Good morning! 79˚F heading to 102˚F. Yesterday I saw 101 on the Stinger. The auto stop is automatically disabled at these temps because the AC runs constantly.

Drew, I was actually the helper on this project. A couple volunteered to turn the weedy area into a landscape feature and it was my idea to put rock around it. After I got the rock picked and delivered I help him place the rocks on the gavel bed that I delivered prior.

Rick, the windmill does turn in the wind to provide visual enjoyment but that's about it. The gearbox is serviced once a year by checking/adding the oil. We have an electric pump well house that supplies water to the gardens and an emergency "city" water connection that we utilize when the well needs service.

I noticed it has been harder to read itty bitty tiny little labels and the eye Dr. confirmed. She gave me a new prescription that just changed slightly. My wife also had a change of prescription because eyesight got better.
So today the search for transitional progressives.

They are changing up medicare for next year, but I can't find out what they are changing.

Medicare often gets a mention on here so I though I would have a look online to try and understand how it works. Parts A to D, Plans A to N, deductibles, co-payments, lifetime reserve days and more :confused2:. Now my head hurts more than my fingers.

Yes, and Medicare is so good "they" want to roll it out as the national health plan, free for everybody, or course!:shocked:

69°F and foggy this morning, going up to 89° today. Had a chance at some rain last night, but it all missed us.

Wife finished painting the picnic table yesterday, but I never got out to take a picture of it. Told her last night that I needed to take some more pics to share with you guys, and she just giggled, both puzzled and amused that a bunch of guys she doesn't know might be at all interested in her little project. It did turn out quite nice, I must say.

Hope everyone is still on the mend where necessary.

Same thing happened with Social Security: My eligibility date got bumped out almost 18 months.

Reminds me of all the Coors beer brought home from Colorado when I was still living in Ohio. We didn't know it was supposed to be kept refrigerated, and we also didn't know what it was supposed to taste like. Just the fact that we couldn't get it was enough to make it think it was good.:laughing:

When on college, KC which had Coors 3.2 was 1.5 hours away by Cherokee 6. We would draw straws to see who got to go, 4 seat removed for the beer. Beer profits would pat about 65% of airplane cost so hours were cheep. Naturally did not sell ALL the beer

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 7:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 86F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like the cooling trend started yesterday, with a high of "only" 87F. Last night was the first in many weeks where the low dipped into the 60s. Feels nice to get the house opened up again.

The eves on this house are so long the carpenters that built the place had to splice two two by sixes together with a long overlapping taper. Of course they used nails to hold the two pieces together, and here we are twelve years later and the nails are backing out. I'd already repaired the eve I worked on yesterday, with drywall screws, but the screws broke, and one head had backed out a quarter inch. I found all this out as I was wire brushing the blistered paint off, and resolved to use lag bolts to repair it this time. I was really glad it was a low eve, and I could work while almost comfortable sitting on the roof tiles. The two pieces of the splice had also warped sideways, but a big C clamp got them back into alignment. But the two lag bolts weren't enough to close the gap between them all the way; fortunately the caulking gun already had a tube of paintable caulk already in it, and for once the nail in the end of the tube came right out and so did the caulk.

The instructions on the side of the tube said it could be painted in two hours, so I used that time to start filling in the trenches I'd dug to repair the sprinkler lines. Got some seat time moving three buckets of dirty left over decomposed granite sand to the trenches to cover the new PVC lines. Then pushed the mounds of dirt into the trenches on top of that, and wheel rolled it with the tractor to compact it. Still have some rocks to move into position, but is sure is nice not to have to hop over open trenches to get to the hummingbird feeders to refill them. Still have a couple spots to fill around back, which I may get to today. After lunch I got that eve primed, and was delighted to find it was by then in the shade. After a little clean up the day was pretty much done, so I emptied another pair of Shiner Bocks on the back porch, alternating under the outdoor shower this time because of the warm water it provided vs. the cold stuff from the sprinkler system. These days I need 90s if I'm gonna go into cold water; I must be gittin' soft!:laughing:

Maybe try to get a motorcycle ride in this morning if I can wake up. I tried the new antihistamine last night, and though I slept well, I'm still more than a little groggy and dopey. I'll give it one more shot tonight, but it seems Xyzal (how do they come up with these names?) messes me up like most antihistamines.:tired:

Interesting morning, set the garden on fire with my new handy dandy torch, which I was burning weeds with. Got into the straw, good thing I had a
hose ready to go nearby. Of course the main handle was up, but no water. What? run back and find the two way selector in off position.
In fact I'm headed back out there to double check to see if anything is smoldering. Trying a non chemical weed removal.

Well, Toppop is really having a rough time of it, he asked me to pass this along. He is sure right where he needs to be with folks watching over him.

I’m still in hospital waiting on a heart cath on Monday. I’ve had a bad aortic valve for years and this sepsis I had made it worse. So at minimum it will need replacing. Doc says 50/50 that’s all but we shall see.

beautiful blue sky day out, hot of course, headed back to mow pastures in cab tractor. Changed to set of dry clothes, that sure felt better.

I've tried, with little success to find "unbiased" information, comparing supplemental plans and types of supplemental plans. Everything I've found is produced by the insurance companies and they push what they sell.
