good morning all. Four to six inches here, and it's not far off. I never had to shovel the last time, don't think I'll escape this one. I need to get a couple cases of beer for my energetic neighbor... I go to get a melanoma carved out of my back this morning, so probably I shouldn't be shoveling today for a number of reasons. Beer always works...

Well this should sure put everyone in the Christmas spirit. And I even got the tree decorated last night, and it looks pretty neat from the street through the bay window. Ho ho ho. I guess I'd better start buying some stuff to put under it.
Hmmm, ferrari 458 Italia? too big to fit. John Deere 6030? yeah, kind of big too.

Actually I will be quite content with the love of family and the friends in my world.

38 and light rain this morning temperature to fall through out the day and turn to snow 1 to 3 before day is done. Went to Christmas party last night good friends good time. Kitchen still not ready waiting on counter tops. Slowly but surely decorating outside getting done inside will have to wait. Electric starter on generator burnt up but that will have to wait. 33 right now and a high of 27 today...so the high will be 6 degrees less then the morning temperature.
We got less then 1" of snow. I wanted to wait until the precipitation was done since we did expect some sleeting as well. My chore today will be to clean the decks, walkways and driveway.
Looks like some seriously cold weather over the next few days...

I am fine here. I had my girls and freezing rain this last weekend and got behind reading posts.

Yesterday was worse, had a small pine tree across the easment driveway I had to break/shove in my suit so I could get to work. Got home late last night to a downed tree across half the loop driveway by the house. I'm gonna break out the tractor today for sure!

Supposedly getting snow this morning, can't see it yet...

Off to Denver tomorrow for 2 days business. This weekend I need to do all my Christmas shopping because I will not have the girls.

I wonder if this thread is intimidating in a way to new members because how in the world could one read the whole thing from the beginning? You could dump it to your Kindle and come back from vacation in a week and still be reading...

Good morning guys, been feeling much better this week, hope it keeps up, got a busy week. Shopping last night, still no decorations, grandson in Front Royal has a Christmas program Thursday night at 7, wife has an internal interview at 11:15 Friday morning in Snow Hill, MD. A mere 225 miles apart. Younger grandson has his Christmas program next week, but at least it's about 12 miles away. Both are real Christmas programs since both are in Christian schools.
Hope your surgery goes well Drew. Everyone have a good day.
It's mid thirties now, temps falling to around 30 by noon, we look to be in the 1-3" range, I suspect we will be on the lower side of that, or maybe I'm hoping. Then some really cold stuff for a several days.

I too, am getting caught up, but unlike Dave, I read faster...

34 here, snowing. My yard is a mess from the ice storm. I got all the limbs cut up late last night. Lots of kindling/burn pile stuff. Looks like I'll have to call in the professionals for at least two or three maples and one other tree. Since the maples are so huge, it is going to be super expensive. It will also change the look and feel of the place. Better safe than sorry I guess.

Be safe in your travels, and don't over work yourselves today, all.

I had maples at my old place, very pretty but very destructive. The roots go everywhere and the seed mass is terrible mess twice a year and the leaves are like glue when they stick to stuff. Plus they break fairly easily and created a couple of electrical emergencies for us. I like to look at them, from a distance. I cut all the maples near where we built, and everyone within a hundred feet of my septic system, which is a mound system. They just did too much damage over the 28 years we lived at the old place.

After the icy roads delay the wood splitter should be here today, just in time. I get to review it and put it on the Harbor Freight Thread. The big question will it split the
hardwood PostOak. With a good swing of the ax, the ax just gets stuck.
This Fall I have used the WBS more than any other Fall AND Winter combined.

Got the coffee pot brewing. 42° with clouds, wind and light rain this morning. Heading to 51° with a very slight chance of some sun this afternoon. Got a text from my neighbor this morning. 9° with 1" of snow on the ground. He has the keys to my tractor. Can't wait for a chance to use it. Campsite still not set up yet. May have to wait for warmer weather later this week.
