Ron,
have you found any unknown treasures?
I remember cleaning out my grandfather's attic. Forty years of dust on everything.
A real trip into the past, old letters, roaring twenties hats, etc. Nothing worth anything,
but wonderful family memorabilia.

What's your favorite thing you've found?
Drew

47 right now...high of 77 predicted. No precipitation in the forecast.
Guess I'll do some mowing once the dew evaporates...

Wet weather moving into this area. Odd, must have missed that on the news.
80's with light rain and increasing humidity.

Last night I was finishing drywall work on the ceiling of my new building. Man I *hate* overhead work. I need to prime and paint the whole thing by tomorrow at 6PM. In the meanwhile, I am at another day job.....Stress, pressure......

Looks like rain, dark all of a sudden.
Drew, tell Nadene we are thinking of her.
David, you got good advice from David.

Drew, that scratch is a badge of honor, proves you use it like it's meant to be. As for skegs,I've ground, filed, filled, replaced more on Mercruisers than I can count. If it sits on the trailer it doesn't get broke, but you don't have any fun.

good morning I thought we would get 2 days no rain but looks like it's coming this evening thru Friday. looks like a rough week for the Galax fiddlers convention, I not been sence the early 70's but it was pretty wild then. ok got to get it in gear running behind. everyone have a great day.

daugen; Now you can enjoy driving it, 'cause it's "broke in"! I have a friend that says he takes a ball peen hammer to anything he gets brand new, because once it gets its first ding, he can quit trying to protect it, and get busy driving it!

I have to question the common sense of your friend if he actually does that...I just purchased a new laptop computer...do you think I am going to hammer it....??? JEEZE.....I ain't the sharpest tool on the rack but I am far from dull.

Morning all. Sunny, 80 with 88% humidity. Forecast high of 93 with 50% chance of rain. When I went out on back porch to feed the dog and the back yard cat, there were six deer just past the deck in the edge of the longleafs. Three of them were bucks. Since they didn't run, I eased back inside and got the camera. Had to shoot through the screen, so the quality is not the best. You may have to enlarge the picture to see any horns. {or not. It just makes it blurry}

My truck mp3 player got in yesterday. It has to be plugged in to the lighter thingie to power up, so I'm heading out to the truck to see if I can load some music on it. It cost less then $7 and was shipped free from Shanghai. No packaging except ziplock and bubble wrap. I wonder if things fall off the back of trucks in China like they do here.

Just don't take the roof off a gas station cover for the pumps or maybe the roof off a McDonalds drive-through. Be careful and let's not show up on COPS or some reality show. :D

ok, I have to fess up. I really screwed up.
Since age sixteen, when I rolled my pristine 58 Chevy, I have not put a scratch on a car, and that's a fair
while ago. And now I did. With my new motorhome. :(

Had a great first trip until almost home, and severe summer construction on 95 near Philadelphia really bit me.
Was plodding along in right lane, avoiding the rush of traffic when the road simply disappeared and I am right up against concrete barriers on the right, and zero clearance. My eyes got very wide. And then the bang. Not a big bang, we thought we ran over something and it got kicked up. But something was sticking out of that barrier, because it left a paint scuff down the entire twenty eight feet of motorhome. No denting, hopefully buffable, but a real lesson for me to avoid the right lane in construction at all cost. I always go over there to be polite, but forget about it from now on, I'm in the middle lane and let everyone else keep their distance.

Oh well. Just like in boating, you never bend a prop if you never leave the dock.

not that you need our advice, BUT
listen to her demands
make NO comment or response
then leave
dont give any clue and show no emotion
you will leave knowing a lot about what she is thinking
she will leave wondering what you are thinking
IF you can do, the ball will be more in your court.

It's been a whirlwind with my grandkids here since Saturday night about 8 PM. I got a rental SUV on Saturday at noon that had plenty of space for all of us. We've squeezed everything into two days that you can squeeze. Sunday, it was fixing a big breakfast and then paddle-boating on our lake and feeding catfish followed by target shooting with the .22 rifle and then clay pigeons with the 12 ga. After that, a late lunch of smoked spareribs, fried okra, grilled squash and coleslaw with melons for dessert. Late in the afternoon, it was fishing and then after dark fireworks until 9:45 PM. We got up at 6 AM on Sunday and drove down to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park at Glen Rose, TX for a viewing wildlife/exotic animals from the rental car. The drive-thru is about 30 miles of winding roads through the park and was extremely enjoyable see everything from wildebeest herds to cheetahs in a wild setting called the Cheetah Conservatory. After we left the park, we raced back to the metroplex to have dinner with my other Daughter and her kids and my new great-grandbaby. When we went to the restaurant (Golden Corral), we found that the manager was my wife's 1st cousin, so he called his family to come to the restaurant to see us.:D We left the restaurant and headed home (65 miles) so my grandkids could leave and head back to Oklahoma where they both had appointments this morning at 9 AM. WHEW! DOUBLE WHEW!!! What a weekend. It was terrific! :cloud9:

The weather has been really strange lately. Last week the temperatures were in the mid 90's all week. This weeks forecast is today 92, then 90, 88, 87 then 89 on Sunday. It should be in the 100's.

Must be about to rain everywhere! Same here in Mississippi prairie. Low pressure, and causing me old fibromyalgia pain to kick in worse today.

Moving slow, as usual for my mornings. One good cup of coffee so far. Watching Todd Carmichael finding coffee on his Dangerous Grounds show! Met that old boy in May in Bangkok on his way to northern Thailand on another coffee hunt. What a pleasure for me! Love good coffee.

It's gonna be darn hot here this weekend. My wife bought me a new hat for working outside on 100+ F days. It's over 18" across the brim. I have to steam and crease it so I don't look like the local Amish farmer, but it will sure keep the sun off my head and neck. It's made of palm straw and sells for around $29 at our local farm/feed store. :)

Do you plan to drive that laptop around on the roads and park it in a parking lot? Yep, friend really does add his first ding, himself. That way, he isn't upset when the idiot parks next to him and then dings it in the lot.

I'll just pull up my t-shirt sleeve and show them my "white card." All my grandkids come up to me and lay their arms next to mine. The difference is dramatic. I have the typical farmer's tan.:D
