21 degrees and flurries. The high today is only going to be 22 and single digits tonight.

Stove is warming the house, wife's cooking a Thanksgiving brunch for her daughter and boyfriend (who should be here in a couple of hours). I reckon we're ready...

Happy Thanksgiving, All!!

Good morning everyone. And a very happy Thanksgiving to all. Jim, you spoke so eloquently that none of us have much to add.

Am at my brother's farm in VA, and woke up to much excitement. This is dog land at the moment, my brother's three beautiful golden labs, and two little "somethings" sorry... all golden color, and to see them all run around and chase squirrels is something straight out of a Disney movie. I'll try to take a pic later. But not now. One of the little dogs has run away, and Mark and Barbara are out searching for him. It's the DIL's dog they are babysitting, so they feel even worse. The eldest dog is sitting outside, constantly woofing as if telling the stupid little dog, come back here!
And it's really cold outside... I guess I've got to get dressed and go outside and help.

Our family has had some really good news for Thanksgiving. No less than three of the next generation got jobs in the last two weeks, including my brother's eldest son who has been out of work for almost three years. He's pretty tired of working at Home Depot, and now gets to put his suit back on for a good paying job in HR. Boy were his parents happy. For all kinds of reasons....

more later, it's go find the dog time.

Happy Thanksgiving! Beautiful sunrise with orange high clouds, a crisp, no wind, 32˚.

A warm 73˚ inside as the WBS has been going constantly now for 6 days. Our outdoor temp has not gone above 45˚. Today is the start of a warming trend and we will be heading into the 50s.

The fresh ginger-apricot-cranberry sauce is chilling along with the no bake carrot cake and the rest of the meal will be just as delicious, not the traditional, but an easy change with food like this. My parents are in for a treat at noon.:licking:

Happy Thanksgiving! Would you share the recipe for both? They sound delish.

Sure, I'll find them later. Even though the carrot cake has no milk, flour, oil, eggs or sugar it still has quite of bit of fat from the nuts which I have to limit severely. The icing on the cake is pureed cashews.

Sounds fantastic. Can't wait to see and try that recipe!

Happy T-day, all.

33 degrees and light frost here. Going into the mid 50s today. Back to the 70s by the weekend.

Hi guys, coming to you this morning bedside at PRMC Hospital. Been a guest since Tuesday. Hope to go home today. My low sodium combined with crashing BP sent me from docs office to ER Tuesday. Finally after several bags of sodium chloride I hit the minimum number to go home. Waiting for the ok from the doctor.

Randy:

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope you are on the mend soon.
Get well, stay well, and have a happy holiday.

Thoughts and prayers with you for a speedy recovery.

Randy, the cranberries are calling you, get out of that place...
Thinking about you and hope you are doing better.

The little dog was found, peace in the kingdom again. Going to a restaurant for Tday meal today, the first time I've ever done that, same for my brother, but I'm sure it will be good. And no plates to wash...:D

I will miss the snitching. Nothing better than volunteering to haul the turkey back to kitchen, since you have first shot at the little ends and nuggets that are always so good.

Good Morning. 0925, clear, 36* with 71% humidity. Forecast high of 54*. At 0600 when I was trying to decide if I wanted to sit in the shooting house, it was 28* with a pretty white frost. I decided to wait until this afternoon. The bucks have only shown up on the game camera just before dark anyway. Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving.

The good Lord sent me home, wife already put off dinner until Saturday, seems there was gonna be a revolt if Pop Pop wasn't home for dinner I told them to go ahead but nobody was hearing it. So I ate ham and deviled eggs and Saturday I'll eat more and some turkey too. TXDon, cover your eyes, doc tells me pour on the salt eat pork and don't drink too much water. Never thought I'd hear that from a doctor. it's amazing all the havoc low sodium can wreak.
Let me say to you all, God bless, happy Thanksgiving and help someone that needs it. I don't really have to say that to you folks though, you already do.
Drew, I hope the weather in Delaplane is to your liking, our son, daughter in law and grandson are having Thanksgiving in Front Royal. They'd be proud to feed you and that'll be less leftovers to attract the neighborhood bears.

Glad you are home Randy. Deviled eggs :licking: Ham :licking:

Maybe beer is good way to fix the thirst you will have? It doesn't even take the time to change color. :)
