Found a bunch of videos on YouTube called Texas Country Reporter. Focuses on old ways and old time places to eat, mostly in Tx. Ed

Ed we watch his episodes a lot, very entertaining. Still looking for him to go to one of my favorite vegan Mexican restaurants in San Antonio.

Good evening all. 76F for the start, mostly cloudy till 9, partial clearing till about 2, about an inch of rain starting at 3, moderate wind except near thunderstorms, and high of 89F. Men's meeting to start the day, bike ride, then trip to bike shop to drop bike for new chainrings to cure jumpy chain. misaligned rear derailleur brackey likely cause and had already been dealt with.
Don good news on Whipper, bad news on the car accident.
Rip hope all the damage was done to the deer and the S-10, Wife hit a deer coming home 1 night in St Charles co, 3K damage and took forever to get A/C vacuum hoses right.
Prayers for all

Don, sounds like a pretty bad T-bone or offset head on collision. I guess 5 minutes is not bad considering the traffic.

I would have been glad for someone like you to be first on the scene, with your experience.

Helping an engineer design an artificial hand at work. He's doing all the legwork, I help him design his parts for work ability, manufacturability, and then make them.

Drew, was it your post that got things cleaned up in FP? I was ecstatic to read that we all have to clean up our acts. Now they are deciding on whether or not they can poke fun at (irritate) others about their faith....I hope they/we can't. Could you post about that too? Since you were so effective the first time. :)

There are a handful of Texas "road shows". They usually eat at the greasiest spoon in town that makes the biggest hamburgers. One is on PBS and is comical with a guy named Chet. IIRC it is Austin Day Tripper. The old Texas Parks and Wildlife shows, which used to be narrated by Walter Cronkite, they are still on PBS too.

90 for high today.

Been moving hay. Barrowed a 30’ gooseneck trailer. Hauling 17 bales at a time. This new truck doesn’t mind it one bit. Never would move more than 14 with old truck, and it would complain then. Exhaust brake is really nice also. Very little use of truck brakes until under 20mph. You can feel the down shifts of the transmission.

Moved dads tractor back home tonight. Hadn’t done that in almost 2 years as old truck was getting to where it couldn’t without overheating.

Spent time at sleep doctor yesterday. He says I don’t sleep enough. Don’t guess he’ll ever figure out what self-employed means.

Dermatologist today. Took 2 places off my face. Results in 3 weeks. Removed several skin tags. Wasn’t concerned about them. Fussed at me for showing up sunburnt. ****, doc I work outside for a living.

Deer are ruminates. If the seed coat is broken on most grains they can digest it. The key is not to feed so much corn that you create an imbalance in their stomach. Rumens can digest starch or fiber but not both. Different enzymes. Cows will do the same thing. When feeding fat cattle you have to switch the rumen over to starch. Usually corn and crack, roll or grind it.

Good news of fp rules. Kyle you were cooler about it than I would have been. Sometimes things just need to leave certain circles to get results.

And don’t forget Shane McAuliffe’s The Texas Bucket List Show.

Did you need airbags for the rear suspension? Or does it just sag a little? My friend moves the same amount per load, and he says he HAS to have 4WD just to get it to move the first foot in the pasture with that much weight on it.

Hope the best for your face. Sunblock and a big hat. get you a sombrero. :)

We did asphalt almost 10 years ago, it needs sealing again. It was much cheaper than concrete and is easy on taxes (considered temp) than concrete (considered permanent).

Here there is some initial savings on pavement, but not that significant and sometimes I think it is less proper prep, kinda false savings in a sense. Get way too much rain to neglect prep. That said, taking shortcuts on concrete isn’t a good thing either. Had one neighbor find out the hard way. Taxes not affected to my knowledge, but I would agree on temp vs perm.

No airbags. Factory suspension. Coil springs and it sat it level. These are 4x5 bales. Moved everything in 2wd. even in the fields. If it wasn’t good and dry and the trailer sank I’d need 4wd. Trailer loads out fairly even. Only one more stack in front of axles than behind.

Long day in town, had to get a nap in after return.
No luck finding replacement blade bolts locally in stock. Each place eager to suggest another, but no luck just lots of running around. Have them on order. I don’t think anyone is a true Rhino dealer and the Alamo stuff is more high end industrial.
Able to get 1 freed, allowing 2nd to soak more overnight. Man, those lock nuts are a bear.
