Good morning!!!!

58°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 85° today. Looks like warm weather is returning this week, with Wednesday forecast to be in the low 90s.

Had a semi-productive weekend. Got one step finished, and all the railings built and installed on the deck. Wife found some LED lights she liked at Menard's and mounted them on the posts yesterday. The only thing left now is to build the stair around the one tall corner. Maybe it'll all be done by next weekend. We did spend some time yesterday evening sitting out there. She popped open one of those Seagram's fu-fu drinks, so I popped a Bud Select that's been in the fridge for I know not how long. Still tasted like beer. I actually finished the whole beer . So, now I can't say "I can't remember the last time I actually finished a beer." At least, not just yet.

Went to Lowe's in Belleville yesterday morning to get a few things. Noticed when I stopped for lunch that the battery idiot light was on, but the gauge showed the charging system registering right in the middle as it always does. I got most of the way home before I noticed the gauge was now at the bottom of the low side. Great. Somehow I managed to make it the remaining 6 miles home. I put a charger on it for several hours, and the battery took a good charge ... which tells me the charging system has an issue, probably the alternator. Need to look at that some night this week after work, I guess. May just take it to a shop in town instead.

Happy Anniversaries, David and Gary. 30+ years does seem like quite a feat these days.

Quakers aren't waiting for Heaven. Heaven is all around us.

Sounds a lot like Buddhism, Drew.

Thanks for sharing that experience with us. I think most people have little idea of the true goings on within other belief systems, and what we think we know is frequently wrong or misinterpreted. Sounds like a wonderful bunch of people.

68°F and no rain.
Need to do a PO run this morning.
Ordered some Fluid Film off eBay, tried Amazon first but wouldn’t ship to us.

Hard to believe Oct already.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

home safe and sound, though just vibrating from so much focusing for so long. But i'm like PJ I can hardly get through one beer, so I'll stick with the remains of a diet pepsi.

thanks for good wishes guys. No crazies, except....on the DC Beltway some yahoo in a big bike with no mufflers on it, not a Harley..., came down in between the lines of stopped cars, almost blew my ears up going by, what a moron. They must be just serious thrill seekers but sure irresponsible.
Truly give the other 99 percent a bad rep.

had fun experimenting with "lane assist". I can take my hands off the wheel for about ten to fifteen seconds, then it yells at me, but also can hold the wheel with just one finger, it seems to accept that, and on mostly straight roads it did a fine job of staying in the center of the lane.
Less wear and tear on my hands and wrists, all good.

Heading out in a minute to cut okra, and vacuum the car inside, did a horrible job of getting crumbs in the new seat, all down in the cracks,
and I'd better get it out of there before the bugs get to it.

Nice to be home. I got my flu shot before I left and finally got the call on the Shingrix shot and getting the first one on Wednesday.
Nice to get some of those to do's crossed off the list.

Unpacking the bags realized I had forgotten to give my friend the baby yellow watermelon I took him, so I drove the silly melon up to PA and back for nothing. Well traveled...

85 degrees and nice out.

PJ, thank you. one of the reasons I brought up religion in the "new" invitee thread was to see if it would be permitted and the answer was yes.
And one of the things I wanted to learn more about was Buddhism. And Judaism. And for sure Islam.
But not here. Here I'm hoping Claye gets some snow so he can make a snowman, maybe right next to his tractor.
Maybe Muhammad could give a TBN Prize for best snowman of the winter with a tractor theme.

Buckeye, I always tell my MIL it tastes delicious no matter what, I'm no fool...:D but it does have
a slightly off taste in the crust. Hers often does. Maybe she leaves the butter out too long, have no idea. Made from scratch...
With all I've eaten this weekend, my dinner is going to be a bowl of cereal, and then sour cherry pie a la mode. life is good :cloud9:

Just got back from dr appt a few minutes ago.

Flu shot (have not gotten one in many years, last time I got the flu shot iast time I had flu.), doctor was on TV last week saying we should all get flu shot, thought I would give in the advertising. I've got a nodule of some sort on my foot where I dropped trailer hitch in it a few weeks ago, doc checked and said , nothing to worry about at this time, but if it gets bigger or painful, get it check.. I've been falling more this last year, especially on uneven ground. Doc recommended I actually hold my walking stick in my hand (use it instead of having it leaning in corner)...

Blood work took a couple of stabs, first one vein rolled and after digging aoround a few times, she started over in other arm, no problem there. They didn't have any of the new shingles vaccine. Doc said it was 90% effective, but they were out.

took some pics of the farm where I grew up this past visit.
All the fields are in permanent preservation and most of the woods.
They have left some, looks like about half, of the original apple orchard and grape arbor.
Oh the bees I swatted at trying to mow under that blankety blank grape arbor.
And I learned to prune fruit trees right here.

The stone incinerator looked so cool they decided to keep that too.
That is genuine Bucks County fieldstone. Often looking extra cool with plow marks on it.
Big opening door on the far side, small door on this side for ashes.
Try rolling a full 55 gallon metal can full of ash up a three foot elevation onto a wooden farm wagon on a 2 by 12 by 10 foot long wooden plank.
Straight out of the Egyptians it was so backwards, but then if getting it done just meant working harder, then my father
was happy to volunteer the boys to do it. And as the low man on the totem pole, I got to shovel out this incinerator.

And later to manhandle those full barrels of nonburnables up onto the wagon all by myself, take the wagon half a mile down to the lower fields down the long path in the woods to the dump. Where you did your best to get the wagon as close as possible so the barrel could just get rolled off the side of the wagon. Just plain grunt work. On a JD B I had to bushhog those paths in the woods too, including the other path on the other side of the farm that went back to the stream which was headed towards the River. And we were on the last hill down, on the crest of the small bluffs.
Used to take my Honda ATV all over there, just 70 acres of mostly virgin woods, unmolested, large areas where the light could come down, dogwoods flowering in the woods. It was a pretty place to grow up. Even if I did have to work like an indentured servant.

I think I hear a piece of pie calling me.

I also got my flu shot today, high dose version again this year. Went with Ellen to the dentist, she has an infection in a crowned tooth/gum, gave her amoxicillin and another appointment. Washed clothes today, we take turns, she does Friday and I do Monday. Watered all the new plants, bought paint for some shepherds hooks, going to hang a birdhouse that looks like a camper (Ellen’s), and some feeders. Getting ready to wash the house, decks and buildings.

Good evening all. 72F this morning, overcast, calm wind. Sky started to break up about 10AM, wind stayed light, and high temp was 87F. Started the day at choir practice, then sand burr/mow till lunch. 2 hour nap :). Spent an hour on phone with ATT:mur:, but did get unlock issue resolved. Changing to Verizon in the morning, hope it goes better.
Drew, glad you are home with no major issues :)
Prayers for all.
