I was not aware of Roy's affection for thongs. I am a newbie on this thread because saying good morning is difficult for me, was it Sam Elliot in WE WERE SOLDIERS that made me think when ever i said GOOD MORNING I would get his response?
Roy I do hope you do not wear your thongs around York county, my eyes would suffer.

08-11-2012 Currently 73 degrees. High of 87 expected. The ground is semi wet now, and there is a big rock that I have been attempting to dig up. It has had my name on it for several days, and the digging should be easier now. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

71 headed to 87 also. Got a litte rain last night it seems. I'm planning to get some seat time today no matter what, doing something, anything...

A friend from Church is coming over to get some wood for his smoker & bringing all of his family that is home from college with him. Great people, and the one daughter is a baker extrodinaire and she made me a cheese cake :licking: I'm looking forward to that too!

Need warm coffee this morning. 57 degrees with rain. Heading to70 with continuing rain. Weather report showed that I am in a area that has gotten almost 6" of rain in the last 2 days. I believe it. Water has been running out the overflow tube on our pond since Thursday afternoon. Indoor projects again today.

It's 59 here @ 0600 and cloudy .... I could swear I hear light rain though .... the high today is supposed to be around 70 degrees and cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. Pretty cool for early August - in fact the next ten days are mostly supposed to be only in the 70's ....

We've gotten a good bit of rain over the last week or so - the lawn has really greened up and started growing - will need to be cut again shortly .... wish I hadn't pulled the mower off quite so quickly.

While we really needed the rain, it's sorta put a damper on getting any work done over at the barn on the retaining wall, since it would quickly turn into a mud pit .... so I'm starting to switch gears, look ahead and think about this coming fall and winter, which will be here all too quick I'm afraid.

Called a local structural steel warehouse yesterday and got some ball park prices on a couple of things. Ended up being a little surprised that steel prices weren't higher than what I was quoted - not that it's all that cheap: sheet/plate around $ 0.60/lb and rectangular/square tube around $ 0.70 ....

So true, David...it didn't happen. We have had 3 inches of rainfall over the past three days...hope it is in time to save the farmer's crops locallybut I doubt it will suffice.

60 here, headed for 72? Odd that July was hotter than August. Looking for something to do inside today. Rain again. Local beans look really good, corn is real bad, little tiny ears, won't make much of a crop.

Woke to mid 50's and projected high in the mid 80's. They keep saying we are going start seeing regular rain. I got almost 4" last week. Looks like I'm gonna have to get the mower out. Cant believe it's 9:00 and I'm not dressed and ready to head outside.

good morning its a sunny morning but cool 54 going up to 75 today,with low humidity.

On the cool side this morning, only 9.2C or 48.5F at 6:45AM.
Nice sunny day though with high of 84F this afternoon. Been busy smoking Sockeye salmon and also replaced regular vents on the roof with Whirlybirds. Today the plan is to make some wire doors for the hay shed plus one or two others that I can pick from a couple hundred items on my to do list.
