Rest in Peace
Cloudy 77 degrees this morning, going for 89. For more than a week now, we've had some problems with our Spectrum cable system. My Internet service periodically goes down, then comes back after anything from 6 to 60 minutes. The TV never stayed down, but would flicker and go down for a matter of seconds. I had just thought that maybe Spectrum was working on a line somewhere and causing that. But then yesterday (Saturday) about half of our TV channels just showed "One Moment Please This Channel Should Be Available Shortly" but they were not coming up. So now, it's serious. My wife can't stand that. So yesterday I called and a nice young fellow did what checking he could and said he'd have to send a technician out here today between 8 and 9 a.m. (yep, they work on Sundays, too). A nice young fellow showed up about 8:15, and the rain (a downpour) arrived about 10 minutes later. With a little checking at the TV in the house, he got his raincoat on an checked the box on the outside of the house, then decided he was going to have to get his long ladder off the truck and go up the power pole.
So I told him that naturally, I wanted the service repaired as soon as possible, BUT that I wouldn't climb that ladder in a pouring rain and if he wanted to wait a day or two, that was fine with me. But after looking around and trying the ladder on 3 different sides of the pole, he went up there in the rain and found a loose connection he said, so he fixed it.
And about the time he got his ladder loaded, and was getting ready to leave . . . . . the rain stopped. Oh well, we needed that rain; a little over a half inch and probably about the same amount yesterday.
