a much warmer 49 going up to 73 today. Foodshopping, then back to work outside. I have to do a little weedeating around the barn, first to show are always the weeds, though some flower and are pretty. Yesterday I watered half the new trees with the water wagon, today I do the other half. Amazing how much work this rolling rain barrel saves me vs my prior method.

Town meeting today, which is why I'm posting later than usual.
Sometime today I want to contact the local SSA office to find out why I received a "one time" payment (almost $8K). SSA has screwed up before...just want to make sure they're not going to be asking for the money back in a few years. I put it in my savings account...that's where it will stay too.

didn't you just have a birthday Roy? ;) Manna from heaven.
will your town meeting be as lively as some of the others I've read about?
Or is moose avoidance on the agenda?

waiting for things to open to go downtown. Normally I would run through McDonalds. No more. I made an cheese omelette this morning instead.
If I can cut out ice cream and fast food, my weight works its way down. Seems easy right? I wish I had more will power.

too bad we lost actor Bill Paxton. He had a lot of interesting roles.
we need to remember heart disease is number one cause of death and
to be more careful about what we eat. Don has inspired me though the sausage
crumbles in my eggs this morning were awfully good.

If we all actually paid attention to "everything in moderation" we would all live longer.
The average American consumes 94 grams of sugar a day, and if you saw how big that pile was in front
of you, and thought about your body trying to process all that, you might not head for the sugar bowl twice
with your spoon. We are eating triple the amount of sugar we ate on average in 1970. That's a remarkable change of diet
and it's almost like the food companies have the mass of population addicted to sugar. Creepy.
Thank goodness for the organic food aisle, and as always, read the labels.
Even better, grow it yourself like most of us do. My beans and snap peas are in, will be popping their little heads up shortly. Now don't let that
nasty Northern cold weather come down here please. It's a delicate time...

58 this morning and headed to 60 today. Thunderstorms currently may last a couple hours.

Take wife to work. Then get parts for truck. Seems alternator went out. Then will get to migrate chickens.

Another out break of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza has hit southern Tennessee. Looks to be in a breader flock. I got first phone calls about lunch Sunday saying it had been found. 30 more farms under quarantine, and they will likely be depopulated along with all the backyard birds in the area. To create a host free zone so the virus will die. Going to be a big hit for producers in that area. The breader barns are where the eggs for the broiler chickens come from.

45 out this AM. Thanks for all the kind words on the silo. Some noticed that poison ivy. LOL. I never did figure out how high it went up. Got to measure it today. I should also post some interior shots of the tree. It kind of meanders its way up and out. Yeah there is a lot of concrete at this place. I got slabs and foundations all over. Today I think I will throw some seed down. And move the last of the root and vine pile to the burn pile.
Have a great day all. Be safe.

Burning poison ivy is very dangerous. (just in case you didn't know)

I love your barn, it looks huge. Was it a horse barn?

36 and going to a high of 46.
Later after my dump run I will try moving some more of the piles of snow and scraping the driveway down to gravel.

Eric Salop; we jig for freshwater herring through the ice in winter.
