25 degrees, coldest day yet this season.

Happy Birthday Jaime - How is the new job?

I spent the last two days with a very good friend from Church who wanted to start hunting... I had a shot yesterday at a forked-horn who suddenly appeared behind me, in the middle of my pasture, while I was taking a leak. It was at least an 85 yard shot with open sights, on a slug 12ga, and I could see my house behind the deer so I am POSITIVE I shot low and unfortunately missed... I am simply not accustomed yet to hunting with a slug gun... I am positive he was the same buck I saw while feeding the horses beofre rifle season...

Today is mellow, go to Church and take it easy I believe...

Be well all.
David

Drank my first cup of coffee. 26 degrees with light snow falling this morning. Heading to 38 degrees with some sun in the afternoon. I have not prepared for snow. There is about 1" on the ground. Not sure what to use on the walkways. Shovel or leaf blower. :confused3:
Good Morning All.

28 degrees and expected to go to the middle thirties today, but the wind is howling out there so feels much colder. Having coffee and then off to the deer stand, gin and thermos in hand.

34 degrees now with a high of 41 predicted.
Boy, at least the wind has subsided from Saturday!!!
The packing and move aren't going well. Due to my start date (next Monday), my wife said she'd stay here so I could rent an apt (in VT) for a while (2-4 months). So, I bought her a new TV (we were going to replace our current one once we moved anyway), started an apartment search and started packing the gear I'd need.
Now, she's getting all weepy eyed and doesn't want to do it.
Man, I am losing my freakin' mind!!!
Well, I asked the company for a later start date...hopefully, they'll agree. Otherwise, the job will probably be pulled.
I should have known this would happen...same thing as after visiting WV for that federal job.
And, to make matters worse, right after the VT trip (and job offer), I turned down a local job since we were moving to Vermont.
And, that's not to mention the money I've spent on the VT trips, moving boxes, etc.
Guys, if I survive this BS, it'll be a freakin' miracle!!

Well, no matter what happens, we sure have done a fine job of disposing of our old stuff (being the packrats we are).

28 here, a little snow on the ground. Going to make my rounds, do my chores. I need to check on our shop, get some straw for the critters.

Roy, sorry to hear of the issues. I think time will sort this out. My wife gets scared by change also, but she gets over it quickly.

A 85 yard shot, offhand, open sights, with a 12 gauge would be a very good shot. I hope your house was a long ways off. It is hard to predict how a bullet (slug) will go.

Mine doesn't, unfortunately...
Example: we have two vehicles, a 2006 F-150 Supercrew and a 2004 Subaru Outback wagon. She refuses to drive the Outback (loves the F-150, but won't drive it) to VT. OK, I'll rent a trailer (can't tow an AWD Outback with a two wheel dolly...all 4 wheels have to be off the ground) and tow it (more $$$$ out the window). Doesn't want to ride in the F-150 when I tow the Outback (although I know she will and I'll be listening to complaints for the entire drive).
This whole episode is really driving me to drink (can't drink...too much stuff to do)

BTW, anyone who wrote that there's no such thing as too much ammo never considered moving!!
