Dreary looking day here, some rain but looks to be winding down. Mid 50's to mid 60's today.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I'm thinking of going for a Lyme's Disease test today, even though all my white cell and platelets are normal. Gotta be a reason.

37 this morning and heading to the high side of 50 today and again tomorrow! Compacting the fill today and we will start laying block on Monday or Tuesday. Lumber will arrive on Wednesday, what fun starting a project this late in the year!

I missed what it is you are building? Is that a frost wall sticking up around the perimeter?

36 right now...high of 54 and clear today.

Chore of the day is to contend with a flat tire on the Subaru. I'm not sure why it's flat...haven't driven it in over a week, but I want to see if the tire will inflate. Probably take it to a service station on Monday to see if there's a nail or something in it...

Don't forget to spit on the valve stem. :D

Cloudy and mild, headed to upper 40's today.

Good Morning. 0900, sunny, 64* with 89% humidity. Forecast high of 77* with a 20% chance of rain. My early event at work cancelled, so I don't have to go in until after lunch. We have a ton of leftovers, so no need to cook. But Margie is fixing a broccoli salad.:licking:

Drew, it is good to have help. If you are using a splitter, remember not to adjust the log at the last second. My sister tried to see how flat she could make her hand by doing that. {ouch}

Everyone have a good day.

Morning!! Helping the wife at her shop. I think she will take a couple weeks off, then go for very light duty for months. Little overcast here, didn't get real warm yesterday, but the snow melted off.

Have a good one!!!

If I recall it was close to the last exit of the Maine turnpike.

That's about right. The last turnpike toll booth, Gray-New Gloucester, is south of that area. My wife used to work in Turner, the town to the west of Leeds.

My project gate.
Ok, not a true gate, more a movable panel. almost 10ft, hinged on both sides, so readily able to swing either direction or remove completely if needed.
Basically, access for my tractor.
I think wife is a bit disappointed it isn't a real gate, there are 2 real 6ft gates at other end.
Very happy with the results.

Looks like a fine gate to me, David. I'm sure that carries a lot of weight with your wife.

Where did you get the gate corners and tees? Are those standard parts from a chain link fence company?

/ Good morning!!!! #16,254
Thanks Dave.
Corners readily available at Home Depot. Couldn't find the Tee, so used PVC plumbing and just reamed it a bit so it would slip over the pipe.

David, the gate and fence look good. I see what you mean about it not being level. I bet it was a challenge to get it all together.

Thanks Larro
This section has been the most challenging, and time consuming. All the fence is now installed, but needs to be dressed, wire tied and hog ringed. Two more small gates for convenience, one at top end of this run and another one to build where the dog area meets our lanai at the master suite. We did start removing the old steel wire fence today. Most of the wire rolled up, but will need the tractor to pull the old posts.

Here's a pic showing old fence and new post, just to give an idea how much more room the dogs get to enjoy. (And we get to mow with rider instead of push mower.

28 degrees and by all accounts looks like we are in for rain later today, tonight and also tomorrow! We need the rain so I cannot complain too loudly, but there is a couple tons of cement blocks in the back yard Along with a ton of cement in 80 pound bags. All covered up for rain protection so it looks like work will start onTuesday.

30 degrees right now, high of 50 and rain in the forecast.

As far as the flat tire on the Subaru:

Don't forget to spit on the valve stem. :D

It didn't appear to be leaking at the valve stem. However, the tire had popped off the rim (not sure why) in one spot and when I was trying to inflate it, the air just passed through. Once I jacked it up and started inflating, the tire re-seated on the rim and I got 35 psi in the tire. It seems to be holding pressure now (visually) and I'll check the pressure with a tire gage in a few hours.
