Good morning!!!!

20°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 37° today. Back down into the mid-20s tonight.

Wife didn't get the hoses in yesterday in anticipation of the hard freeze, so I went out to do it after dinner. Shortly after I came back in, she mentioned that it sounded like it was raining pretty hard. I listened and heard the wind had picked up since I had been out there. Looked out the sunroom and everything was already white. Guess I came in just in the nick of time, as it was blowing some pretty big flaked sideways. Guess they weren't kidding when they used the word "squalls." Picture through the screen isn't all that great. We ended up with about 1/2".



As the sun is moving along this morning, that snow is quickly going away. The ground is still pretty warm here as well.

Still hoping for the best for you, RNG. Saw a story yesterday about the five people who got trapped in their car near Paradise. Terrible tragedy. I'm sure there will be more as this thing continues to burn.

At 52 now, you guys aren't exactly helping me look forward to navigating the Medicare labyrinth. I still have another decade for them to make it even worse ... which I have little doubt they will.

Probably going to spend some time in the studio today. Feeding the chickens and ducks this morning when it was 25° was about enough outside stuff for me.

Need to get out and finish cleaning out my side of the garage. Wife parked her car in there last night ... because she can now. :thumbsup:

23 this morning and headed to 36 today. Clear cold and sunny. Just what opening morning of modern gun season should be. First in years. Although I quit hunting years ago because of hunting pressure from state land that boarders me.

So I値l get to my daily chores. Walk birds and check on cows. The last cow calved last week so calving season is done. Bull has been turned in with the heifers. Then at thanksgiving we値l add the cows.

Toppop I don稚 want a winter repeat of 2012. It was nice and warm and dry. We cleared land all winter. But it turned into a record setting drought in 2012. I pulled 10 vertical feet out of my 1 acre pond. It痴 only 14 feet deep. Spillway stopped running in March. Didn稚 start back till December. No pasture, no hay. Not one I wish to repeat.

I went on Google Maps and interestingly they had put a big flame marked Camp Fire at the origin.
Looking at the town of Paradise "before" hard to imagine losing all that.
And now Chico is in the path? Lot of folks live there...
would be nice if wind reversed direction at least.

Found my great grandmothers photo album, photos from the 1800s. Theres a photo of her as a young girl, she was born in 1875, so these pictures go further back. My great aunt had it, and must have come to my mom when she died.Dad didn't know it was there. Unfortunately most have no names.
