doing that with things she doesn't think she might use.

Hope everyone has good Sunday.
CWB.

It's understandable, CWB, that the things you and your wife treasure might not be regarded the same way by your daughter. But there's no reason to start getting rid of them before you're through with them. When my mom's boyfriend passed, he left the house full of his stuff, her stuff, and my father's stuff. Tons of old clothes, kitchen junk, tools, sports equipment, furniture, the whole nine yards. Not much of it was of any use to me, so I hired an auction firm to come in and organize it all and set up a sale. Most things went for somewhere between ten and fifty cents on the dollar, but the important thing to me was that the house was empty and could be sold. And I don't think my mom's boyfriend, my mom, or my father minded at all!:)

I do sleep, Ted, but seldom straight through and eight hour stint. From talking to my older friends, it seems pretty normal as sleep patterns go. :confused3:

I wish I felt like the E-bunny on steroids! Or one of the feisty hummers buzzing just outside the sliding door. I still get things done, but not like I used to ten or fifteen years ago, or when I was a kid back in my thirties.

70°F and no rain

No big plans for the day. Maybe some football, grill some shrimp, play cards later with friends.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

well, I'm out of the woods.
Not medical, on the driveway...;)
6 pails today, for sure enough, think I'm about half way done.
Problem is weather may not cooperate from now on.

shower felt good, still need to get some of the last lumps of tarry goop off me.

My friends in Delaware just left on a 23 day road trip to see his Mother in Port Townsend, WA. They have made this trip many times, just what I want to do some day. At least I'll be entertained for the next two weeks with pictures; he's a good photographer and they are quite the tourists.

There is a large Heron Rookery about a mile from our place. They can and have removed all the fish in pond within hours. So I keep the net over the pond to keep them and leaves out of pond.

We're finally down to only 20% chance of rain in the forecast. The last 2 days, I got 8.46" that I measured in my gauge. That doesn't count whatever ran over night before last; probably about 2 inches. And today, it's overcast, had plenty of mist this morning . . . BUT . . a low this morning of 65 and forecast to go for a high of 71!!!! Now this is my kind of weather. Too bad we don't have more of it.

Looking good, Drew.
Think that is a flexible skill? I have many sqft of concrete I’d like to powerwash, acid stain, and seal. You’d be very welcome.

CWB.

Was talking to my lawyer when we got mom's POA. He was telling her about the children that he had delt with as a lawyer who had sold their mom's and dads homes and other stuff and split, leaving them all alone. We had a family member take a good amount of $$$ from their parent and just kept acting like they did everything right. Hope and pray everything goes well for you but be careful. Ed

40 degrees right now...high, about 60 or so

With the wind finally leaving us alone for a while we were spared a frost last night by only a couple of degrees , though I wouldn't have known that without a thermometer as the sun is out early today in a cloudless sky.

Back in 2004 I put a few sweet chestnut (Castanea sateva) nuts in plant pots. Some were gathered from a friends tree and others were being sold as food in a local market. After 3 years they had grown tall enough to plant out. I thought if I was lucky, I may live long enough to collect a few thinnings as fire wood. They seem to like this soil and to my surprise several have fruited this year. Even better, the strong winds have brought the nuts to the ground before the casings have split, so I get to try a few before the squirrels.

Do I have to wait until December, or would it be ok to light the fire and play Nat King Cole a little earlier this year ? Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting...) - YouTube

Good morning all, 58 going to 66 with a 60% chance of rain. Calling for rain through Thursday night. Need to deliver some paperwork that we forgot to mail, no other plans.

Eric, are they Chinese chestnuts or do they originate there? We used to have American chestnuts until a blight came through and killed them all. I remember cutting up one log for firewood when I was very young to run a saw that was American chestnut.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

64 and drizzle going to 71 and more rain. Drizzled or rained all day yesterday and never got out of the low 60s.

Nice chestnuts. I've noticed a lot of pecans on the trees this year, and hope the squirrels leave me a few.
I'll likely do some paperwork and planning today, watch a cowboy movie, start a new book, and clean out a couple of boxes of old cables and electronic stuff I've saved over the years but doubt I'll ever need. I'd rather have the shelf space back to better organize. Might even go out and wash windows in the rain.

Good morning! 70˚ heading to 84˚ This week I need to interview a deep clean maid for mom and sell her F150 to my older brother. This morning I need to air out the cat. Whipper has a new neighbor puppy, Marley. The fence between them had to be modified (according to HOA specs, black chicken wire) because he could crawl through.

Might jump on the road bike this morning to explore the neighborhood.

Poured first cup of coffee. 52° with a bright moon this morning. Heading to 71° with rain showers in afternoon. Nice fall day yesterday. Got a lot done. Came in and to watch a movie with wife. Fell asleep. Smoked a steak on the Treager. I could take a whole year of this weather. Need to put some insulation in house attic. That will mess up sinuses. Taking a shower should help clear that up. Then install cabinet door and drawer pulls on new cabinets. Could not find a match for current kitchen cabinets. Going to take them off dining room cabinets. Install new ones on the dining cabinets and removed ones on new cabinets.

Ed, I have heard some real horror stories of mismanaged estate closings. I have survived 2 mostly with little problems. It seems the more people that are involved the more problems there are. My mothers had 16 people. My wifes mother had 2. Sat down at a table one evening and divided the inheritance up. While we love our grandkids. We are leaving our estate to our 2 sons. They can share it with their kids if they desire.

Drew, Port Townsend is a nice area. Visited that area when we visited with Garry Summers. One of the original Moderators on TBN. He is still around. We visit on Facebook. Glad you are pacing yourself on drive coating.

Thomas, racoons chasing a deer.

Good Morning All.
