Just got back from looking at the tractor. It is an older {1960's ??} gas engine Case O Matic 540. Turns out it is an old friend of mine who is selling it. He picks up a lot of old stuff in trade and works on it, then resales it. They are listing this one on craigslist for $2K, but he said he would take $1800, or even less if it didn't sell right away. It is bigger and older than what I was looking for. Plus I'm not crazy about the gas engine. But it did start right up. The lift didn't leak down on it. The pto and clutch work.

But what caught my eye was a couple of 8N Fords he had under the shed. One of them had 300 on the front emblem. He said it was a Golden Jubilee model. They were both in good shape, but he works both of them, so he wasn't wanting to sell either.

I was going to take pictures, but it was pouring down rain. I didn't want to try dodging the drops with my camera.

Well, seems weather here in northeast Mississippi is beginning to change a bit from summer pattern. Cooler this morning, and cloudy. We'll be into hurricane season soon, and sure hope we our coast does okay this year. Never fully recovered from Katrina. Still very nice though! Y'all come on down! Some of the best seafood you'll get anywhere! Shrimp, lobster, and crab are safe from my teeth though. Developed allergy to them rascals last year, spent whole night in emergency room. Fish are still in danger of me teeth though.

good afternoon all. Didn't see this morning temp but was in the upper 50's high forecast is for 79F and sunny w/ light north breezes. Granddaughter turned 21 so cleanup for party in on the agenda today.

Then your weather was from daugen! I didn't close the house and turn the A/C back on until 1400. It is 90.6* out there, at 1610. Most of us in my dancing area got some rain, even if it wasn't a gully washer. :laughing:

OBX has been great even though the sun never shined today.

Tomorrow if no sun we leave early for home. If sun we will check out of the house and go to beach... Then go home.

I have two loud parties at work tonight. There is a headbanging concert at one end of the building, and a black back to school dance at the other end. Hope they don't mind me wearing my hearing protection in the office.

At least the folks with the class reunion tomorrow night are closer to my age. Even if the music is loud, it will be something I can stand to listen to.

Going to Raleigh tomorrow to do some shopping will take state route 86 to I40 then on to Raleigh one of my favorite ways to go very pretty scenery along the way. Hopefully will not run into to much rain, just a day trip Sunday afternoon more grass to mow and spread load of topsoil that we brought up this afternoon tractor time yippee !!!

I've been up since 0530. 70% chance of rain here in Corolla NC so we will leave soon.

But it has been nice to take a couple days off with good friends. reduced my stress and anxiety levels a little, and relaxed a bit.

I will find a way to do this again soon...

Poured first cup of coffee. 49ｰ with clear skies this morning. Heading to 79 with lots of sun. Going to the Woodward Dream Cruise for a few hours to enjoy the cars driving by.
