Yeah, and if I could get faster DSL than the pissant 1.51 mbps download I have to pay an obscene price for.....maybe I would be online more myself.

Oh JD you aren't going to like this...:D

I'm at 85/35mb now, and they wanted to upsell me to 150/60.
I said no thanks, it's plenty fast now, which I never thought I would ever say.
At 150mb they start running a separate fiber optic cable up the house router.
And best of all, FIOS can provide 500MB per second transfer rates if you are willing to pay for it.
Half a terabyte per second. Can you just imagine that JD?
It's amazing what fiber optics can do; one very big pipe in a very small package.

I remember 1.5...
but remember I have to live in suburbia to get these speeds.

The Yukon Denali was out before the Escalade and the '99-2000 Escalade is nothing more than a re-badged Denali. They didn't really split until 2001. Not disputing your story in any way, however.

I purchased one of the first available Y2K GMC 3/4 ton Yukon XL's available in my area, and the sticker on the door said it was made in Mexico!!!!
Never really understood why anybody wanted something fancier than what I have, unless it's for snob value.

Those things get pimped out pretty much. 10K or more at a minimum. None of the bling is really functional, and sometimes even reduces functionality. The wildest I've ever seen was Ford F650 set up as a pickup truck. Special wheels, a fancy tonneau cover, custom paint, a lift kit, plus a lot of chrome. I don 't know who it belonged to, but we saw it around here for a couple of years. I wonder what the resale is on a rig like that?

Big storm coming next week southeast and mid Atlantic almost a sure bet. Ten inches plus of snow in areas that don't see this and ice as well ie Atlanta northward. This could get very serious if trends continue. Gotta love those fancy rigs

Buppies, I don't even listen to our local Wx people anymore because your predictions have been spot on! I'm getting tired of pushing snow. Got another 4-5" of snow today even though the local forecast was for 1-2" at the most. Look out Drew, its headed your way now!

The storm if it lives up to the modeling will be huge in Ga SC NC into Va and up the coast. Snow then sleet then ice, va north all snow and pretty good amounts up to one foot maybe more. Maryland will also get in on the fun then up the coast. Snow amounts at least 10 to 1 maybe 12 to 1. Will know more tomorrow but those in south need to get ready. The next weekend may have some more then brief warm up before next round of cold thru middle of March. Then maybe we ease into spring. Coastal areas of New England mostly rain. This system will start on Tuesday and end on Thursday. Might even get a little surprise snow tomorrow for us in the south

Good Evening. 2035, clear, 51F with 87% humidity. Forecast low of 43F tonight, and a high of 71F tomorrow. Another really nice day here at the Larro Ranchero. I spent all morning online, and still tilled the garden, washed both cars, pruned the grape vines and went for a walk with Margie. There is no telling what I could have got done if I hadn't wasted away half the day:D

I'm hoping the ice and cold stays well to our north. Our forecast low for Thursday is 37F, but I trust Buppies more than Wunderground.

My mind completely erased the truck battery episode. I measured the new one in the store, and it looked to be the same size as the old one. But I found out it was about an eighth of an inch wider. And the clamp that holds it down fit the old one exactly. And I mean exactly. So my choices were to break one of the brackets off the clamp, or try to bend it a little. I was able to bend it enough using a crescent wrench that it would at least start to go over the edge. Then all I could do was tighten it as much as it would allow.

So then I figure it was just putting on the new positive terminal {the old one broke when I took it off} clamping it down, and I would be done. But then I found out the holes on the two cable clamps I had to put on the new terminal were just a hair too small to fit over the bolt. The only rat-tail file I could find was the one I use to sharpen the chain on my saw, so I used it to enlarge the hole. After a few minutes, and not much progress I thought of my cordless drill. After I put the file in the drill, the job went much faster. So a five minute job took about thirty five. Situation normal........

Good mornin' folks!!

I have had just about enough caffeine to make me feel something close to human so with that I'd better get off to work and consume more caffeine there to maybe even be productive!

The reason I haven't been posting here for a long time is that, due to the housing situation, I have had no time or motivation to do anything other than work. It hasn't been great, but I mustn't dwell as there are others in far worse places than I.

Right, I really need to go so I'll leave this post to a quick greeting and come back later to read through all the posts I missed whilst "away".

Take care guys.

Monday-morning quarterback here snow coming our friends in NC to get hammered with snow ice sleet. This will be a good size storm with 1 to 2 in rain at 10 to 1 is a pretty good snow then up the coast to New England. 30 degrees this morning chance of light snow high 38 later today. Whatever preparations that need to be made for this storm should be made especially us in the south. Good morning

31F this morning. As much as I like snow, I'm not sure I want what you are predicting, Buppies.

over an inch of snow for us last night, enough to have to go out and clean up.
Off to the pain doc early for my last neck epidural; boy I love docs who are on time, know their stuff,
and use twilight which is a marvelous anesthesia, but not for Michael Jackson. The won't let me drive so my
faithful friend Bill will be here in half an hour and he knows the drill. He drops me off, goes to Lowes for an hour, and then picks me up and we go
off to breakfast.

boy, I'm getting a little tired of this.
more shrub wrecking weather.

Thursday's forecast, so far...
Periods of snow during the morning will transition to a wintry mix in the afternoon. High 37F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph.
Chance of precip 90%. Snow and ice accumulating 5 to 8 inches.
