26 here, did a little chainsaw work yesterday. Cut down a cherry tree that was growing too close to the new shop. Like a giant bush, it had as many branches as a big oak or maple, all twisted around. But got it done, now got a couple more to go. Neighbor there helped me clean it up, I gave them the firewood chunks. Nice folks. I have been offered a couple of contract jobs, but all have been too far to drive. Very little in the way of jobs in our county, pretty much better bring your money with you. Congrats on your plane, Irv!

It is sloppy wet outside. I wonder if my finre finally went out (it was still smoking a bit last night at 6pm after 7 hours of rain.

Today I need to buy the Framing nail gun. It is either the Hitachi at Lowe's for $199 (plus hopefully the 10% military discount), or the Rigid for $229 (maybe military discount?) at Home Depot.

I was in Harbor Freight yesterday and I could NOT BELIEVE their central Pneumatic framing nailer was only $79!!!!! Is it REALLY That bad!

Yesterday I fed the fire once early (around 7am) and I moved the tractor down by the house.

David I don't have the Harbor freight framing nailer, but I have bought several of their 18 guage nailers and staplers, and they were and are junk. I have owned some other chinese brands and they were OK, but I got a rigid from Home depot a couple of years ago, and let me tell you that is a great unit. It has many design features that make it a joy to use, and the results of the work it does are superior. Just my 2 cents, but I love my Rigid.

Oh Brrr! It's 16.2 F here this morning with crystal clear skies and a white frost on the ground as the sun begins to peek up. Gonna have to break out the wooleys to do anything outside today. Maybe it's true that there is nothing between us and the North Pole but a barbed wire fence that's down.:laughing:

Yep Roy, it seems that the cold air washes down from the high plains into our lower elevations in Texas almost like water rushing down a canyon. However, later this year and through Jan-Feb-Mar, I'll take our weather to yours for sure. This is a bit of a fluke, but it brought us lots of precip and the snow with its slow melt is a big plus. My allergies are actually clearing up and a massive number of bugs have been exterminated, so it's all good.
