Everyone so busy here, hard to keep up, but I do really enjoy reading about it. Even learning stuff like limey mortar.

To continue... I finally took some pictures:

3) From the Grille Side.
The far corner is where the Wine Bottle Wall will be going (the two Bench Seats)... "IF" I can figure out how to drill a hole in the bottom of the Wine Bottles.:shocked:

4) M Granddaugther's first reaction, no a really good picture but I'm not good with the Phone Camera.

Getting there, any opinions on two things:

1) Drilling Wine Bottles from the bottom.

2) Outdoor Gas Fireplace, I'm thinking Meatal Studs with Cement Board, then a stone of some kind.

Thx/ Ltr

I've used diamond drill bits, one was a Dewalt &the other larger one was a different co.,Diamond drill ??? I'm pretty sure I got both of them from Amazon. I used them to drill holes in the bottom of wine bottles for my wife to make bird feeders with. I'm sure if you just search for diamond drill bit or maybe glass drill bits you'll find them. Thet were a little pricey as I remember but did a good job. Just have to be patient.

Good evening all. 75F this morning, overcast, humid, calm wind. wind was light to moderate, overcast all day, thunder started at 1PM, rain about 2:39 but did not last, maybe 1/4 inch. High temp was 80F HI 86. went to get wood this morning, and put it in the to be split pile, some pieces will need to cut in half for the insert :( . Did get the mower drive belt swapped out. Also got chained lubed for tomorrows ride in Greenville.
The Volagi has not been repaired yet, no reason given. Looking for alternatives :mur:

.
I’ve been dealing with bronchitis for a few days, went to the doctor yesterday and I’m feeling much better today, not well, but way better.

I thought i had bronchitis when it turned out to be pneumonia back in june. Get well!!

I struggled to wake up this morning. The fingers on my right hand thought still thought they were curled around the handle of a pointing trowel. It was a long day yesterday but at least the snug wall is now done and as requested, here is a proof-of-roof pic, taken yesterday morning.

Got a roof.jpg

It won't win any beauty prizes even after I clean off the bricks, but should at least remain standing for a good few years. This is the view from the windows.

Roy, it's a while since I lost a tooth, though I well remember the sensation of my tongue constantly wanting to check out the hole. Having a dozen yanked in one go can't be much fun for your jaw and your poor tongue must be tired out from probing all those craters !

Scrambler, that looks a great place to sit out. You wanted a tip for drilling wine bottles - drink contents first ;)

Today is my wifey's birthday. She makes things so easy for me, she's already bought her present.
You lucky, lucky man. On the occasions when my wife has bought her own present, I have felt simultaneously pathetic and euphoric :) Belated birthday wishes to Mrs Kyle.

56 going to upper 80s. Summer is back.

Scrambler, looking good. My wife will help you drink the wine.

Roy and Randy, hope you're doing better today.

Eric, looks like a beautiful place to do outside work. Sounds like your hand needs a rest...switch to your opposite hand today for a real challenge :)

Had a special treat yesterday...saw a bobwhite couple herd their chicks into the rose and honeysuckle hedge in our yard from the nearby field. They must have had a late nest as the approximately 8 chicks were tiny. I manage a lot of our land for wildlife, especially hoping to help the quail recover. With the number of foxes, coyote, hawks and bobcats around here, it will be a challenge. But they have lots of cover and food sources.

good morning all.
Ten day forecast same as today, sunny, high in mid to upper 80's, lows at night in sixties. Nice Fall weather here.
All this dry weather means I have no excuses not to finish my outside painting, so when guest leaves on Monday, that's my goal for next week.
Folks to the West of me didn't get the nine inches of hurricane Dorian rain, so all this dry weather for them isn't so good. Should have a real impact on
the Fall leaf show.

Roy, oh my, I hope you are ok this morning. I hope you made yourself a nice ice cream smoothie when you got home.

Eric, nice job. Jim, nice job. Lot of talent here.
Mostly, don't you think you could have gotten a little more time out of that belt? I'd say you got your money's worth.
Sometimes replacement belts are higher quality than oem, hope the new one lasts a long time. My mower is five years old, 700 hours,
on original belt. An expensive JD belt, kevlar likely in it, and wow is it durable. I bought a spare and it's hanging on the wall, waiting, waiting...
I think at 1000 hours I'll replace it. JD service said they get up to 3500 hours on the mower deck spindles. I'd love to know who their supplier is.

I learned something new and interesting here this morning on another thread.
In Europe, they use chains as blades on their rough cut mowers, they say lasts longer than blades.
Talk about a rough cut...but if one has rocks, and lots of them, interesting adaptation.

No dawdling this morning, have fruit to cut up for breakfast. Then we are headed downtown to look at the sights and perhaps
shop for some lightweight prints for the walls of the rv. Looks kinda bare in there, need to add some color.
You know, some velvet flocked nudes, dogs playing poker, the good stuff... :D

Then we are off to Bill's Hot Dogs, a local institution, for lunch. It's where you order your hot dogs "all the way" and they come out with
chopped onions, mustard, ketchup and a dab of chili. Between the onions and the chili it's heart burn city.
We might then head to the shrimp docks an hour East of here and buy some fresh shrimp
right off the boats for dinner Sunday tonight. We are going to a local seafood restaurant tonight. I've decided that going out to more meals is a lot easier
on me than cooking.
