Don, have you considered a chain around stump, as high as you can get, and giving it a pull with your tractor?

I had a dead tree that snapped off about 6’ above the ground. About 2 years later I gave it a push, with big tractor, at the top and it came right over.

Good morning all. A much warmer day today, 30 going up into 60's. Good outside day. Not sure if the Super A will show up, I think so..., but otherwise I have blades to sharpen on two riding mowers to keep me busy. Hopefully one of the last times I have to crawl under a deck because the new Kubota mower has a flip up deck to make that part easier.

And I have a little body work to do, sigh. Not on me, though this body could sure use some work.
Seems to be time to fess up, like the cherry tree....
Well, you see, when you turn the tractor too tightly when pulling a drag harrow one can, if one has substantial talent,
wrap the pull cable on the grippy knobs of the rear tire, which picks the harrow up and proceeds to try to deposit it on the driver's seat.

Saw that in time, started making lots of tink tink tink noise as it dragged across the lift arms. I immediately stopped, no damage to the lift arms, no damage anywhere, yeah, I lucked out. Oh, no I didn't.... chains gave the underside of the left wheel housing a good whack and bent back the edges about half an inch, and yeah took a small amount of orange paint off.

Groan, my first big/little dent in five years. Operator error, as usual. Good thing I just finished paying for it...
So I guess I'll be doing a little vice grip work, a little sanding, masking tape, and painting.
This tractor was named after my late wife and I had to look at the dent and say sorry honey....

I was not visited by chastising ghosts so I guess I'm ok. Particularly ghosts coming out of a super duper double blood moon....:D

I would point and laugh at your incident, but then it would be a little hypocritical. Been there, done that.

It might work after I dig around it. That is why we left it at 10' but it is not deteriorating at the ground level fast enough. Time to give it a little encouragement.

If you jack the back end of the tractor up to about 45°, that seat should be fine.
