One of my dogs is an egg dog, she finds turkey nests and with great care will collect the eggs. I have to leash her on walks if the trails are not cut into the fields. I think I posted about this talent here on TBN, some ten years ago.

Rip, I had a half collie, half Spitz that would bring hen eggs to the house when she would find them in remote nests, but I have a feeling if one ever broke it would have been all over.

Good Morning. 0835, sunny, 57* with 86% humidity. Forecast high of 64* this afternoon, and a low of 39* tonight. The rain has pushed on to the east of us, and we should have a few days of sunshine now.

When I was gone away to the Navy, Mamma gave 5 acres of land to Cousin Wayne, her bother's boy, and Daddy built him a little house on it. Wayne was a city boy and had never lived in the country before. Once I came home we got to be good friends. One day we were sitting around shooting the breeze, and Wayne summed up the pecking order around the farm. He said, "your Mamma will kill any dog that messes with her chickens, but she will kill any chicken that messes with her flowers." I had never thought of it that way, but he was telling the truth.

Everyone have a good day.

You certaintly keep good records or have a good memory. I have no idea what I paid for most things, maybe a car or a tractor, down to a couple of hundred, tops.

300U guy, I HAVE to keep good records as my memory isn't worth a (bleep) and never was. Have been keeping a detailed budget (print booklet) since 1982, I can tell you within 5 minutes how much my heat bill was in December 1991 or how much I paid for gasoline in May of 1985 or how much I paid for groceries during the calender year of 2002...you name it and I have it recorded.

Amazing how much the weather has changed, not long ago it was a bitter minus 25 with the windchill and today it's a balmy 37 with bright sunshine. But snow is forecast for tomorrow.

Almost D-Day plus a year for me...YAHOO !!!!!

Its in the twenties, had some rain snow mix last night and this morning so the roads are crappy and kids are out of school. I went to pull the tractor in the shop and the left front is flat and with all the fuel problems this year winter has gotten old. So I'm just wondering if it's just me or does anyone else miss the smell of dirt?

Yep, some dirt would smell pretty good about now.

It has drizzled rain all day. Fortunately, it's just warm enough this time to keep it from freezing on the ground/roads/driveway. I'm getting real tired of rain in January. Ice, ice, ice.

Central-southern Ohio smelled like Spring today. It's not but the sun is warmer and higher in the sky, snow all gone and temps in the 50's. We will get more snow and cold for sure but I now have it on good authority that Spring is coming. :)

Good Evening. 1935, clear, 48* with 82% humidity. Forecast low of 38* tonight, and a high of 55* tomorrow. It was a truly beautiful day today. When I was driving to Marianna, the car said it was 66*. I had started off with a long sleeve shirt over a t-shirt. But at the first shop, I left the long sleeve shirt in the car.

A couple of weeks ago I had got my new glasses. These were the first I have had with progressive lens. I quickly found out they were not good for watching TV from the recliner. I ask the folks what a cheap pair would cost for TV viewing, and it was only $38, so I had them make me a pair. I picked them up today, and decided on a pair of shades as well. With the 20% discount they were offering, the shades were $70. That is two pair for less than a third of what I paid for the progressive lens. Oh well, you live and learn.

I found out with progressives that steps and ledges appear not as they really are in your peripheral vision of the glasses. Its always embarrassing falling in public, it makes you really feel old.

I tried the progressives one time. My vanity can take the lines better than the tripping.

When the girl ask me how I was doing with the new glasses, I told her I felt 10 feet tall. As in the ground looked a long way away.

And since I'm still taking the glasses off to use the computer, I'm going to wear the cheap pair with single vision for a while. Later on I may use the progressive more.

If I remember to tilt my head down and look at the ledge/steps I'm OK. There is an adjustment period that your mind/eye/headtilt coordination must go through.

Wait until you go in a grocery store or library and try to read labels where items are on different shelves and different focal lengths away. I almost needed help getting out of the canned goods section.
