Which fuel stabilizer was it, Ted?

I'd like to know so as to avoid using or buying the wrong one...
I was surprised that the fuel line disintegrated being that I used the so-called "good stuff" ----- Sta-Bil 360 marine.

I really think it was just a coincidence..... the tractor is a '97, been using ethanol gas since new. The fuel line makes a "lazy U", with the filter being at the top of one leg, the tank at the top of the other leg. The foot long slug was at the bottom of the "U".

I believe it was just it's time to disintegrate. I used cheap stabilizer (or none at all) in the past, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Good Evening.
It’s been a crazy couple days. Last nights trip trip to Martha’s Vineyard turned out to be bringing some field hockey equipment to a family that was sending a daughter off to camp and forgot it. I ended up getting home around midnight. Because of the recently seal costed lane, we have been parking at my son’s and commuting by golf cart to the cars. On my golf cart ride home, I was reminded where the expression “like a deer in the headlights” came from.
IMG_7033.jpg

This morning I went out to breakfast, and on the way home I got a call asking if we could “save the day”. Apparently the the airplane that was chartered to fly the daughter and hockey equipment to camp had an issue, so I dropped what I was doing, rounded up a copilot and headed to the Vineyard where we picked up mom and daughter and took them to camp, and then returned mom to the Vineyard. It might seem like crazy over the top excess, but they are such nice people, and so appreciative, that you feel good about helping them. They even brought us a gourmet lunch to eat while mom made the drive from the airport to camp and back.

Tomorrow morning wife and I are going out to breakfast for our 47th anniversary. We joked that going out to dinner would keep us up past our bedtime. So someone else will have to save the day tomorrow.

Uneventful day, ran some errands with the wifey this morning. By the time we got home, it was too hot and smokey to get motivated to do any outside work. I then decided that I really needed a nap.... what I thought would only be an hour, became 4. It was worth it!

The smoke is supposed to clear out overnight, and our monsoon moisture returns starting tomorrow. I sure hope so. At least the high temps are going to drop into the mid and low 80's the rest of the week. Into the high 70's for the weekend! That's a long way off for a forecast, so 'we'll see'....

Drew, if that RV is in decent shape and a good price, you should grab it! RVs have become scarce and are demanding crazy high prices!

Good evening all. 1st posting from new computer :) 78F for the start, partly cloudy, breezy. Windy day today, variable cloudiness, and high temp 94F, HI 105F and DP 72F. Worship leader at chapel retired after 25 years, because she is moving away, ceremony was a roast and toast.

65° right now...feels really good!! High in the low 80's again.

We're thinking about getting another dog. Still miss Bella, but we want a happy puppy in our lives. Right now, we're looking at rescue pups...and might get a brother and sister. Both mutts, but adorable

Drinking first cup of coffee. 70° with thunderstorms this morning. Heading to 87° with partly cloudy skies. 1.30" rain since yesterday afternoon. Got shop cleaned up and tools put away. Not sure what I will get done today. Sweat was just pouring off me while in shop yesterday.
Yesterday's sunrise.

good morning all
overnight showers stopping, not much accumulation, hot and sticky today and for next couple of days.

Paul congrats on a long marriage and hope you have a fun breakfast this morning.

I'm off to look at an rv this morning at 8am, told lady I was just looking and would bring her some tomatoes.
It's a traditional older style diesel pusher but perhaps they built them better 15 years ago. I certainly can't afford anything
this size new, but a Cummins/Allison powertrain with 75k miles is pretty low miles. It's all the other stuff in an rv that breaks...
Seller told me they replaced all ten suspension air bags last year. Now that's the kind of work you want done before the sale.

still pondering, a future on the road, or on the tractor. I'm leaning towards the tractor but really want to see what a good deal rv option is.
I've had a travel trailer, a class A gasser and a class B diesel motorhome, and all of them have their advantages.
Let's see, nice new tractor where everything works? Or an older rv where everything will break at some point?
But...I can't see Mt Rushmore in a Kubota... ;)

72 now, 91 later, this the beginning of another heat wave, hopefully the last one this summer but I’m not counting on it.

My son is giving me a “new” laptop. He gave me all the details, none of which I remember. He had to put a new hard drive in it because it came from his employer, 3Phoenix. Every time a more secure system is available they change out everything as required by the Defense Department, and give the old stuff to the employees with proper clearance to change the hard drives,
so I’m getting a 6 month old laptop with docking station, wireless keyboard and 24” monitor for free.
Thank you Uncle Sam!

Early doctors appointment this morning then not much outdoor stuff in this heat. Might turn The a/c
In the motor home and start getting ready for the OBX trip on the first.

Have a good day.

Good morning, a great day here, no rain and a nice bit of cloud for some cool hatless wandering with a knapsack.

I used to be able to catch up on here while eating breakfast. Since my laptop died I have been using a full sized PC in a part of the house which is out of bounds for food.
Toppop, I am feeling free-laptop envy - must ask my wife if there is an Uncle Sam in our family tree.

PJ, that sounded a great adventure on the river. The unexpected swim will only make it more memorable for many years to come.

Drew, that is a very generously sized RV - did I miss the post where you adopted an entire family with 3 kids ? :giggle:

Good morning
It’s 70 with a dew point to match. A steamy high of 90 is forecast with chance of pop up thunderstorms.
Not a nice day for outside work.

We’re going to breakfast after she gets back up from barn, no clue what the rest of the day will bring. Probably some shop time, as it’s air conditioned, a few chores around the house and whatever else pops up.

That’s quite the motor home Drew, looks like it could be a full time residence, but would make gardening pretty tough. You could buy a nice Kubota for half of that though. But the tractor wouldn’t be a great way to travel.

Not sure of the environmental stance of the hockey parents, but they weren’t at their neighbor’s birthday party over the weekend. There were a lot of private jets on the ramp at Martha’s Vineyard on Sunday. I can’t even begin to guess what the dollar cost of that camp experience will be, let alone the carbon footprint. We burned around 750 gallons of kerosene so far.

73 going to 93. Hot and Humid, but not really Hazy, so 2H's.

Sodamo, great story about your move to the Big Island. Happy Anniversary there.

Pop, have a great anniversary breakfast...sounds like something my wife and I would do, along with a day trip somewhere.

Eric, nice tractor/sheep comparo.

Spent a couple hours in the tractor barn lubing the tractor, bush hog and tiller...the breeze was blowing wrong, so I just "cooked" in there...felt good coming out into the sun.

Then the beekeeper family came. I set up Adirondack chairs for them (his wife and daughter) and the show commenced. The beekeeper worked hard to smoke out the queen, and never wore anything protective, except a head net for only part of the time. He estimated 2,000 bees, after having swapped out this small box for a larger box...he would just use his bare hand to gently drag the bees off one frame onto another. The photo of the bees on the tree was one of three holes like that where they escaped. We served them refreshments, gave them a bag of fresh vegetables from the garden, and I gave him a nice tip before they left at 7:30pm.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 5:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. Hot. High 102F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Another hazy afternoon yesterday, clear enough to get something done outside without feeling like I'm smoking cigarettes just to breathe.

I wonder how much of that MV air traffic had to do with a certain ex-president's birthday party, Paul. That's more fuel than I burn in the pickup in a year.

Sorry you got wet, Paul, but at least you were prepared and the temperatures were compatible. And Wifey was likely entertained as well?

Knock on wood, but the mouse in the flue was quiet all night, so hopefully it found its way out. And doesn't come back. Had a similar problem with the range hood duct, and once one mouse had found a way in, several followed until I put a screen over the open end. That wouldn't be very easy with the flue, especially at this time of year working in the attic.

Bent up a bracket to mount the new solar panel for the gate opener and got it up on the pole yesterday. Just as I'd finished the electrical connection, the neighbor that dug the water tank terrace rolled up and gave me a hand hoisting the pole. It was so hot we both nearly burned our hands in the process, but got 'er done. Then we had a good jaw about what kind of grizzly bar setup we wanted to build, and to my surprise his was smaller than I thought he'd want. Less material, and as long as it works, sounds good to me.

Lunch and then a siesta, then turn the well pump on to move some more water up to the high tank. If I can get two or three cycles of that a day, the big tank will eventually get full and no more fussing with water trucks.

By then it had cooled off, so I ran another piece of conduit for a security camera I want to mount on the shipping container, and that was it for the day.

The big tank needs a level sensor installed, so I'll see if the smoke clears enough later to take care of that today. Not sure what else I'll get into, but there's plenty to choose from.

Good morning! 78˚F, heading to the mid 90s with lots of sunshine.

Happy Anniversary Popgadget!
Good pics Wingsprd!
Drew, with the tractor it is an ever growing expense, implements, barn, a few acres . . . The Greyhound bus is a constant expense, just need to decide which one is more pleasurable at this stage in your life. Bet your head is spinning after the bus look about.
RNG, how will you keep the algae out of your tank?

I continued to loose more games than winning and have slipped into 7th place in H&F.

A Dentist/Costco day today.

Mostly the Monday Covid count was up (400), so still looking for the August 11th peak.

My unvaccinated friend finally got the covid, the unvaccinated people who were passed over before variant "D" are finding out that his covid is twice as contagious. Predictions are that "D" is the ending finale of this Pandemic pushing us to herd immunity.

Opinion by dr. Scott Gottieb:
"I don't think Covid is going to be epidemic all through the fall and the winter. I think that this is the final wave, the final act, assuming we don't have a variant emerge that pierces the immunity offered by prior infection or vaccination," the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner said on "Squawk Box." "This is probably going to be the wave of infection that ends up affecting the people who refuse to get vaccinated."

Bet your head is spinning after the bus look about.

Yup. RV was very nice, not perfect but can't be with that age.
Owner bought it, put a ton of money into it, and then last year didn't have time to use it very much
based on covid and his construction business. It was clean and didn't smell, no leaks in engine compt, ISL-400 with side
radiator. But he admitted to a list of small things that didn't work, like one of the stove burners.

time to ponder. Pretty muggy out.

Eric, what is the matter with your most famous bridge?
The Tower of London bridge is stuck up, won't come down, has London in a tizzy.

trying to figure out if I want to go out for a walk and get all sweaty or stay inside in the a/c
and look at tractor specs.

3500-4000# 40hp pto, 6 foot finish blade flail, rototiller, gravel land plane, FEL and of
course a grapple. Have to have a cab and hydrostatic w/cruise. And a nice suspension seat.
hmmmm.

No LS dealer anywhere close. Leaves me with Kioti, JD and Kubota.

maybe I should go for that walk, this fat isn't going to fall off by itself.
