Randy, after mom passed, her boyfriend had open heart surgery. Same symptoms as you: No energy, blockage, leaky valve. He had more vigor once through the recovery, but the recovery wasn't fun. Got a couple good years out of it, then other parts of him started falling apart. He seemed to think it was worth it, and with a prognosis and family like yours, you'll make the right decision. Goodness knows we'll all be pulling for you!

Randy, you may recall from older posts, my wife had a heart valve replaced back in February. Recovery took a while, but she's OK now...so, your recovery will come as it comes...our best wishes are with you

Good morning. Hay making is still off the agenda, a pattern of rain every other day looks set to continue all week long. Today's "high" expected at 17C/63F.

Several years ago an old farmer told me they used to tackle Canada thistle in pasture by rolling. I wish I had asked him more, such as what stage of growth and how often it needed doing to be effective. There is lots on the internet about spraying herbicides, grazing methods and cutting thistle, but I've not been able to find anything about crushing. Yesterday I started my own trial on a field where they have been cut and now new regrowth is emerging. I rolled it for a couple of hours, some places with multiple passes and others with none. It will be interesting to see if there is any difference over the next few weeks.

Randy, best wishes for Wednesday. That is certainly not a trivial decision, but my guess is that it was an easy one for you to make. At worst, you just don't wake up again, which is simply something that will happen to every one of us one day. Much more likely though that they get your engine running again and you can look forward to seeing the best smile ever on Ellen's face when you come around from the aesthetic.

BEF, don't get too comfortable in that new room, we want you out for good on the 23rd :)

hot day today, going up to mid 90's.
off to dentist first thing to get drilled on, hopefully just the one filling.
They begged off doing it in January when my ear was so bad, no way could I handle a drill vibrating my head.
Think I'll be ok today.
Then back to hopefully work with lawn crew to do some tree trimming before it gets too hot.

PJ, best of luck with your stepson. Family, for better or worse, and almost always, for better...
Takes a lot of patience and a flexible what now attitude, hope your stepson grows up quickly and finds direction.

Mostly, keep hydrating and be careful in heat.
am curious about your bike tires, immediately thought of course radials would be the best, but reading up oh no,
you seem to want to ride on very hard non flexing tires for lowest rolling resistance. But what about ride or grip?

77 going to 91 and storms likely...we need rain badly, but not the wind, hail, and tornados that might accompany this storm.

We had a refreshing breeze yesterday morning turning into a pretty good wind. Unfortunately, the forecast had been for calm...so for the second day in a row, I was fooled by the weather forecast as I had prepared to spray...luckily I had not filled the 55 gallon tank. Now storms are forecast for several days.

Instead of spraying, I dug some more sand out of the creek...the leopard frogs weren't happy that I was invading their favorite spot.

Hope Riptides is getting along well.

Poured first cup of coffee. 69° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with some sun in afternoon. Never got to yesterdays projects. Seemed to spend most of the day on phone with home care people. Still need to get filters in pond changed. Water is starting to turn green. House cleaner comes today. Take dogs in for grooming. Visiting nurse comes also. No visits from PT and Speech therapy yet.

Roy, way to early too leave for work.

Randy, the people I know that have had surgery like yours have fared very well after recovery. Prayers for you, Ellen.

Mostly, been a busy spring/summer here. Bike has not had it cover taken off yet.

Good Morning All.

Buckeye, sounds like your recovery is headed in right direction. Prayers for you.

Drew, tooth drilling is not one of my favorite things to visit a dentist for.
