24 right now...high in the low 30's.

Last day of work until 02 January! I'm looking forward to the time off. Yesterday, work was really busy. Doubt much goes on today though. Our plant manager's last day....officially, he's retiring at the end of 2020, but with the shutdown, this will be the last day I see him. Good guy, definitely an "old school" manager who came up through the ranks (started of as a polisher 30some years ago). A bit rough around the edges (so am I, BTW) but a good guy to work with. Got him a bottle of Wild Turkey for a Christmas/Retirement gift.

Old school with common sense is the best. Good luck with the replacement.

Ron, my Hunter furnace is in good shape and still 85% efficient after 25 years. They made 'em to last, so good that the company that made them went out of business.

Don, my concern about the shot is waiting in line for my turn. Some of the places here are going to be drive threw. What if you had a bad reaction as you are driving away?

Drive-through is a bad idea for the vaccination, like you said there are a certain percentage of people who are getting bad reactions.

Good morning! 65˚F heading to the 70's before the cold front comes through this afternoon and lowers the temps to the 30s for Christmas.

We are getting together for the Park cedarcide this morning - should be a good day.

Going to 47° today. The meltdown continues, now in a flood watch. The wind was real cold yesterday blowing across the snow, but a lot melted.
Getting hair cut later today.

Wife said Walmart was a zoo yesterday with checkout lines to the back of store.

You guys were guessing car types, I was looking at all the open room in the garage.

Buppies, have a good day.

Paul, how do you "tune" the ports in those speakers?
do you use insulation inside?
I'm assuming the ports have the most to do with bass and midrange while the tweeters
do their own thing.
Do you build your crossovers from scratch or buy assembled tunable ones?

The box volume, port area and shelf length are calculated based on the driver resonant frequency and the desired low frequency performance.
The midrange is in a sealed box of its own, and the high frequency driver is mounted directly to the waveguide, also sealed from the cabinet.
The crossover net work is built from scratch as well. I do buy the inductors rather wind my own.

48°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 57° today. Windy this morning, too, around 17 mph according to the iThingie. The rain is supposed to move in around 2pm, and the temps will start falling around sunset down to near 20° overnight. Fortunately, it looks like the rain will end before the temperature drops.

Stopped at WallyWorld on the way home from work yesterday to pick up one more thing for The Wife. Madhouse.

I did finally get out to take a look at the Great Convergence in the evening, about 5:30pm. Since the telescope is still buried in storage, I just used binoculars. Wife came out to look, too. Yup, two planets next to each other.

RNG, my Wife and I use that Find My app as well. Since she drives all over the area for trainings, its a good way to know where she is. It also makes it easier to know when to start dinner, for both of us.

I didn’t want you driving all the way to work and not find anyone there.

.
My son is supposed to go into his office tomorrow, I suspect he will find it locked.

Good morning to all! Low of 22, only going up to 35 today, wind started around midnight. Hopefully it won't get to gusty.

Today will be "rearranging the shop" day.... won't be hard, just time consuming. This time it will be arranged for better production 'flow', and easier access to the tools. I hope my envisioned plan works, maybe just a little fine tuning would be ok.

I have been following another thread, "Rant about shipping"..... I have a package that was supposed to be delivered back on Dec 12th... still sitting in Irving Tx..... I paid top dollar for shipping, believing I would get it with time to spare.... not! (A Christmas present for the wifey)

Then, just last week, I ordered some casters at a dirt cheap price.... $21 for 12 of them... including FedEx 2 day delivery. Guess what? Got them in 2 days! Ordered another set yesterday... scheduled for delivery tomorrow.... Why can't I get the package ordered on the 8th? OK, rant is over.....

Gonna go play in the shop now....

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning all, 35 going up to 43 and......Sunny!
Ground pretty frozen this morning, but snow is getting thin in spots from melting.

Phil - 2 convertibles in Mass. Guess they have good heaters? Like the Mustang.
Rick - water looks like glass - nice view - good luck with the American version of a fry up
L4N - hope it doesn't get too slick for you = looks like a white xmas 4 u - calling for rain here

Off to fetch some firewood, don;t know, might take out some brush for trails.

Stay safe and be well and happy holidays if I don;t get to chat later.

Well we had some good news today. Grandbaby is gonna be here for Christmas doctors decided to go ahead and induce labor on our daughter. Baby should be here tomorrow

Really sucks that with covid going on, we can't go see our daughter at the hospital to be there for her first.

Congrats!
My deceased Brother was born on the 27th.
While he was a child, between about 2 and 12, we celebrated his birthday on both the 27th of Dec and usually the 27th of May (my birthday), but sometimes 27 June, my Grandfathers birthday.

Good afternoon, after a morning of jet washing and getting chilled to the bone where the wind blown spray came back and found it's way through my waterproofs, it is good to be spending the rest of the afternoon inside feeding a hungry fire.

Rick, I have only tasted turkey cooked in an oven and am more used to "VFD" being used as shorthand for "Variable Frequency Drive" (as used for adjusting speed of induction motors). Hope your VFD cooked turkey is a lot more appetizing than a fried motor drive. :)

Dftodd, a grandbaby is a fantastic Christmas present. Congratulations !

26-49 today and light winds compared to yesterday’s 30+ mph all day. Looks like around 2” of rain tomorrow night, that’ll put us over 10” in December.
The wind killed my Peanuts gang inflatable only inflatable I’ve ever owned, I know they’re tacky, but I love Charlie Brown.
When I went TS last night to pick up the critter food and litter, I noticed they’d taken down the curbside pick up area barrier, but they still have the service. I’ve got to unload the goodies today, and I’m expecting the swivel collars and flag today, new ball for the top tomorrow. I’m not going to put it back up until this storm passes.

Our older cat named Charlie, but is female, will be 21 Feb 1 if she lasts that long, looks like she has wasting syndrome, never a big cat, but down to about 6 lbs. But she’s still eating, grooming and has a cold wet nose. She was our shop cat for 15 years, when we retired I brought her home. She’s a rescue from the shop area, runt of the litter.

I’ve owned three supercharged cars over the years, one Roots type and two turbos. My favorite was the ‘89 Twentieth anniversary Trans Am.

Better get busy.

Well, as promised, here are a few pics of the 'restored to service' table saw. Hopefully, I will get many more years out it.

Why can't I get the package ordered on the 8th?

I ordered some stuff on the 2nd. I let them know I still hadn't received the package on the 11th. They sent me an email reply the next day that it had been shipped on the 12th, and confirmed my address. As of yesterday, I still don't have it. It's not a present, just some stuff I wanted. I contacted them again on Sunday, and now they've apparently stopped replying. Guess I'm just going to have to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge. I really dislike dishonest people.
