this is why I spent the extra money to get an rv gps, one where I could enter the height of the motorhome.
I don't do a lot of backroads, at least not intentionally.

after looking at dollar per egg cost to buy hard boiled eggs, now boiling a dozen and waiting for timer. 4.29 a dozen here

I'm sorry, I meant back in the early 60's. It seems they were $9.8 million in 1962.
Now 2. something billion, just for 608 engines to retrofit 76 planes. And the money is going to Rolls Royce. They say there are "problems" with integrating the new turbo fan engines. I hope the contract requires they be designed and made stateside.

The wifey made me some decaf pecan coffee, with some chocolate. yummy.

We had quite the storms last night, with wind gusts over 50mph. Even the rugs on my back porch where blown over. Only .39" rain. Now the storms are headed east north east. Hang on to your hats!
Rolls-Royce has an engine manufacturing plant near Richmond, so I'm with you on hoping they're built here. I remember as a kid having a little plastic set of toy planes...the B-52 was always my favorite.

Glad you got some tasty coffee.

Good morning! Low was 28°, heading towards 49°. Then by Sunday, should hit 59°. Light winds all weekend, 15-20 mph. No precip in the forecast, so that means I should see some ..... right?

More piddling today, might make a quick grocery run for a couple of things.

No headway on getting a sooner "second opinion" on the knee.... spent the afternoon yesterday trying to do so..... that was after the call I got moving the appointment from June 8th to June 29th..... put a call into the original surgeon too, to see if they could do anything..... nope. They are booking until the end of July. Ridiculous!.....

Still waiting for the disability insurance to 'review' the case again..... Hopefully they entered the new attorney's information.....

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning, 43 today with lots of rain in forecast.

Staying home today to do paperwork, bill paying etc

The iPhone is still acting up on not receiving calls. Done everything including changed the SIM card and still the same. Will see if insurance on the phone will help pay for new one.

Good Morning!!!! 40F @ 7:15AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 59F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday it looked like we'd have a few days of sunshine starting next week, now it's rain starting tomorrow for the rest of the 10-day.

At least you have some legal recourse to the barking, Mike. Around here it's an ag area, and the barking is considered acceptable farm noise. I can complain to the owners, but it does no good. It's about 1000 feet away here, too, but it's right next to their house. I don't know how they get any sleep. Maybe they're just doped up every night?

Can you get another of those oil caps, KJC? If so, you might consider destroying the cap to remove it so as not to mess up the filler neck on the oil reservoir.

Stopped by the supply store to look at the replacement roof tile while I was in town yesterday. The tile was a perfect match shape wise, but how anybody could mistake the color for brown is beyond me. Especially since I sent the salesman a photo of what I had.

I did manage to find a Ford dealer yesterday that would submit a custom order, but he was thinking it would be four to six months before it could be filled. And two more dealers said that the ordering window had closed for the year. So I started looking through inventories already on lots, and while I can't find the exact truck I want, I might be able to get close. I also found an article this morning that said Ford's CEO was going to stop sending vehicles to dealers that add anything to the MSRP. Maybe that's why so many dealers don't have inventory. My local dealer didn't have a Transit on the lot that was for sale, but he had a $100,000 Mustang in the showroom, so that correlates pretty well.

61°F and 1.01 inches rain. Still raining
7.76 inches so far in Mar. 46.75” for 2023.

Wx cancelled out my HD plans yesterday.

Headed into town for Safeway and pick up Sophie’s prescription this morning. Looks to be another low productivity day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Popgadget, this is a bigger speaker cab than we've seen you make before, IIRC?
Looks like it will pump out some decibels.

I was going to ask you audiophiles your thoughts on the modern amplifiers that are relatively lightweight, but claim high wattage output? I could easily understand using them, having to lug them around for gigs. My old McIntosh weighs 94 lbs., rated at 205watts per channel conservatively. Many moons ago, at a check up clinic, it peaked over 437watts. I need to rebuild it with new caps and such. A bit apprehensive, as I'm no electronics guru. There are kits available, it's just that it's a back burner issue.

Got the oil changed today at wallyworld. It cost $30 over the price of the oil and filter you pick out.

I bought a fish tank inside glass cleaner, that works using 2 halves, each with a magnet. It worked good, and I changed out the filters. Still need to add some water to bring up the level.

I'm supposed to be off today, but I asked to give a short lecture, and there is also an Active Shooter training presentation. I'm taking my beautiful wifey with me, since we'll just be there for the afternoon.

We got the Dell laptop in. It looks good. My son hasn't seen it yet, but we will give it to him early so that we don't waste half of the warranty period awaiting his bday. He will probably wish it was a bigger model at first, but the 12.5" is really light and will be very portable in his back pack. I'm loading it up right now with chrome etc. I was on the fence about letting it upgrade to Win 11. Went ahead and took a chance and clicked the upgrade button . 4 gig download. There are about 15 other window pending downloads awaiting the win11 install.

The storms have just cleared us in. The temperature is headed down and the wind is about 800 miles per hour but the temperature is still is around 60F. Going to care 6 of the horses before work time vs in the dark.

I am really looking forward to daylight saving time.

I am Ag, they are not. Usually it is the "they" complaining about the Ag when they move in.

I feel kind of silly trying to address it, since it literally went on ALL night long. I'd hate to think they are doped up, but WTH.

....

Maybe the person was color blind or their photo viewer has some serious color issues?

Wild.

Yes, TGIF.

Well morning all;
I spent my morning puttering around outside these weather guessers have quite the variance in their guesses.
I've seen 2-6", 4-8" and 8-12" with the 8-12 being bandied about quite often.
So I stuck my oil tank to see how that was doing as I haven't been using the coal this winter and my wife has been working
from home so the house is being keep warmer then it used to be. Got 19" left in a 48" 1000 gallon tank. So about 360 gallons left
out of the about 900 that it got filed to so used about 2/3's of that tank so far. I'll likely move the portable 300 over and transfer it if the
yard ever get froze good.
Then prepped the Branson for the worst forecast so we should get the least amount now.

Rip, Are the neighbors there? They didn't get hauled off to jail or murdered or something?

Chris
The lights went off this AM, the dogs are now inside. Nice and quiet. Figures.

I have two courses of action:

1- If I hear the dogs at 12AM-5AM I will go knock on their door
2- I shall pay them a visit on Saturday

I met the guy once, he seemed a little standoffish....we chatted for a few minutes, but it seemed like I was driving the whole conversation. Hey, whatever. I'll probably go have that talk and be labeled the "mad farmer" next door. :)

38F with rain and a Wind Advisory @ 14:00, high might make it up to 49F today ... but it won't happen until close to midnight.

Got hopper and tube feeders refilled yesterday, also 'coon - who failed swimming lessons - disposed of.

Still need to rebait and reset the live trap though.

Made some decent progress on various items out in the garage yesterday.

Blast gate manifold nearly complete, got pieces put on the bottom plate that will form the recess the middle plate will set in, still need to trim the one end flush and add the foam weatherstripping on the bottom plate so it will seal:

IMG_2268 copy.jpg

Also need to glue in the clear plastic tubes on the top and bottom:

IMG_2269 copy.jpg

IMG_2270 copy.jpg

Parts for the overhead swiveling arm for the vacuum hose (and maybe an extension cord !) cut out, drilled, and cleaned up:

IMG_2271 copy.jpg

IMG_2272 copy.jpg

And assembly mounted and tested:

IMG_2273 copy.jpg

IMG_2274 copy.jpg

Need to get the blast gate manifold mounted on the wall and finalize the hose position before I lock it down on the swing arm.

Probably also going to need to add some side bracing on the lumber rack as it wants to twist when the swing arm is rotated.

Agenda for the remainder of today:

Quick trip out to the van to place a bucket under wherever the drip is coming from so plywood don't get wet.

Then back probably back to the main bathroom project to quiet the threats of "I'm going to call the plumber ..."

Maybe fire up one of the old computers later and start laying out the cabinetry for the woodworking bench and router tables.

Probably sneak out to the garage later on as temps warm up and do some clean up out there.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday ... (y)

RS, now you started an insatiable desire for a philly cheesesteak......

:giggle:

I normally make them at home, but I found a 2 for 1 coupon for a place in town.... Guess what we're having for dinner?

I'll hazard a guess it wasn't tacos ... ?

There was place down in N. Canton a few years ago that had really outstanding phillys ... was a chain of some sort, don't recall the name offhand but they were great.

They weren't there all that long before they closed up ... apparently just weren't getting the traffic.

Made me sad as I love a good philly.

We had Manwiches last night which The Woman loves.

But they don't hold a candle to a good philly.
