Texans are such generous people.

what the rain and hot weather has provided besides mold:
foot a day briars
gallon a minute mosquitoes ;)
inch a day lawn
inch a day okra

sitting around just waiting for the hvac cap to blow....

Yikes, I always have an extra capacitor for the AC but since the move to this house I have no spare. Thanks for reminding me. It's not as critical here because service people come out after Friday 5PM and I wouldn't have to wait till Monday, but having one on hand is like having a back-up generator.

If anyone uses an Apple TV box (generation 2 or 3) with Hulu you might have noticed your CC has vanished. It is Hulu's fault and is called Issue Ki 15733. To resolve the issue you must purchase an Apple TV box generation 4, or wait till they resolve the issue. It has been off for 8 days.

Good evening all. 80F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Sky remained clear, Wind was frisky, and high temp was 97F. Finished mowing this morning, had to wait till 10 AM before grass was dry enough after irrigation. dog is complaining about what is in his food bowel, but at 18.4# (s/b 15#) it is not going to change, owner's orders.
Rip, 6 bottle day, I rarely do more than 2 on a 4 hour ride.
Drew, I wish I could send some wind as well :D
Thomas, need to give the cub some selfie training ;), glad you got your game cam back.
PJ I remember when they closed lanes on the I-70 bridge across the Missouri River, I feel your pain.
Billie good luck getting your pipe fixed.
Prayers for all.

66 and a bit sticky this morning...high in the upper 80'ss today. Looks like the heat wave will be breaking tonight...

70 this AM. Already too humid to do anything. Need some light anyway although the moon is nice and bright. Lol. Heading up to upper 90s later. Heat index should be in the 100's later.

Buppies you should try a banana to start the day for cramps.

Farmer....I forgot how many waters I drank. I know my kidneys and sweat glands are in good working order. Lol.

Be safe out there today.....have a GREAT day all.

I am lucky, no complaints here about high temperatures. It's starting at 15C/59F and even with sun expected all afternoon, shouldn't rise above 17C/63F.

Our son has been with us for a few days. That means he's been missing out on his regular gym visits, so I felt it my duty as a concerned parent to keep giving him alternative workouts. Splitting rings of ash and elm with hammer and wedges until they were small enough to carry out by hand to where I can get at them with the tractor was the first. He was happy enough with that until the flies got to him. Yesterday he was helping me with a rotten gate post that was threatening to let sheep onto the hay meadow. I left him digging it out while I went back to lock up the rifles we had been sighting in. He was having so much fun, it only seemed right that I take my time and then have a cup of tea before putting returning with another post on the pallet forks. When I got to him he was struggling to find a gap to prize out the "stones" that encircled the post ( Oops, I vaguely remember one gate where I resorted to quick set cement when the ground was too wet to tamp back :ashamed:). Feeling a little guilty, I started to help too. It would seem no gym exercise quite prepares the body for digging a 2 hour hole

Kyle, sorry to hear of anyone poking unkind fun at your family.

75 going to 95. Chances for rain have dropped for tomorrow. :(

Kyle, your stories have convinced me you're a great dad, and I'm sorry your family was verbally attacked.

Eric, you sound like a great dad, too. But the truth is, after a day of chores I can be a lot more exhausted then after a gym workout. I'm sure he likes the opportunity to help you, too.

Drew, if you decide to sell a lot off the backside of your land, remember how many guys here have said they wish they could be your neighbor. Sounds like auction time -"bid often and bid high."

On hot days I alternate bottles of Vitamin Water Zero (many electrolytes and vitamins) with plain water. No calories, and great flavors, IMO.

PJ, they had to rebuild a washed out culvert on our road just a half mile away...so a neighbor who went that way to work had an extra 15 miles to drive everyday. I had already retired, so it just meant an occasional trip to that part of town took us on other roads where we enjoyed the scenery...but it also meant our road was much quieter road since it effectively became a dead end.

Buppies, is it too hot to pave?

My water line leak turned out to be a cracked plastic coupler where the former owner or his builder had connected two sections of pipes. It should have been an easy uninterrupted direct run from the well to the bladder tank, maybe a hundred fifty feet, but I guess they went cheap and used leftover pieces. Fortunately, my hole digging was directly over the target and only a minimal amount of work was required, and the hole is only about 2 feet in diameter, and 2+ foot deep. I'll refill it once the clay/soil dries. I hope that is the only fitting. Thomas, you are right, better now than in the winter. Seems like you or jay had a pipe break in winter.

Good morning all. A very hot day today, sunny all day into mid 90's and I'm spending the entire day outside with two helpers.
This morning we cut tree limbs and bushes along the edges of the property; has to be done at least once a year, creates huge pile for burn pile.
Power pole saw, power clippers and elevated man lift using FEL gets the job done.
In past I chipped all this brush, not sure I want to chip brush in 95 degree weather, so it is likely to all go on the burn pile, which now of course is burned down a little. Ok, I promise not to use gasoline the next time....

Kyle, geez, that's just plain awful. No matter what, you never pick on kids, a stupid insensitive low blow. I had never heard of the term used but then I seem to be pretty oblivious about nasty terminology, who in the world is Cheetoh? I am so glad I no longer go in FP. It's like a neighborhood bar where you go in for companionship and instead everyone is seriously drunk and civility is lost.

Ok, RS has clearly worn out his welcome here. I guess that term fully applies and it's sad for a bright guy with a lot of talent, and clearly some underlying unhappiness to focus on the only area of this site that is contentious. No other posts in regular tractor areas. That was never the intent of this forum I think...

I'm on the liberal side of the fence, which many of you aren't, and RS seemed to be defending the faith.
But you can make your point fairly and even nicely, personal attacks don't belong here. And making crass jokes about someone's kids?
That's unforgivable.
Ok, maybe I'll worry about Larro now....and Jay.

Kyle, I'll send some extra love your way for your kids. Sure isn't going to be the only stupid thing they hear growing up.

71 high of 92 today storms maybe tomorrow cooler weather for the weekend and next week

Never really too hot to pave just have to wait longer for mix to cool some before rolling

Riptides great idea except they contain lots of potassium which causes my levels to go too high not really sure what that does but doctor fusses at me about it
