My son just sent this pic of the elantra sun visor. It appears to have exploded inside. Car was parked when it happened.

Car is in arkansas.he was getting a hair cut, came out and the visor was hanging down. I think it has a lighted mirror.

Buckeye, check internet for similar incidents, without opening it up hard to tell but looks like short in some wire up there that caused excessive heat.

Any smells?

Until electrical is ruled out I would park it outside tonight.

Does it have a sunroof was it open, were the angles of the sun at that particular parking spot greater, like a reflection of glass from a nearby building window?

No sunroof. I think it was a short. I told him to remove the whole visor. It wont stay up.
