73.2F and sunny @ 10:45, high today predicted to be 84F.

Spent almost all day yesterday cleaning up under the big double trunk oak tree ... weed eating (while trying to avoid poison ivy ), pick up weeds and leaves, cart to compost pile ... then used Stihl blower to give it the final touch. Parts of this area had been sprayed with Roundup ... but I need to hit the areas I could not get to before I cut down the weeds so I could see what I was driving on.

I want to add composted topsoil and plant this area in grass ... because, of course, I need some more lawn to mow ... :confused2:

Also picked most of the weeds out of the large, couple-year-old compost pile so it can be re-tarped until I'm ready to screen it.

My left wrist seems to be complaining about all the activity ...

Have had the AC off for the last couple days ... hopefully will go towards offsetting last month's bill ... which was rude, due to an estimated bill the previous month.

Have stopped taking pain meds for my mouth ... I think all of the stitches have come out at this point.

69°F and .84 inches rain Sun shining through, apparently our tropical whatever has passed. No complaint, we needed the rain.

Back to mowing provided it dries enough. I don't care for slippery slopes.

It's a chilly 62 here in the Blue Ridge mountains this morning, right at 3,100 ft elevation. When that sun comes over the hill top and shining through the trees like stained glass, it feels like an Easter Sunday sunrise service... God is everywhere...

52F at dawn now 80 should be the high for the day w/comfortable breeze.

Been putter day and shall continue until pillow time.

Warm up arriving tomorrow well into upper 80's + least till next weekend,sure glad all the trimming mowing done.

Been good year for fawns 5 around the homestead this year,and a lot of turkey chicks.

Beautiful day here, around 80, nice dry cool breeze, got the windows open, every now and then I get a whiff of burnt building!

just came in from a long and very fun day outside. First detailed the Outback which was looking too much like a road warrior, unidentifiable things sucked up into vacuum cleaner when poking around under seat...definitely time to clean. Then I greased the tractor and FEL, cleaned off the FEL a little with a rag and some paint thinner. Between exhaust carbon and grease bits all over, another long overdue cleaning. Feeling quite pleased with myself with doing a job I had put off, then mowed the fruit orchard with the Gravely (and the wheel stayed on...), roundup'd some driveway weeds, and then went to chat with my fireman neighbor.

headed to the hot tub to soak, hmmm, I think it's Miller time.
there is something wonderfully decadent about floating in 103 degree water drinking an ice cold beer.
Choice of Budweiser or Ultra Light. Big salad for dinner, will go with extra calories of good old Bud.
I only drink one beer which reminds me to put one in the freezer for ten minutes.
