I am full time reader but seldom poster on this thread. Seldom because I HATE to talk in the morn...and since the Good Morning thread gets read in the morn..I quietly sit by and watch the extended "family" scurry around getting ready for their day. I might mention that you guys (and FG) will occasionally elicit a short grunt, growl, tear or chuckle; or your posts might cause me to stop reading and reflect in quiet thought. With all that said (so early on a Saturday) - the real reason for my post: Drew, you are an awesome man. You have done much to comfort Nadine, to provide an altered lifestyle that you both could share thru her illness. I am amazed and very proud of you. That men still exist that believe in the wedding vows - till death do us part. Undoubtedly, you have shared only the fun and pretty aspects of being the caregiver of a terminal patient. Your creative ideas to bring one more smile to your brides lips. But we know there is little in regards to "fun and pretty" in these situations. Again sir, you are an awesome man. I pray now for the Lord's will to be done. You sir have earned a basketful of crowns. May God bring peace to you.

Good morning all. 42F cloudy and breezy this morning. Going to 56F sunny and light breezes. The south wall has many windows which is slowing progress for the "painting". Should finish by tomorrow, and on to mowing and leaf pick-up.

When you visit Nadine hold her hand and talk to her about the garden and other wonderful memories you have with her. We never know what our loved ones can feel and hear. I had been told by the doctors my dad wasn't aware of anything and couldn't hear us. After several days I asked dad if he could hear me blink his eyes. He blinked so hard there was no question that he could hear us. From then on we talked with him by asking yes or no questions.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Margie, you are correct hearing is the last to go.

Drew lord be with you and Nadine, you are a good man.

39 this morning and heading up to 44 today! Hard to believe daylight savings time is over now we will have dark mornings and dark early win the afternoon Not sure if I can take it.

Poured my last cup of coffee for the day. 27° with mostly clear skies. Heading to 44° with sun most of the day. Going off daylight savings is going to take a few days to get adjusted to. Got friends visiting today. Wife says WE need to clean house before they arrive. Then we will be watching football and NASCAR.

Pretty clear out, but flurries are also in today's forecast.

Yesterday, after a couple of chores, I managed to "break a trail" to the White River at the end of our property. I did this with the Gator.
Wasn't too bad going through...fair amount of locust trees and some long stickers. One hump to go over, otherwise a relatively flat run to the river. Not much use going back there with the rotary cutter yet and I will need to drop some trees (fairly small stuff...25' tall, maybe) first.
As long as I start clearing late winter or early Spring, I should have a nice path to the river next year.

Good Morning. 0725, sunny, 50* with 95% humidity. Forecast high of 72*. I have a family reunion at work today. They have been coming this same weekend for at least the 22 years I have been there. It will be bitter sweet in that the man who was in charge died two weeks ago. I have talked to his son and brother this week, but this will be the first time I have seen his widow since he passed. It will be good to see all of them, but sad at the same time.

Family reunions are all about the old going and the new coming in to take their places. A while back we were in the Outer Banks with both son and daughter, spouses and grandsons. I told my wife,"We had our time, now it's their time to take on the world, we can just watch and enjoy." When the end of my time comes I hope they close the lid, play a few Buffett tunes and go have a good time. Lord knows I plan to!.

Cool and breezy, still fighting the sciatica, not much change, see an orthopedic doc this week.

I never played golf, but driving the golf cart will be my job.

My sister booted me out of the hospice room and told me to go outside, so I will. Going to blow leaves again with my new blower and this time I'll remember the camera.
