Good evening all. 75F this morning, mostly cloudy, moderate wind. high temp at 9AM of 75F, rain started soon after, 2+ inch in gauge so far. Low temp is the current 67F, and rain appears to be over for now. Bought the wife a new car today, got home just as rain starting so no pic yet, 2019 Ford Explorer XLT, it hiding in neighbors carport. Leaving for 3 day trip to STL, nephew getting married. No bike ride due to rain. After dinner, went to low water #2, even after 2 in rain water only about 2 inch over road.
Eric sorry about the early wakeup.
Ron pretty lake nice large swim area.
Drew, good luck with watering, sounds like you are in for a long watering summer:eek:
RNG nice work on getting dirt bike started. Good luck with tractor project hope udt oil does not break the bank!!
David nice progress on project, all my experience is on retaining walls, not pavers. That wrong turn was a doozy!
Rick, wonder how long your fix will work, inquiring minds want to know.
prayers for all.

9ーC (about 48F) here today which is very cold by our standards, sun came out briefly and the howling wind died down a bit so I put the drone up to get some aerial shots of the property which is up for sale, got a high wind warning at 400' and the drone was rolling wildly (that I could see on the screen) so very carefully brought it home and found it had completely turned around.
Brought it back in and will try later when this wind drops.
Firts time I put the drone up in wind and it manages but I don't want to lose it just yet, DJI Mavic Pro.
Winter starts in two days but we are getting a preview, snow in the hills nearby.

David I would pack the sand as hard as I could with a 4" tamping tool that you might have to make then just lay the brick getting them nice and level with a rubber mallet. I would top off between the pavers with something like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/SAKRETE-PermaSand-40-lb-Paver-Joint-Sand-65470004/202070568

Try to make sure the ground will not compact anymore before you put the pavers down, you know your soil better than I do and how to accomplish that.

good morning all. Up way too early, another 98+++temp day, will stay in this afternoon and rest, though with all the house to put back after carpet cleaners left,
probably going to stay busy. Carpets look great, area rugs in particular that get the hardest use, by yours truly tracking the outdoors in. While I wasn't overly worried about what was under the bed, after five years only some dead bugs and a couple of buttons. Plus I asked him to spin my mattress around and he did that perfectly. Felt like a new bed last night.

Have some bills to pay, and some headway to make on this coffee.
Then at daylight I run water sprinklers outside. Possible afternoon storms today and tomorrow, will believe it when I see it.

David, you have really worked hard on that gas line project. Your wife is fully supportive and wants you to get the one
you really want. (what a gem of a wife!) The market is high and threatening to tank. Sounds like a good time to sell that underperforming
investment and get a new tractor. You needed to rebalance your portfolio anyway, right?
And the LS is the perfect color for a Pacific Ocean backdrop...

Bunyip, good to hear from you. Claye here is still getting snowed on and you are waiting for snow.
I'll keep that in mind today as the sweat drips off me.
We would love to see some pics of your area and tractor.

48° F and we are looking at a high of 70. Wind S 16 mph. 30% chance of showers.

I've got a dump/town run this afternoon. That is about all I am doing today.

Have a good day all

Good morning. Spring is moving on fast, May almost gone and the first lambs to make the 36 to 40kg grade have gone to market this morning.

Eric, did you make a wish?

I did and 15 minutes later it was granted - the neighbour's alarm finally turned off :D

Ron, those lakes look like a great adventure playground. I wasn't sure what "splash 'n' blast" was until I found this enticement to Martindale "Have a blast in the spray area as water shoots from cannons, palm trees, serpents and a whale". So that's how you two keep cool in summer ? :)

Pretty good day here. Got the 3 inch pvc sleeve in the trench, bedded in sand and mostly backfilled and compacted.

So, if anyone with paver experience care to offer advise, I’m all ears.

My plan:
Using 8x4x2 brick pavers (really red colored concrete)
Add about 2+ inches sand to trench, level but do not compact, leaving about 1 1/2 for the 2 inch brick. Backfill laid brick with sand. Not sure best approach from here. Tamp down, water, just let nature settle, or something else? I’m assuming the unpacked sand will pretty much take the extra 1/2 inch height, prefer a bit lower than too high, seems repacked dirt always settles for me.

Don, any words of wisdom? Anyone?

David, I hope that is ABS pipe, and not PVC, because the ABS is much tougher pipe. I used the same 3 inch ABS pipe to bury my 1 1/4 inch waterline, but of course I went much deeper than you did, and surrounded the pipe by Sand before backfilling with the (very) rocky dirt that came out of the trench.

Good luck with it!
