dave1949--I'm not sure of the exact number but I think in the late 1990's something like 60% of all new housing units north of Augusta were mobile homes.

Is it the few months of heat or something else? Everything is AC except outdoors and the morning temps always start around 70s˚.

Nope...she's got something against Mexicans...

You guys sure make me glad I'm not in the job market anymore, good luck.

the sun is over the yardarm and the passing shower is done.
Texas looks quite nice, mid to upper seventies on a clear evening.
Bet that will make a nice sunset.

And for those of you in Minnesota where it is likely snowing,
just think, it's 90 degrees right now in Havana.
There's an ice cold Cristal beer waiting for you on the old polished bar, starting to drip in anticipation...

It is 80* here, and the beer is COLD. What more could one ask for?

Sunset at the Larro Ranchero. Sitting here at my laptop, I saw this out the door and went to see if I could do it justice. It looked better in real life.

Good Evening. 1900, sprinkling rain, 69* with 93% humidity. Forecast low for tonight is 54* with 30% chance of rain. We had light rain all morning. It stopped about dinnertime, and has just started sprinkling in the last few minutes. I went to Marianna today and bought some corn for the deer at the Farmer's Co-Op. Picked up a new game cam, one with IR this time. But still on the low end, price wise. Also got a three pack of new arrowheads at Wally World, and a used arrow at one of the pawn shops. I have a few already, so I hope that will be enough. It's not like you can shoot more than one before the deer is gone.

Roy, you can't go anywhere with fruit or veggies to be picked without seeing Mexicans. We have our fair share here, for the melons, peppers and tomatoes. When I was a kid, white folks did that kind of work. Not anymore.

35 degrees this morning and the temps are heading down for the rest of the week.
Looks like we will get that killing frost and maybe have less ticks!

49 this morning going to high 50s later on a few showers maybe then colder thru weekend with a chance of snow showers. Sam hope you don't move to far away. Good morning all

30*, clear and calm.

Yep, Dang ticks! We are taking ticks off the dogs about every day.

We could use some rain. Our rain pond is lower than it's been all summer. The fall moisture will come eventually, hope it begins as liquid.

Just a small note for those of us in the east who follow weather around the 8th of November or so very mild conditions to appear over the middle and eastern parts of our country through the rest of November blow torch in fact very very mild. For those of us who like cold and snow not so good, but it is the weather so that may change

good morning all. Warmer this morning than I thought it would be, but a wet day ahead in parts. I look at the radar and the rain is colored blue over Ohio....sleet. Yuk.
Buppies, a warmish and calm November will be just fine. Good weather to rv in...

A friend helped me move some of the heavy implements into storage yesterday. Kind of a backhanded compliment to TSC's Countyline plows, my friend was amazed how heavy the single bottom plow was. And we got it all done without pinching fingers or toes. We used a couple of generic dollies that were ok, not great, but the job got done.

Yeah...it's not my problem...wife's problem. I'm just the idiot that goes along with her wishes.

I had to chuckle at this Roy. When I drive my wife up to New Brunswick NJ, where Robert Wood Johnson is, we take a
long slow ride through the areas heavily populated by Mexicans and likely others from South of us.
We always like looking at their kids. They are spotless, perfectly dressed, and usually well behaved.
Proud parents. Out for a stroll with their kids, going to school, or returning usually. Just really nice family behavior.
Sadly that is not what normal inner city family life looks like.

We always magnify the bad apples, but my experience with Hispanics has been very positive. They are here looking for work and a better life.(just like my grandfather did in 1901 when he came through Ellis Island) And most of them work really hard to get it. Yup. No problems with that if you pay taxes and support the system vs. just drain it.
And how about coming in the front door...:confused3:

Remember, a really large part of the US once was Mexico...
Well, probably not, it really "belonged" to the Native Americans.

ok, way too far off topic, sorry.
