Good morning!!!!

Not as dry and nice as yesterday was, but tomorrow will be cool and dry again. Probably go home late Friday night to avoid changeover day traffic. Sitting between the hot tub, which was repaired before we got here after all, and the pool. I'll get in some pool laps then a hot tub arthritis treatment while the kids and grand kids are up on the 4WD beach. Watching the F18's out of Oceana do their maneuvers this morning. Have a ood day all!

Good morning. 0945, sunny, 83* with 83% humidity. Forecast high of 93* with a 30% chance of thunderstorms.

Driving into Blountstown on Tuesday, I went through one of the worst storms I have seen in a while. Margie and I went out to eat, then I did work a couple of hours watering the lobby plants. Margie called me at work telling me we had no internet. When I got in I found out the lightning had got the modem. I called the phone company, only to find that lots of people had lost their modem, and we were far down the line for repair. We just got back online a few minutes ago. A day and two nights without TBN {oh my}. Thank the Good Lord it didn't get my router too. {like it usually does}

I was trying for food pics, but oh well :(

We are about an hour from Volcano
The island is divided into 9 risk zones, #1 being the riskiest. We are in Zone 8. Na, not worried about the doors, either volcano or tsumani as we are about 1100 ft elevation.

David, marvelous pics, thanks.
I see you have some shrimp cocktail ready to be devoured.
I don't care how much shrimp you put out, it gets eaten.
There is a brand of horseradish based cocktail sauce called Kelchners that is made about
twenty miles from my home. It really gives you a shot up the nose when you eat it, the vapors
are marvelous. They grow their own horseradish there and boy is it fresh.
We used to take a bottle of the mix, and mix it again with straight horseradish.
whooey, good stuff. I bet there's a Hawaiian equivalent.
I'm glad you had fun.

Sodamo--I'd have been in a food coma and remembered nothing.
What a great feast.

No pineapple? I thought that was required?

/ Good morning!!!! #13,971
Six: Actually, wife suggested to sister to include a small fresh pineapple in the meatball concoction, but she kinda rolled her eyes and changed the subject.

Drew: forgot about your horseradish comment. I always add some extra to cocktail sauce if I can. As for locally, wasabi has it beat. :)

High 70's today. Feels like fall.
Have outdoor plans for the weekend, it is called - wait for it---- wait----

MOWING.

This year has been odd, with the grass. I cannot recall how many times I actually cut something. Yeah, my lawns and pastures look bad. I got over it. :)
Might not need those new upgrades after all, it is called scale back expectations and find other things to do.
Have a great day everyone!

Hot coffee this morning. 43° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with lots of sun that should make a great day to be outside. Today is a runaround day.

A study came out this week on heart disease management, for those who have had a MI. Looks like I'm still on the right track.

"Cutting out Meat Boosts Heart Attack Victims' Chances for Survival

People who improved their eating habits the most after a heart attack had a better chance of surviving, according to a study online this week in JAMA Internal Medicine. Researchers assessed the diets of 4,098 women and men from both the Nurses Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study using the Alternative Healthy Eating Index 2010 - tool developed to determine chronic disease risk based on diet before and after a heart attack. The results showed that after a nine years of follow-up, a diet lowest in red and processed meat products and sugar and highest in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables lowered the risk of death from heart disease by 40 percent, compared with no dietary changes.

Li S, Chiuve SE, Flint A, et al. Better diet quality and decreased mortality among myocardial infarction survivors. JAMA Intern Med. Published online September 2, 2013."

Boy, really slept in this morning!!

Chilly last night. I actually closed the bedroom window for the first time (other then when it rained) since June.
My wife brought her tomato plant and gardenias (potted) in in case there was a frost.
Right now it's 41 degrees and a high of 64 predicted.

sunny morning with 50 degrees with humidity going up today.we will top out at 83 with a chance of rain tonight.

Boy, really slept in this morning!!

me too. Must be something in that marvelous cool night air.
41 degrees Roy? Yikes. Looks like you, and our other Northern folk, are running out of summer.
We're likely a couple of weeks behind you. Ok by me. More peppers to pick.
have a very nice Friday.

Drew: forgot about your horseradish comment. I always add some extra to cocktail sauce if I can. As for locally, wasabi has it beat.
agreed, and the wasabi we get here is pretty tame. Nonetheless...I love avocados, though i eat them sparingly. And what looks like a little lump
of avocado? Yup. My first intro to wasabi was downing the entire little green lump, having no idea what it was. Oh my.
