Don, I was surprised to see that TX does not have an Enhanced Driver license like MI and some other border states. Betty and I have Enhanced Driver licenses. They let us cross the border from Canada and Mexico. Also is proper ID for flying on domestic flights.

72 outside this AM. heading to lower 90's. Big storms came through late yesterday evening, took the humidity with them. No rain for us, and that grass I have been moaning about looks to be dormant now. Yesterday I managed to cut and whack what was left of the lawn duties. Wife was giving me crap about doing it in the worst part of the day. But I like being outside. Took a dip in the pool before the storms came, but it was not refreshing at all.

Looks like a beautiful week on tap here now that the humidity has moved on. Not sure what to tackle next, sure the wife has a list somewhere. LOL.

Have a great work week, a better day, and faster recovery to all that need it. Be safe.

80 going to 95, still humid here, but a little better.

The storm came rushing up yesterday with the usual wind and swirling clouds but put the brakes on right before reaching us, again. Hopefully some rain tonight.

RNG, sounds like a great rip. I just looked at Feather River Canyon and looks very nice...I like the river...wonder if some trout call it home...and the photos of the bridges crossing over each other are incredible. Is there much fire damage up there?

Thomas, when the bears were at there busiest here, I bought my wife a couple of bear books..."Living with Bears, Handbook" and "In the Company of Bears" with a foreword by Temple Grandin. Both are good...our bears left a week after I bought them. :) Since the bears left, a mama coon with 3 cubs, and two other adults have taken their place under the main bird food tree, so I have to continue bringing the feeders in each night.

BEF, and Randy, prayers for good health.

Good Morning. It's 76°F with 93% humidity and forecast says 96°F this afternoon.

My quick hitch install on the 3-point chain harrow got stalled yesterday. I need 4 x 7/8" flat washers and all I had were 3/4". So next time I'm in town, I'll stop by Tractor Supply, "try on some new outfits" and probably be disappointed, but not surprised, that they're out of 7/8 washers. I needed some Cat 1 to Cat 2 bushing for lift arms and top link, on my last visit, but the bins in that area, were for the most part empty. Mentioned this to two "associates" and got blank stares. Yesterday, I received a TSC email asking if I'd take a survey about my last visit? Oh yeah! Needless to say, I fully expect to hear back from them regarding my survey. Ok rant over!

I mowed with the ZT outside the area, in our "yard" with sprinklers yesterday for almost 5 hours. With almost zero rain, for the last 6 weeks, and our sandy soil, I had to blow out the radiator screens about every 45 minutes and had to clean the air filter at the end of the day. I was so filthy I decided to shower in the quarters in the shop.

Drew .... I had a tractor that liked to lose the pins, with clips, on the 3-point stabilizers. I replaced them with short 5/16 bolts and nylock lock nuts. No more problems.

BEF .... hope your treatments are starting to work.

Don .... for your compass rose, have you considered the garage floor coatings for concrete. They're very durable now and lots of colors available. Perhaps neon colors so the folks, on the ISS, could see it from space?

Randy ..... glad you're making daily improvement.

RNG .... Glad you enjoyed your weekend trip. Good luck with your chipped paint work.

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Good morning all,

Been some time since I posted. Not sure how it happened but I seem busier now than when I was working.:confused3:

I have been watering my fields for a second cut of hay. (alfalfa) It's nice and green and coming in very good with no weeds to speak of.

To those who have been having medical problems; my thoughts and prayers go out for you. I hope you can regain your health and enjoy life to the fullest.

Prayers for all and good luck.

The Camp Fire started very near the tiny town of Pulga, then spread mainly west. But it did make it northeast about five miles, and the construction crews were very active in the corridor from about Cresta southwest to a few miles past the bridge over the West Branch of the Feather River. Most of that damage occurred in the days following the main fire, meaning that the fire was mostly on the ground and not up in the trees, and the winds had died down considerably. So it was a good cleaning out of debris on the forest floor, and a lot of the trees survived the fire. The main concern along the highway was mud slides during the following winter months, so a lot of re-contouring of the steep road banks took place, and a LOT of material was hauled out of there. Looking at it now, you see many abandoned foundations in the Concow area, but it's hard to tell there was even a fire once you make it past Pulga, the regrowth has been so vigorous.

Funny you should mention the quick hitch, Rick. The JD saleman was all over trying to get me interested in their version. But the more he talked, the less interested I became. He showed how bushings had to be fit over the implement pins, and that the pin where the top link would attach was taken over by the top mount of the quick hitch. That top mount was another hook that engaged from the bottom, meaning that the top pin on the implement had to be approachable from the bottom, and that's not the case with most of my implements. So it would mean replacing most of my implements with green ones. Which explains the salesman's enthusiasm.

But yeah, I've quit going to TSC for fasteners, as there are too many holes in their inventory. Same with Fastenall, who also employs clerks that don't know a bolt from their left elbow. There's a shop that sells fasteners of all kinds on the other side of town, and since the large Orchard Supply Hardware stores went out of business, they've increased their inventory of many other hardware items as well. The only problem is that all of the fasteners are behind the counter, and the two or three clerks just can't keep up with demand, so there's often a ten or fifteen minute wait to get your turn.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

60ºF with less humidity for today’s low; 74º presently and the rain has just started to fall here. It thankfully will not be getting much warmer today. This HHH weather took its toll on me this weekend; reduced O2 transfer when “active” and increased neuropathy. At least the humidity and temperatures are more tolerable today and I anticipate no real HHH weather until next weekend.

RonJH- I am happy to read that your wife is + responding to the O2. I hope that she can be weaned from the O2 soon. HHH weather really can stress one’s respiratory and cooling functions. Thanks for sharing that fishing video.

Kyle- Thanks for sharing your fishing story.

Buppies- Congratulations on the pending wedding.

Randy- I am happy to read that you are getting more active. I hope you continue to improve.

BEF- I hope this series of treatment works. Peripheral neuropathy sucks.:(

RNG- I am happy to read that your outing went well and you returned home safe and sound.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day to start the work week.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all especially for those challenged by medical/physical issues.

Went to the Dr for annual visit Friday, talked about all my aches and pains, reviewed meds, got referral for massage and chiropractor for back pain. Our daughter building a house texted Friday that they could use some extra hands Saturday, so wife and I headed out and spent the whole day, I was the gopher that stayed down in daylight basement manning the saw and cutting boards to length as they needed them, also fetched other items so they didn't have to go up and down ladders all day. They still got a bunch of ladders trips in, but we got a good start on the main floor panels (SIPs). I was wore out from being on concrete all day, wife was too. We went to church yesterday and relaxed the rest of the day, even got a nap in.

Prayers for those in need, stay safe.
