A little excitement here yesterday. My Bud's dad aged 93 was 911'd to the local hospital due to aspirational pneumonia related to his advancing Parkinsonç—´ Disease. Fortunately he has +ly responded to aggressive treatment.

"... vacations were about what we did, now they seem to be about what we ate, a sure sign of getting older."- Don. Sadly I agree. I like the "Special, Under the Counter Menu."

Ted- Enjoy the pork roll.

RonJH- That was a horrible motorcycle-truck accident. The State Police are still trying to recreate the accident.:(

It's tough to follow and respond to all the activities and challenges here while on the road, but it would be worse trying to catch up when we finally return home tomorrow (hopefully). At least I have a clue what's going on with all of you.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

I went to the horse races in Detroit, MI, once and to the dog races in West Memphis, AR, once. Never saw any reason to go to either again.

Bird, I’m with you, my favorite part of dog racing was when they let me go home!

Frank, thank you.

Wasted the last hour writing letters in triplicate to Orlando Police Dept, etc saying no
I was no longer the registered owner of the black Jaguar XJR, not for more than a year.
Hopefully nothing fishy going on here though sad to see writeup saying stolen, wrecked and abandoned.
Well so much for the next guy taking care of it.
Told the police to contact the used car place I sold it to, gave them owner's name and cc'd him on letter.
Hope he has his paperwork in very good order.

Everything is picked, watered and in good shape. Time to just chill, will watch an Amazon movie

Thanks for the prayers and + thoughts. Daughter is slightly better (left eye had some improvement), she is resting. Wife stayed home with her today while I took grand daughter to church with me.. she was promoted to next class (starts kindergarten in fall) so was happy about that.

Picked up a broken rotary laser this afternoon for $20, got it spinning, one of the leveling vials is useless, perhaps with the other two it will work. it has some issues but a little tinkering might get me a usable rotary laser (15+ years old) with detector that works. It is older DeWalt that uses the 18v battery which I have a couple of along with a drill.

Thankyou all who shared your thoughts on friends who ask for your gear if you die, they are good friends and I would probably do the same to them, I did particularly like the golf club comeback:laughing:
Anyway, it was -1C here this morning, I know you all think this is pathetic but to us it is all relative, we are simply not used to tempos like that and we whine so loud it sounds like a fleet of Jumbo's turining off, we go to north Queensland and when it hits 20C they wear a jumper and complain of the cold, I put shorts on at around 18C.
Anyway I had the mirror demisters and seat heater on this morning, I love leather but it is soooooo cold in winter, in anther 6 months I suppose you will all be complaining and I will complain about the heat.
NB. My will is quite specific as to who gets the cameras and my Lie Neilson chisels are locked away along with the block planes.
Best wishes to all who are unwell at this time.

Almost perfectly still outside at the moment, with mist blurring the outline of distant trees.

After a couple of hours in a hay field, trying to keep on top of the ragwort, I took a much needed break under an old oak. A grey squirrel paused on his assent of the tree trunk, eyed me up for a few seconds, then carried on up and out of sight. It didn't take long before I heard it disturb a bird. The assault went on for several minutes until finally a magpie flew out and the squirrel was left to gorge itself on the contents of the nest. No doubt that magpie has done the same thing in the past to smaller songbirds.

If nature wasn't so content with what we call cruelty, by now it would have found a way to for trees to produce nuts and berries all year round that taste even better than chicken (or Ted's pork roll :) ).

Bunyip, Lie Neilson chisels - are they the ones that are really good for tight paint can lids ? :D

64 going to 90.

Yeah, Eric. Pom???

Bunyip, I had to look up Tibetan spaniels. I bet yours is fun.

We went hiking as a group in the woods (bears' new home) yesterday and found a few more downed trees from the storm last week. So I've got a couple day's work once the dying leaves dry out the trees, and cooler weather arrives. No bear sightings yesterday.

good Monday morning all. A nice day here, going to be warm and sunny.
I've been packaging tomatoes, have four gallon ziplocs full of almost ripe tomatoes, hope they
survive in food pantry's cooler til tomorrow. Big week for veggies, tomatoes, okra, green peppers, squash all getting
boxed up. Headed out to pick the green peppers now, wanted them as big as possible.
Plus I made up the last case of my patriotic potatoes, little bags of red, white and blue potatoes for patriotic potato salad.

Looking forward to tomorrow, carpenter coming to put in fourteen foot long counter top in garden shed, replace the rotten one in there, plus put in a new sink and faucet.
Had to wait until I was done in there, so I'll have job this afternoon moving everything off the counter so they can work. Am using whatever he has in hand, told him white was fine. Considered covering it in stainless but formica will work fine and look hugely better than what's in there.

Pom; had to hunt for that and it's wonderful. Look at all the nice names we can call Eric!
