Good morning!!!!

Tried a flashlight in strobe mode on sparrows that hang out on a weeping mulberry tree near back door. No luck. They just looked at it and kept on doing their own thing.

I worked in automotive plants for years. Many of them machined brake drums. I can still hear the ringing sound as they were machined.
Worst I did was race enduro go carts with 2 stroke engine that screamed at 10k + rpms. Muffler end tip was about 6" behind headrest.
I have tinnitus bad. One of the MRI's I had recently was looking for why. No help.
I still have 85% hearing at 76 years old. As long as sounds are not in range of the ringing. But it's failing fast. I can see me needing hearing aids in the future.

I raced karts for years, and did body work and shot many different weapons, as well as MC riding. I’m surprised I can hear myself fart!

What’s that smell?

Welcome Dave.
Guessing I grew up in your vicinity, but on Maine side, Kittery and South Berwick. Worked in Dover, dated a girl in Rochester. Still have family in area including a brother in Rochester.

Bob's Clam Hut !!!

Welcome dmottv, please stick around and let us know what your weather is and what interesting activities you have scheduled for the day or something interesting you found out.

OK, new strategy. Join every club that could benefit by using the Tractor thus increasing seat time and then get the clubs to share the tractor in return for maintenance or other needs of the club. This could take several months as I weasel into the correct SIGs of the chartered clubs and find my contacts and gain their trust. The hiking club actually had me look into tractor rental but at $270 for the weekend and $300 delivery and pickup it was not in their budget. So shovels and mules tomorrow.

Spent the morning trailblazing and the afternoon in the attic reinforcing the joist in preparation for a floor.

Conversation overheard today:

Question: Why did you move to Elderland?
Answer: I'm newly divorced and I need the HOA to tell me what to do?

Hey Don
Maybe you get your own tractor and make it and you available to multiple groups.

32 and going down to 25°F overnight.
The 5" of snow we had this morning I took my time and got it relocated. Took me 4 hours to do everybody.

Maybe as a last resort . . . I can see at least 3 more years of trailblazing and then the trail maintenance.
The HOA has at least two tractors I will need to hit some serious dead ends first. I'm still looking for the ends.

Good evening all. 44F this morning, clear, light wind. Some high cirrus moved in, about 75% coverage reduced the glare and temps. Wind picked up as cold front moved through, and high temp was 61F. Dog left a present on the carpet this morning, not the best start to the day. Talking with his owner, she thinks the dog probably reacted to the spaghetti sauce. So dog was on straight dog food today, he let me know he expects the menu to improve, not until I quit getting "presents". Did get some leaf removal done, then felt the wind pickup so went for bike ride. Nice nap after lunch.
Don good luck on your sleuthing.
Dave (dnottv) :welcome:
Worked in a machine shop for 30 years, still have most of my hearing, occ. bouts of tinnitus, have not had a hearing test in 10 years :cool2:.
Randy, I remember the old Fairchild 227 turboprop, good airplane but noisy. In the late 70's there were a lot, but phased out quick in early 80's.
Drew good to hear your ear is not too serious, hate to hear your losing nice weather to it
prayers for all.
