Good morning!!!!

Thomas- I read your post and checked. There are globally 16 known tick borne diseases and 20 known mosquito borne diseases in humans. The list is still expanding. None of theses diseases are "pleasant" and some fatal. As the climate changes I would bet that the CONUS will be seeing increasingly more of these diseases in the healthcare system.

Good morning to all! It was 39 at 05:30 and raining. At 08:30, the rain was mixed with snow. By 09:30, full snow, large flakes, covering the ground with about 2" in an hour and a half. WHAT??? ....

Obviously, it was your turn in the tractor trick barrel.

Hope things dry out and warm up soon; having it parked out there in the snow must be killin' ya. I know it would be me...:stirthepot:

Mosquitos and/or ticks + increasing numbers of unscreened immigrants = more exotic diseases spreading in our population. Just yesterday on the radio I heard that measles and typhus, once thought nearly extinct in the US, are staging comebacks. And now we have the zika and west nile viruses in our area, for the first time. All this is made even worse by the folks that for whatever reason decide not to get vaccinated. More signs of the approaching apocalypse.

So...the tractor delivery...the driver called me last night at around 6:30....said he was still 3 1/2 hours away and would like to deliver in the morning instead of in the dark. I said sure, would be better.... So at 6:30 this morning I was outside in the cold pouring rain unloading the tractor and the implements. Got soaked to the skin and very chilled. Tractor got parked, I warmed up inside.
For the brief time that I got to operate it...all I can say is WOW! Now I have to wait for everything to dry out....

There were a couple of small items that were negotiated in the deal that weren't shipped, so called the dealer and he's going to send them out....no big deal. Now I need a nap....

Here's the only pic I took so far, once the weather breaks, I'll take some better ones.

Everyone have a great Friday! Prayers sent for all.

Congrats on the tractor, based on the picture it looks like one of the things they forgot to ship was the cab.

RNG- Well posted. 2 people died recently in Siberia from the Bubonic Plague after eating raw rodent meat(marmoset?). I forgot their crazy reasoning, but Darwin ruled the day.

I’m thinking raw rat meat is not a way I will acquire anything!

Randy- I checked about the two who died from Bubonic plague. They ate raw marmot kidney for "good health."

I’ve heard mom talk about them eating groundhog, but they cooked it. Nothing worse than squirrels and rats for carrying plaque.

Yay! My daughter and son in law finished working on their flatbed trailer and it is gone from my place. I have my 3rd bay back in shop, time to move some things around, get some maintenance done on tractor and finish mower and see if the pasture is dry enough to mow. It is so much better mowing when I can get in early and keep it short. The last few years it has been too wet in some parts to mow at all. I use a mix of mowing and spraying to keep the bad weeds in control and if it is too wet to mow, I can't get in with tractor to spray either. 3 wheeler is running great, so might have to do some spraying with that, it goes pretty good if not too wet.

Congratulations Ted. Was it Mike that delivered it?

No, they did a hot-shot driver....John and Mike were going to do it today if they couldn't line up a shipper. I would have liked to meet them in person!

Congrats Ted, I will bet that the delivery driver was surprised to be in the snow if he's from Austin

He was actually from California, he had been working the oil fields in the Austin area hauling equipment around. He got lucky, he was heading west and left from here and probably missed the snow.

Ted, finally, yeah, congrats on new tractor. I love the picture.

long day outside, watered for hours, then picked the first beet, a Chiogga,
which if sliced side to side shows a red and white pinwheel inside.

Congrats Ted, good looking tractor. If I get a new tractor next year (wife is encouraging I do), LS is at top of consideration right now or another Kioti.

LS, great looking tractor! I’d love to have a backhoe to play with, but I can’t justify it unless, as Ellen says, she rents me out.

Got a good nap earlier for 1 1/2 hours....felt good! Woke up, most of the snow gone, back to rain. It stopped a little while ago, so I ran out and got a couple more pictures.

Now I am seriously thinking about not moving.... Those mosquitos and ticks are giving me second thoughts for sure!

Both are great guys Ted. If you ever get near Austin ..... you should go visit John.

I drive by two other LS dealers to do business with RCO. Two tractors, a Woods 72" rotary cutter, Woods 84" grader and an LS 84" rear finish mower.

Ted- You go back to sleep and wake up and ..... Yes! It's still here and no snow. A really nice looking rig. Wifey's and GF's may not like their pictures taken; but they hate competing with a tractor photoshoot. ;)...

New rig; new plans, and new opportunities
